One thing I don't understand about this case, is why would such a massive manhunt be made after only a short amount of time? It troubles me that Bart's father has continued to financially and emotionally support his son after he not only tried to kill him, but murdered his wife and son.
Also his dad is blaming it on mental illness… that’s the worse when people blame it on mental illness for someone killing someone. I hate that excuse….
Many cars now-a-days lock automatically when driving. I always viewed it as trying to keep people from opening the doors while moving, but this is another benefit.
@@burk314Yes, they do, but not fast enough. Better lock them immediately after entering the vehicle. It is a good habit to have. Always keep them locked unless you need to exit.
Also if your a women or man for that matter if people jump in your car threatening you and telling you to drive to a remote area then you should just wreck the vehicle in a place where others are around even if you have to rear end the only other vehicle on a remote road or hell run off the road in to a house if you have to. Anything to not be taken to a remote location by strangers.
Wow imagine being showered by love and money like that Bart guy, and not appreciating the effort his parents put into him. And worse, betraying them by killing them
Had he not been such a violent sociopath, Bart would have kept his graduation ruse going..... Masters degree next.... and then PhD. A 12 yr party! I feel bad that dad goes to visit him. F that!

Maybe his dad feels a sense of responsibility for having raised his son in such a way and takes some sense of responsibility for his son's actions. Or maybe he's just a good man and father with unconditional love. I don't know how I would act in that situation because I don't have children.

Regardless of what he did, it's his son. A parent can't help it if they find it hard to stop loving the person they raised for years, if not decades. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it's not our place to tell him to stop caring for his own child.

Thing is that it was a VERY huge case. There were a lot of pressure and there was no chance for the political side of justice to simply find a scapegoat as happened other times. So they had to do something and that was literally their only possible move.
I love the part of the second story where he says the bullet missed his heart by only six inches. Six inches is half a foot. To be fair to the 'psychic' lady, I think your brain's subconscious is much better at connecting dots and noticing things that you aren't even really aware of then you might think. For example, I was walking to a supermarket 20 minutes from my house when I was 18 and saw an ambulance rushing off down the road towards my house (my house is NOT isolated, there are thousands of other homes down this road) and said, out loud, "That ambulance is for grandma." I remember a lady at a nearby bus stop giving me a weird look, and I started running back home. When I got there, grandma was being taken to the hospital and died later that night. It was not a guess, as I'd seen plenty of ambulances driving past in the previous weeks without it even crossing my mind that it would be for grandma, but I'd been cooking for her and whatnot for the past few months and somehow my subconscious just _knew_ she was about to die. I've almost never felt as sure about anything as I was that the ambulance was for her, it was almost freaky how sure I was. I had a similar thing happen with one of my childhood pet cats too. He showed no symptoms of anything and, as far as we can tell, he died of old age after wandering off. When I last saw him, I felt strongly that "this is the last time I'll see you" and so gave him extra attention. I was right, and I never saw him again. The other childhood cat suddenly developed water in her lungs and died when I was away for a week, and I had zero intuition that she would die before I left. I think that makes sense as it was a sudden development, unexpected as she was younger than the other cat, but both grandma and my other cat were old and my subconscious clearly understood how close they were to death much better than I ever could put into words. I've also heard stories of people coming forward as witnesses for stuff like kidnappings where they saw the person being driven off in passing but had no indication that anything was wrong. They just saw a car with people in it driving by and didn't make note of it, to the point where they can't even remember what colour the car is. But their subconscious noticed something they didn't, and when they hear police asking for information they suddenly feel like they know something, which is later proven to be correct, despite not being able to explain how or why they know. It wouldn't surprise me if Etta had seen the three boys and girl driving into or in the direction of the canyon, perhaps she was driving the other way and passed them by. She didn't make any note of it, or even give them any attention, but somewhere in her mind her subconscious found something wrong with the situation and remembered it. Thus, she had a strong feeling that the girl was dead in that canyon, but couldn't actually remember ever seeing anything that would explain why she was sure. This means, from her perspective, she heard "girl missing" and her subconscious instantly sprang up with "Girl in the canyon." But she can't consciously remember witnessing the event, so from her perspective it's effectively a vision from nowhere.
This is a good theory! Most of us aren't aware of our surrounding; not until we instantly remember every detail even though we haven't noted it, and shrugged it off thinking it was a "normal" interaction. Looking back, all I can say that our body is impressively perplexing!
The fact that the father can overlook all that Bart tried to do to him, the multiple murder attempts, and still support him proves that Bart lied about being under intense pressure. He clearly wanted the inheritance and wanted anyone in his way gone. That father is way kinder than I would be
@@maggiedk because if the father was so strict and rigid, he would've kept that mannerisms especially after his son committed the ultimate sin. Instead he embraced him and still visits him... Which tells me he probably wasn't as strict as Bart tried to portray him
@@dena81 you can't just assume what someone would do after going through that kind of trauma. I don't think Bart even said that his dad was the only factor putting pressure on him, but even if he had, it doesn't make sense to think that you could predict what his dad would do after losing literally his *entire family* other than Bart. Him trying to stay close to the only family member he has left doesn't prove that he wasn't strict with Bart prior to that. On the contrary, I think it makes sense that a strict/overbearing parent, who also supports/is taken advantage of by their child financially, would continue to support them even after this. I've known kids with rich parents who would be strict on the surface, but would also continuously forgive their kid and bail them out after terrible behavior.

@28:40 that bullet hole in the wall wasn't "repaired". It had been stuffed with toothpaste. In fact the case was actually solved by a private investigator (a retired police officer, hired by the widow) working _with_ police, after they had run out of leads. Together can be a wonderful thing.
I'd utilize a private investigator even if police were working on a case because a lot of times police don't find the obvious things that a private investigator would look for. There are too many of them doing too much. A single person of focus is better at times.
_Actually,_ it has bothered exactly 43 _other_ people too! Cause in THIS video he says, "... a small repaired indentation in the wall." Nothing about "toothpaste" was EVER EVEN _mentioned._ As for a "repair", _that_ would usually _imply_ that a drywall compound was used, duh! Toothpaste is a _very_ far cry from "a repair", wouldn't you say? Or would you like me to come to your house & fix all those little nail (& bullet) holes with frickin' toothpaste!? Seriously, _TOOTHPASTE_ folks! That's KINDA _REALLY_ an _important_ detail! _WHY_ don't you just understand how IMPORTANT _this_ is?! IT IS EVERYTHING!! Especially to me! Thank you for covering Yara's case. Here in Italy we have a lot of interesting cases (speaking with all the respect for the victims) but more than rarely happens that huge, international channels like this have interest in them.
I’ve seen another video on Greg’s case. The private investigator was amazing how he found the hole that was covered with toothpaste, when no one else you see it. Thanks for another great video, your voice is nice calming way to start off a Monday morning. 😊
My son killed my wife and tried to kill me? I would let him be executed. I am a parent, I understand parental love, but to forgive an assassin, no, I am not that stupid.
In the last one, I do not understand how they didn't either find a bullet in Greg, or an exit wound from the bullet. How is that possible? It makes no sense. One or the other would have had to have been there. It would have shown up on the X-rays, if it was still in him. I believe they said they gave him X-rays and those showed the damage to his lungs and ribs. I just don't get how they would miss that.
The last case only confirms my belief that a lot of unsolved cases are due to a mix of human error, preconceived notions and lack of imagination. In almost every instance of a case being finally solved years later there's evidence of arrogant and ignorant investigators making assumptions, or just ignoring blatant evidence because it doesn't suit the narrative they've built in their own heads. These people are often so insanely egotistical they attempt to force reality to conform to their opinions, instead of allowing the evidence to speak for itself.
Yara Gambirasio's investigation is amazing, it shows how the work of science goes a long way and also how public opinion can stay in the way of police work.
Wouldn't it be even _more_ of a crazy twist if in the end , years later, someone found out that Bart _and_ his dad were _both_ in on the murders of the family . If that were true, his dad _forgiving_ his son and visiting him in prison wouldn't _seem_ so strange after all , now would it❓
some people when losing their family decide to kinda hyper focus on their remaining family, so the dad only has his son. and he doesnt want to lose him too, and as strange as that is its just a subconcious decision

I had heard a bit of the last case before - it became quite popular due to the 10 year sentence for the shooting electrician (which is a lot for a horrible drunk accident with a deadly weapon and deadly consequences) - but all other cases are completely new to me and very baffling. Came here looking for comments like this. I heard a story where a guy brutally murdered a women as a drug addict and became sober. Many years 20-30 later he turned him self in he also got 10 years. Sad but priors really are huge when it comes to sentencing.
@@uAintliveifudontthiz This is sad! These 2 cases are relatively similar and I feel bad for the guy, who got clean, changed his life, turned himself in - so basically authorities didn't have to spend money to solve the case, he solved this case instead, he didn't hide and obviously had remorse - but also got 10 years; I'm a bit torn about that sentenceing. (I understand, he brutally murdered a woman ... these 10 years won't make her alive again though).
@@Anita-k the thing is, there's no statute of limitations on crimes like murder. Even if they find the murderer 50 years later, they can still be arrested and sentenced to life in prison. Cases that are older will still be available to solve, they just aren't as active as current ones. So i think the 10 years is probably a lenient sentence because he turned himself in.
10 years is a rough sentence, for what seems to be a horrible tragic accident...not that there shouldn't be some sort of repercussion in causing a death, but it was an horrible, horrible accident. 😪
I agree, one hell of a FREAK accident. I suspect he was laying on the bed smoking and that round went through the wall at just the right angle. Crazy. With that said, it was clearly unintentional and surely an accident, so on one hand I agree, 10 years DOES seem like a stiff bid to do in prison, but is it really when you think about the fact that he, (even though it was unintentional) took another mans life? There's no take backs, that's forever. In the grand scheme of things, and I'm just playing devils advocate here, it doesn't seem too bad considering if he walked a straight line in prison, surely got out in at least 5 years on parole. People get far more time, for far less things most of which of which don't result in a death.
I freakin love the ewu crew! Y'all make THE BEST videos! I hadn't heard of any of these cases except #3. I actually seen a movie based on that case! It was crazy how they went about solving it! I have seen many programs about Bart. I can't remember the name. But another boy drove from his college and shot his parents while they slept. The mother survived. She too stands by her son. Swears he would never do such a thing. Its amazing what people will do to hide a secret. I love my children. But do something this heinous. And you need to face the charges. We lived a few miles from San Marino. It was a big story at the time. I imagine the daughter/wife is there someplace still. Poor woman never knew her son never did leave her.
If you’re still confused by how a bullet could have entered the groin and gone up through the torso in the last case, it was determined that the victim was laying on the bed facing the room where the gun went off.
Handwriting stuff really grinds my gears because I have personally fiddled with the idea of this concept and I found I was very successful at learning how to mimic certain people's writing and quirk's, if you have a side by side example of the person's handwriting next to you when writing and after doing a bunch of practice work to get a hang of it. I'm just implying that -it is possible a person could imitate another person's handwriting. So never fully rule that out when reviewing a suspect. That's all.
Lol, no you’re not. You might think you are but you’re always missing out on small little details that an expert would catch on to in analysis. Handwriting is pretty unique from person to person. Not saying it’s a perfectly exact science, but don’t overestimate yourself

I actually kinda buy Etta from the fourth case’s story about having some sort of vision about where the body was because something similar happened to my great aunt when she was a teenager. When my great aunt was around 16 a little girl near where she lived went missing, and whenever the girl was brought up in the news or somewhere my great aunt had visions of the high school she went to. She didn’t take them too seriously at first but they kept happening. She brought this up to her parents, my great grandmother and great grandfather, and they said if she legitimately thought that the two were connected she should tell the police. She didn’t at first because she didn’t think the police would believe her, but she just couldn’t shake the feeling that her high school was somehow involved in the girl’s case, so eventually she did go the police. The police ended up following the lead and lo and behold, the girl was found not in the school but a small building next to it, thankfully she was alive and was able to go back to her family.
The death of Greg Flinnegan was the craziest, most unbelievably wild I've ever saw in my life!! Figuring that out was a stroke of genius that was literally one of those crazy stories you'd see on a TV show and think it was too ridiculous to be real!!
I can't believe that "psychic" won the lawsuit. She overheard something. She didn't have a vision; give me a break. The cops had every reason to arrest someone who led them TO THE BODY.
I remember iara’s case for years it had all of us in Italy glued to our tvs awaiting developments on the case, to this day it is still brought up, especially since not too long before or after this case another girl disappeared

The psychic being arrested is one of many reasons a lot of people who have mystical experiences unfortunately keep those experiences to themselves. I'm glad that she got compensated.
These were some horrible cases but the part that stuck with me the most is the photo of Bart in the restaurant holding up the dessert. It was supposed to say CONGRATULATIONS but instead it said "CONCRATULATIONS" lol
The last case is very strange, but more than that...what an unfortunate coincidence that he was on the other side of the wall, at the exact place angling him in a way that will cause his death... I actually feel sorry for the guy who killed him as well here. Maybe he only got 10 years in prison, but he got a life sentence in a way that he will need to live the rest of his life knowing he killed an innocent person.
Ive read and saw videos about the last case. This just shows that police were incompetence so easily missed that one detail of covered 'bullet hole' in the wall. It also introduces me to Ken Brennan cases
That was a strange incident with Melanie Uribe and Etta Smith having a Psychic episode. I think she has had more psychic episodes of other bodies being found but is scared to mention them incase she keeps getting arrested as a suspect.
She found the body in a way so serendipitous she knew she could play it off without getting implicated. Went hiking, was on a small airplane ride, heard from someone who can't verify because of legal repercussions. Something so ridiculous she knew she could make that outrageous claim because the real way she found it was a freak occurrence. The fact that she brought her child and her child was the one who pointed to the body leads me to believe it was the child who actually knew. I mean, who brings a child to go see a dead body? That's suspicious. Probably didn't want her child getting asked a bunch of questions.

It troubles me that Bart's father has continued to financially and emotionally support his son after he not only tried to kill him, but murdered his wife and son.
But not even slightly surprising considering both parents *knew* about the plot and did nothing.

F that!
I can't imagine it. It is awful. He had loving, doting parents who gave him everything he could want. It is so awful that he did that.
When you’re given everything you don’t appreciate it as much as if you earned it for yourself . My parents were very wealthy but I got a job aged 12 and bought my own vehicle and moved out aged 16. To be fair to the 'psychic' lady, I think your brain's subconscious is much better at connecting dots and noticing things that you aren't even really aware of then you might think.
For example, I was walking to a supermarket 20 minutes from my house when I was 18 and saw an ambulance rushing off down the road towards my house (my house is NOT isolated, there are thousands of other homes down this road) and said, out loud, "That ambulance is for grandma."
I remember a lady at a nearby bus stop giving me a weird look, and I started running back home.
Looking back, all I can say that our body is impressively perplexing!
bro is manifesting. that's crazy tho

The fact that the father can overlook all that Bart tried to do to him, the multiple murder attempts, and still support him proves that Bart lied about being under intense pressure. He clearly wanted the inheritance and wanted anyone in his way gone. That father is way kinder than I would be
I'm not defending him at all, but how does that prove he lied? Those two things have nothing to do with each other.
@@dena81 also... There's a chance his dad blames himself/the way he raised Bart for what happened. Which, again, would explain why he would try to keep a relationship with him now.

Breakfast and insane twists ? Don’t mind if I do ☕️🙏🏾
15:45 “and the blood wasn’t Yaras” Uumm, so whos blood was it?🤔
Guessing it was menstrual blood.
@Ben trust me no your not, there is some specific thing u will leave out, such as the loop they make on the h,or perhaps the way they dot their I's or cross their T's.
Don't go and try and live a life of,forgery cause you don't get far,and its a felony.
Holy hell! That last case has left me speechless!! Wow!!!
Horrible cases but theres Nothing worse than waking at 4am to a Manscapes commercial
If Lance Mueller got 10 years for an accidental discharge, maybe Alec Baldwin deserves the same.
@@busylawbee Does the actor handling the gun have a responsibility to check it also?
@@busylawbee He pointed a gun at another person, which is the #1 rule of firearms safety. Then he discharged it. He bears some responsibility.
The death of Greg Flinnegan was the craziest, most unbelievably wild I've ever saw in my life!! Figuring that out was a stroke of genius that was literally one of those crazy stories you'd see on a TV show and think it was too ridiculous to be real!!
what platform do you use for creating these videos? great work! keep them coming love listening to you!
so many people including me would be so happy to have parents like Bart's
The best crime channel on TH-cam.
My new favorite channel!
Love listening while I sleep
Been with EWU explore with us, for awhile now.. A beautiful accidental find, and didn't even realise the true crime chanel attached 🤣 haha!
This LoneWolf, is even MORE happy to have found fellow true crime wolfs 🖤🐺🐺
The psychic being arrested is one of many reasons a lot of people who have mystical experiences unfortunately keep those experiences to themselves. I'm glad that she got compensated.
*has an affair*
her: no that’s not his father
also her: mmm still no i don’t cheat 🦋
These were absolutely bizarre! Great video ✌⭐🔥🤗
Yes another video!!!! Got my coffee and my chihuahua and an EWU video
These were some horrible cases but the part that stuck with me the most is the photo of Bart in the restaurant holding up the dessert. It was supposed to say CONGRATULATIONS but instead it said "CONCRATULATIONS" lol
New subscriber here. Your videos are VERY good and the way you present the stories is Awesome!
Those poor dogs and cat don’t realize how much danger they are in.
15:24 But who's blood was it? It had to be someone's. Also could police hear conversations like that? How does it work?
Yay story time be it grim but always click when a new video thanku EWU Crew watching from UK 😎
I absolutely 🖤 how u narrate ur uploads thank u again for sharing another great upload 🖤
Ive read and saw videos about the last case. This just shows that police were incompetence so easily missed that one detail of covered 'bullet hole' in the wall. It also introduces me to Ken Brennan cases
His voice is my favorite
Algorithm brought me here...the content is making me stay 👍🏾
I know #2 from Forensic Files, still sad how the father continues to support the son who tried to have him killed
EWU CREW BRINGIN HEAT AS ALWAYS.
Thank you all for the content- even if TH-cam is weird now. I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your informative brand of entertainment.
