@@charliestaton8371 Why bring that up? NP isn’t even in the same universe as Matt Cameron. NP was great at what he did in that band, but not on the level of the true greats.
He was the G.O.A.T. His voice sounds like a new element, a form of massive energy, he could still hit notes from 30 years ago, volume, expansion, range and techniques. Cornell was unbeatable as a vocalist, not even Plant or Mercury could have mastered his voice so well. God of music.
I think that when you listen to how Chris answers the interview questions, you might begin to understand outside of the music, why fans value him as much as we do & why reconciling his loss is neither easy, nor necessarily finished
Since July 2, 1992, when I attended a Soundgarden concert at the age of 18, for the first and only time, I felt an incredible sense of rapture with the music I heard. Musicians and composers like these should be immortal. Like his musical legacy that I'll listen to until the end of my life
Brilliant. Not a hit band, that's the secret of being a "Soundgarden" and he hits the nail on the spot about music discovery and how it can or should be a sacred, spiritual experience of the individual. Best interview ever. Sense and down to earth, many can learn from those.
Anyone can imitate sound. But to name yourself and prove your the sound of rocks garden.. the sound of the 90s ledzeplin. Chris Cornell is the vest vocal of all time. Hands down
Saw soundgarden play Northern Invasion in 2017, just days before it all ended. I will never forget at the end of the show, Ben Shepperd tearing down his whole bass rig and just being an animal!!! Greatest show of my life.
I saw them in Tuscaloosa right before that on May 6th. They were amazing & Chris was leaning over taking gifts from people on the front row talking to them, shaking hands, laughing & smiling a lot. Great memory.
I’m so upset that I never got the chance to see them. The one time I had a shot, Matt was on tour with PJ and Matt Chamberlain was on the drums. I couldn’t do it. Soundgarden is one of my all time favorites.
I saw Patti Smith in a small venue in Toronto many years ago and it was the most amazing concert I've ever been to. I had heard that it was her first concert in years. She did two shows that night and I was at the first one. The crowd, including me, was going absolutely nuts the entire time, yet she was so humble. She spoke to us like we were her buddies hanging out in her living room. I wish I could have seen Soundgarden live.
Still miss Chris mucho ! Was lucky enough to see Soundgarden number of times and Audioslave also. Just don't make bands like that anymore! Thanks again for compiling this video and sharing 👍
Ben so right about the sound being better in smaller venues, even though Chris had the vocal range of a demon, big stadiums loose something in the vocal range, probably the open ambience..
yo. i love Soundgarden so much and yes Matt is a god. but for you to call 20 years of Matt with PJ as all shit is not right. im guessing you hate Eddie Vedder?
we didnt really have diff odd alternative in AUS unless u lived in the cities. so for me i found Soundgarden first, along w what came after. from tori amos to ministry or soul asylum. i always was into anything metal but i admit i gravitated to hair wen i was in my teens while listening to say Queensryvhe who really were diff and amazing but still metal. I’ve always loved the way Kim plays guitar. He’s definitely an individual on that axe. One of the greats. An Extremely underrated player.
The Matt Fucking Cameron, Still the fittest drummer on the planet, how he keeps that up is nothing short of heroic.
I don't think anyone can match his groove as well
there's time you would think Hes trying to stroke out !! Energizer Drummer !! Still Going !!
He is amazing, so is Neil Peart of Rush….aw man, another icon lost way too early 😢

Chester too🫶🏼

I am super fortunate to see Soundgarden at many cool concerts. This sounds fantastic! ❤ Chris Cornell 🤘
its insane how good they were then. still getting after it and reaching new levels in themselves. Chris was such a loss. they'd still be touring.
