Cathay Pacific is definitely among the top premium choices. The competition is rough though. Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad are direct competitors when it comes to transiting. For direct flights, Cathay Pacific for sure, although Air France and KLM need to be considered with their upgraded business class making them the two best airlines in Europe hands down. It needs to be noted that the Pier lounge and other cathay lounges in HKG are phenomenal and makes it worth transiting in Hong Kong. So Cathay is overall value for money
Took the same flight on Sep. Crew was hardworking but catering (same menu as yours) was a big let down (it's generally much worse compare to LHR route). Can't sleep properly as this is a day flight. Would not even bother to do Cathay flight on this route unless I have no other options.
It will be the worst option. Don't misunderstand. I've been a gold member of CX over a decade until Covid. I flew frequently either first or business class of CX CGK-HKG and to USA via HKG. Since I flew Emirates via Dubai to EU, I fly westward to go to US simply to take Emirates flights. No competition.

Hell no!! CX's service had deteriorated since 20 years ago but their air fare is still very expensive. With that price I rather take Emirates, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Finnair or even Turkish Airlines. I rather take a transit instead of flying direct on this shite. Also CX's boarding gate in Schiphol is always the furthest one in the terminal (E66), it's like taking a hike.
Actually NO, it will be Singapore Airlines for the business class. It's(Singapore) A350s are getting retrofitted starting 2026. Additionally, Cathay is NO longer my favorite A350 operator because of my obsession with Lufthansa A350s. But at least Singapore Airlines is my most favorite A350 operator.
I'm also really looking forward to Singapore Airlines' A350 retrofits starting in 2026! My last experience flying on their A350 left a great impression. As much as I admire Lufthansa's A350s, I don't often fly them since I rarely visit Frankfurt. On another note, Finnair's A350 seat refurbishments have been quite successful too.

Lufthansa is not even close to cathay objectively speaking. Their sh*t 2-2-2 configuration seat is gonna be here for at least the next 3 years. You are underestimating the german paper works and the slow level of execution. Their new business class allegris is not revolutionary as well, the current herringbone seat of Cathay is still far superior to Lufthansa's aria suite, although Cathay's new business class aria suite is a downgrade as well

HKG - LHR is probably Cathay Pacific's most important route, and AMS is not even close to CDG.
