I pulled into dental office lot and went as it was closing and asked if I could park in their lot until next morning. They said sure wrote out a paper to put on dash. I showed up Saturday morning with some tools and a new belt. While their lot security shows up and said “good thing for the note, you woulda been towed”. The lot security actually gave me hand to get the belt on. Permission, $20 belt, respect. Avoiding an expensive tow, priceless

Gatlinburg is notorious for not having enough parking at businesses or rental houses. When we rented a cabin from a wonderful man thru VRBO, he flat out told us in an email there was parking only for 2 vehicles on his property. He ALSO told us to make SURE wherever we parked in town was a public parking area. Good thing we listened to him. We saw cars being towed the whole time we were there for our stay. ✌

I agree. I once got towed and I called the number and simply asked how much the fine was and where to get my car. They weren't to the lot yet and they were so surprised at my attitude that they drove it back to where I was. I was so thankful.

Answer went basically "Send you a final notice, then evict you into the street, what do you make of that you ****?" 😆

I don't think the hotel is telling people to park in the numbered spots, but whatever they are saying is clearly being misinterpreted by lots of hotel guests. It would be so easy to simply give guests a map of the hotel parking areas.

I live a few hours from there and have been there hundreds of times and have never had my car towed because I pay to park or I find the areas there that are public parking but mostly I pay to park because they are closer to the activities.
Maybe my neck of the woods is different, but the brother in law who walks out onto your property taking stock of what to have, including a loader, is odd. I hope you have fantastic surveillance out there.

@21:00... The laws there are different from here in Vegas. Here, even though the winch is hooked up, because the car isn't actually on the truck, we can't charge a drop fee. We'd have to release it. The back tires would have to be off the ground and on the truck. 12 more inches, and we'd charge the fee.

I visited Gaitlenburg 20 years ago. Had a wonderful time. Loved Dollywood. Never got towed.

Knoxville here. I used to go to Gatlinburg ritually I never understood how come parking is so complicated. There are signs every where.

I live a few hours from there and have been there hundreds of times and have never had my car towed because I pay to park or I find the areas there that are public parking but mostly I pay to park because they are closer to the activities.

Oh, yeah. Not enough parking spaces where you're staying? Just park on someone else's property without permission. And then expect the owner of that property to hunt you down to move your car. Sorry, bud...it don't work that way. The tow company will get called every time and you'll pay to get your car back.

My company told me to park on someone else’s property when I had a leak. I refused and took the afternoon off to replace the water pump. Thanks for the time off without using vacation
You’ll have to master the art of picking hard to grab vehicles from under the driver/passenger seats (backside of front wheels), to manoeuvre them enough for the pickup

@21:00... The laws there are different from here in Vegas. Here, even though the winch is hooked up, because the car isn't actually on the truck, we can't charge a drop fee. We'd have to release it. The back tires would have to be off the ground and on the truck. 12 more inches, and we'd charge the fee.
