    This was a rough episode to watch. When Missandei says dracarys I think that’s pretty much what made Dany make the decisions she makes from now on. The killing of the dragon really upset me and Jamie betraying the North and Brienne was just terrible. I couldn’t wait for this episode to be over with. I enjoyed y’alls reaction and commentary as always.

    I could have done without Bron in exchange for BRAN TELLING ARYA AND SANSA THE TRUTH ABOUT JON. grrrr. The one scene I still miss to this day. I’m glad you guys have a good vibe and not buying into the negative. That’s why I’m here. I loved this show. 😁

      Bron surviving the second Field of Fire is pure fan service; he serves no legit purpose from that point on. It would have been a better arc if he died saving Jaime.

    I was the same way with those dragons! I couldn't believe it when they both died. Just shock, anger, and sadness. I also felt Brianne's loss of love. She really loved him. That broke my heart right along with her. Lots of emotions in this episode.

    The episode with the worst scene in the entire series where they wipe away 8 seasons of Jamie's character development with the line "To be honest, I never much cared for them, innocent or otherwise." His whole motivation for killing the Mad King was to protect the innocent people from being massacred with wildfire. The scene between Jamie and Brienne where he confesses this was a major reason Gwendoline Christie took the role. Total and deliberate betrayal by Benioff and Weiss, starting at the beginning of season 7. Go back to Jamie's face at Cersei's coronation when he realizes she did exactly what he tried to prevent. But at the start of season 7, he's following her like a cowed puppy. Made no sense. It was at that point when they abandoned the series, I think. Season 7 and 8 were truncated. Characters that would have died if they had gotten into dangerous situations in previous seasons were miraculously getting saved (e.g. Bronn pulling Jamie out of the way of Drogon's mouth after dodging dragon fire by 6 inches 10 minutes earlier when Drogon destroyed the scorpion...)

      Anyone should know jamie was lying to her so she would let him go.he does it masterfully through the series.

    • @janeathome6643
      @janeathome6643 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Him saying that was stupid, but his returning to Cersei does make sense in terms of their story. Cersei is his ruination. For a true redemption arc, he would have to do something else that doesn't happen in this series (alluded to by Maggie the Frog).

      I agree. The scene in episode 2 where Jamie knights Brienne was a true consummation of their love. That pseudo-sex scene was pure fan service and completely unnecessary.

    John was treated as a bastard all his life, the only thing he ever wanted was to be called John Stark. Now that he learned the truth, that he is actually a legitimate child and the rightful king of the Seven Kingdoms he is asked to keep it a secret. I think Danny is obsessed with the throne and as much of an honorable man John actually is this is something noone should ask of him.The whole situation should of course have been handled differently but there would be no drama otherwise.

    • @janeathome6643
      @janeathome6643 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is completely unfair for Dany to expect Jon to sacrifice his truth because she wants that damn throne. Her obsession mirrors Stannis's obsession that he was the chosen one. It's not about the realm, but the ego.

      Has really annoyed me how Cam has no confidence in Zay's ability to understand things, make connections, notice callbacks etc on his own. He feels the need to point everything out and launch into explanations that were never asked for, and in doing so talks over the whole next scene.

      She's been nuts the whole time, always obsessed with the throne and threatening to destroy anyone in her way. She's only been held back by her friends and advisors. At the end of Season 8 we see what happens as she loses those advisors (Jorah, Missandei) or feels she can't trust them (Tyrion, Jon, Varis) and is left to her own ideas. There's plenty wrong with these final episodes, but I've never agreed with people mad about Dany's arc, it makes perfect sense to me.

    Missandei's death was one of the roughest, for me, of the entire series. Didnt think they would do her like that, but was a great shocking moment tbh.

      Except this is the one plot turn that we know beyond any doubt will not be a part of ASOIAF because B & W bragged how they took the defeat of the Dead away from Jon in order to "subvert expectations" and "girl power". It is nonsensical and the worst story decision of the entire series because it completely screws up so many in universe elements.
