All One can really say and or add is a very Sincere Thank You to Sissel for sharing her beautiful God Given talent and to all who have helped her. Amen and Amen.
John D Johnston here. I have only recently discovered Sissel and have been listening to everything l can find. This lady is truly phenomenal. Most of her songs l have heard are all prayers that have touched my soul so deeply. I endorse all the comments below, l can add nothing that has not already been eloquently said. God bless Sissel.
In "Slow Down" she caused the collective attendees to hold their breath. I've attended concerts for over 60 years and it was the most magical single moment I can remember...ever.
When Sisal sings “slow down,” she makes us in the special mood to feel the Spirit. In this harried and stressed world we need to slow down and listen more to the Spirit more than ever and her song was supremely needed. I brought my elderly Mother to hear Sisal the first time she came. Mother could not stand in line so I left her in the Tabernacle and held her place in line. I told one of the service missionaries that I was holding the place for my elderly mother and I would need to know when to go get her just before we were to go inside for the concert. A few minutes later, the missionaries came and told me to get my mother and they would escort us to seats that were given to us. We were taken to the very first row in the conference center, a few seats away from the Prophet and we could look up to Sisal who was right in front of us. What a thrill it was to hear her beautiful voice and lovely face right next to us. My mother is 96 years old now, and she still talks about that night. My husband and I were later called to the be Service Missionaries on guess where? Temple Square!
I can’t stop listening to “Slow Down” at 48:00! Oh my goodness. It calms and soothes my soul and it does feel like heaven! Sissel, thank you for your delicate voice and sensitivity to the timely message in this song. And the tabernacle choir and orchestra was absolutely sensitive and heavenly as well. I can’t thank you all enough for this song that makes heaven feel so close. I feel a longing for more of this heavenly feeling in our busy and troubled world today. I’m going to slow down more to listen and hear his voice. Thank you, thank you, thank you tabernacle choir, orchestra, and Sissel! 🙏 👏
I to would to thank Sissel the tabernackle choir the orchastre and the Conductor for such a Blown Away by the whole arrangments Beautifully Sung God Bless every one of your gifts God Bless you All from Ireland Dublin going to learn that beautiful song Slow Down as thers a message in that song for me Thank you 🇨🇮♣️🕊🕊🕊🕊🦄❤💥👼👼👼💖💖💖💖💯💯
Nice to see someone express my same sentiment, can't say how many times I've replayed that as a single, Slow Down. It evokes sublime experience, near divinity, so unique, so very special is it.
I was there to watch it in person and when she sang "Slow Down", oh my goodness...you could hear a pin drop. It was so spiritual and magical at the same time. She was singing a prayer and everyone was praying the words with her. That is why that song received a standing ovation...not only for the way she sang it and her perfect voice, but because we all felt the magnitude of the words she sang. That, to me, was the most amazing moment. I'm a forever fan.
So, there you have it! ~ I wasn't the only one actually praying that her lyrics would be felt too, in a special way! ~ Please note how the song ends... "and KNOW -- that HE is GOD !"; -- that's the reason that the Pioneers followed Prophet & Pres. Brigham Young to the "Promised Land" (though desolate) Salt Lake Valley in 1847 -- because they KNEW too ~ that a Special Spirit prevailed over him and their "Saintly" works! ~~ [note how poignantly that Sissel also felt the spirit at this specific moment (starting at 53:00, and subsequently]; -- as the beauty & serenity of the Spirit of God carried through the remainder of the concert, though maybe in a more-subdued manner)! ~ and if you don't believe that Brigham was a Spirit-guided leader, just read some of the amazing stories in Preston Nibley's compilation -- "Faith Promoting Stories": archive.org/details/faithpromotingst00nibl (see Emmeline B. Wells story, pp. 137-140; and if you want to know what Pioneering perseverance amidst poverty was really like, read "A Bride's Life Among the Pioneers, by R.C. Atwood, pp. 72-77?! -- They, as we also did last night, with Sissel, knew that amidst our seeming trials -- in a special way, that we can prevail by knowing THAT GOD IS SURELY AWARE OF US (and our needs) if WE WILL BUT TURN TO HIM! -- So, shall we PRAY TOGETHER! & Believe! -- that HE WILL solve all the problems, and fill the needs of the humble; -- which is why Sissel sang the subsequent (curiously-placed) "New Year's" song, and commented that it can become a NEW BEGINNING -- if we, like Saints & Pioneers will look, or seek, to KNOW & TURN TO HIM, by following our present-day Prophets too!
I was her Stage Manager during the concert. She was caught completely by surprise by the response to "Slow Down." I explained to her that children in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints learn the little song "Listen to the Still Small Voice" very early on, and that it is in the DNA of members of our faith to seek and listen to that Voice. This song connected at a spiritual level, and her reverence and bearing witness (even though she is not of our faith) of the truth in this song allowed the Still Voice to amplify its meaning to all that hear.

Thank you for this peace instilling video. You are all amazing people. I've been struggling with OCD and am a perfectionist. It can be changed difficult to remember that God doesn't care how much I may fall. Remember this everyone, God loves all of us no matter what we've done or do. He is just there with open arms. Jesus Christ have his life that we may be able to change! Let's be is good cheer for we have a savior! I so testify in the holy and sacred name of Jesus Christ Amen!
07.24.2020. There was no parade in the morning because of the quarantine. It was just "another day" for me until you've brought the holiday to my home. Thank you all! May our Lord protects you wherever you are now.
These are the songs of my ancestors, I grew up singing some of these. I'm so grateful to have so many memories of my family talking about my ancestors. Knowing where I come from enriches my purpose in life, and I will carry this music in my heart forever.
Met Sissel in 2010, here on TH-cam. Had heard her voice as far back as '97, and never forgot it. I could listen to Sissel every moment for the rest of my life, unfortunately, there's other things need to be done.
As I listen to Sissel's nothing-short-of-angelic voice, I cannot help but weep virtually uncontrollably through every song she sings. Oh! What amazing beauty!
On of the Best concerts EVER !! During this pandemic, this concert has lifted me up countless on times , even tho it was over 1 year ago. God does Live !! Jesus Is The Christ !!
The best relaxing intertaintment ever, close your eyes...and just listen to this.. and get better inside yourself.. best regards from Ivan in Denmark... (Sissel have been married to a danish intertainer named Eddie Skoller, they break up.. i do not know why.. sometime live is not easy.. Best wishes to all of you...
4 years later I am enjoying this presentation for the first time. Incredibly beautiful. The orchestra, the choir, the history shared and of course the magnificent Sissel. Thank you seems so inadequate but it is so sincere. I will listen again and again. Uplifting, encouraging, dynamic. God Bless everyone involved in these productions. 41:21
Hearing Sissel, the Choir and Orchestra is always a beautiful and emotional experience. I am grateful the Church shares these beautiful musical presentations with us all. God bless those who sing and play for our benefit.
Join the club. That's why this is her 3rd performance with the choir! No other guest has ever performed 3 TIMES with the choir. But she seems to be everyone's favorite. Maybe because she really is an angel disguised as a human. :)
I am a member of this great church and love it and proud to be a member and Listen to Sissil singing Slow Down every day it is so spiritual an reminds me that I need to listen to God
I cannot describe the powerful spirit that was at that concert. The entire room felt like what I imagine heaven to be like especially when she sang Slow Down 48:00. She connected so personally with each person there. Enjoy it!
This was wonderful , Sissel’s beautiful pure voice a gift from god .. I loved especially Slow Down ... it’s Sunday morning on Gold Coast Australia, and I rested in bed to listen to this concert 🎶 thank you for the experience .. 🎶❤️
I simply cannot offer sufficient applause, gratitude and appreciation for this tremendous performance. We enjoy all the concerts from Temple Square with the Choir and Orchestra, but this one is Extra Special! Should Covid 19 never allow us together, again, I can always return to view and appreciate this 2019 Pioneer Day memory. Thank you, All, for your hard work and labor of love. Please find a way to bring Sissel for another visit! THANKS, THANKS, THANKS‼️ (Bill, Moses Lake, WA)
2019 Pioneer Concert with The Tabernacle Choir The concert with Sissel was unique. The songs that Sissel delivered were so immersive and touching, all through. Her charming, natural and warm radiance and tremendous singing talent also captivated the audience, especially "Slow Down", where she received long standing ovation, for this impressive performance. And thanks to Sissel for her presentation of songs from Scandinavia. A concert I will always return to and hear again and again. A repeat of the collaboration with Sissel and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will be most welcome. Bravo Sissel, It was truly a song from your heart to all of us, heartfelt thanks. And thanks to the Tabernacle Choir, orchestra and organizers, for their fine and good quality concerts.
Am 63 yrs young. Became a Latter day Saint of the Church of Jesus Christ when I was 39. My life did begin at 40. Best choice of my life, to know where I came from, why I am here, and where I go in eternity. Such a blessing from my Heavenly Father. I have no doubt. Onward! Come see for yourself.
Good Morning...Today is Sunday...Listening this marvelous while I read the Scriptures....I have to go to the Church later....sending greetings from Venezuela....
Sissel is brilliant! Her Christmas concert is my all time favorite and hearing her tonight was amazing. I was lucky enough to be in the conference center. I played Slow Down all the way home and it’s on repeat this Sunday morning.
It was Amazing to be there for Slow Down. The crowd stood and applauded for a good time. I love this video where I can see Sissel up close and humble always recognizing others. That song was made for her.

It's a Sunday morning here in Nigeria and I just stumbled across this...... I'm happy I did........such wonderful voices and skillful instrumentalists❤️🌷
What an incredible concert! I felt the spirit as I watched and listened. When slow down and the last song came on I had the thought that we are in the care of our almighty father in heaven so we don't need to fear, we just need to slow down and hear with our hearts. Phenomenal performance beyond words of praise!
Hey thank u for sharing your beautiful message about the Pioneers journey across the country.. I remember being a beehive hearing true events about the Pioneers.. Awe ...! My heart cried for em .. ❤️🙌🏽👏🏾🙏🙋🏻♀️
Wow...what a privilege to listen to this concert over and over. It brings so much joy and happiness to my soul. At my 60th birthday celebration earlier this month, we played "Slow Down" as I entered the celebration hall. Then during the procession, I let everyone listen to the "Freedom Song"... O, what a beautiful soul searching song. Thank you...thank you so much❤
Saw it last night at the Conference Center in Salt Lake. This had to be the best Pioneer Day concert ever, excellent choice of songs, perfect guest vocalist and top notch performance all around. Hearing this live was surreal as you had to keep reminding yourself you were listening to something live, not recorded.
This was my first Pioneer Day concert I have ever attended and I have never sat so close to the stage before, I was so grateful to hear Sissel, such an angelic voice that stilled my heart ♥️ she inspires me.
AMEN!!! Happy Sunday to you all our precious brother's and sister's and precious families. We love you all because OUR HEAVENLY FATHER'S LOVES you all the first.
Glory glory to the Living God Yahwehand His beloved Son Jesus Christ. So Beutiful God blessed them all with a wonderful heart full of love of Jesus the beloved of God. Halleluyah glory to God who art in Heaven. i love LDS Tabernacle Choir.
48:10 Laying down with eyes closed imagining the Savior standing near me while listening to the song slow down was a wonderful spiritual experience . I know that my Redeemer lives, I owe everything to Him. Thanks Choir , Orquesta, Maestro and especially Sissel.
I have great admiration for this wonderful choir. I don't think there is anything in the world of this kind. Heartwarming every time I listen to this beautiful orchestra. God bless you
How wonderful to bring back Sissel. An unexpected gift. I have several of your Christmas concerts on DVD and the one with Sissel is by far my favorite. I have watched it every Christmas eve since it's release in 2007. This will be a must add to my collection. Many of the songs I am hearing for the first time and the orchestra and choir are spectacular as always.
Sissel Sang A Happy New Year song by Stefan Nilsson and it came out at the winter of 2018, the time our new prophet President Nelson is ordained. What a glorious new begining!
When I saw several weeks ago on Sissel's website that she was going to be in Salt Lake City, I so wanted to go. But I did not have the wherewithal, funds, or health to traverse the 935 miles from Omaha to Utah the way the pioneers did. I would guess that this was sold-out a year in advance anyway? Last night I was watching my favorite artists via TH-cam on my big screen TV and when it came time to again watch Sissel, to my delight I discovered this! When she first appeared on stage to cover ABBA's song (my #2 fave band of all-time) I knew that an angel from Utah was now passing through my room in Nebraska. Thanks to whomever put this replay on TH-cam for all the world to see. You have bestowed a great blessing. May God bless you all! I will be sharing this with many friends and family to share this love.
I loved the song the first time i heard it 3 wks ago [Slow Down], the more i listen to it the more the more i love it. I have heard it about 30 time, Sissel is in such good voice that it still brings on the chills!!!!
Thank you, dear Sissel for teaching us a wonderful story and singing that man’s song in his native language as well as English. I remember the very same song when I was a child. Then, I did not know the meaning. That was over 65 years ago. Slow down was quite heavenly and very fitting to sing to the Lord and mankind. Your tears touched my soul. Peace be with you and return home in satisfaction and great safety.
Sue Sturges, And so say “ all of us” Words spoken from the ❤️mean a great deal, some time you stumble across a “hidden gem” a shining light that cannot be dimmed. and this “beautiful “ lady, who sings like a nightingale, takes pride of place. Sissel, has shown to us, something that money can’t buy. And that’s her faith in the lord. Sue, it’s a real pleasure, fancy meeting up with a friend of Alex Romanov, when browsing for a song. What’s the odds on that happening. Cheers, Sue 😉Stan🏴
Oh.. How I wish that I would have been to this concert in person!.. Just ever so special a program filled with such a beautiful variety of choice of music..(I am ever so thankful that on TH-cam we can pull it up whenever we feel like it.. This was my 4th time watching it .. This time I watched it with my Norwegian, Swedish father who at one year was president of the Sons of Norway in Salt Lake City.. He is now 90 years old and doesn't have much longer to be with us .. but oh.. how he also enjoyed this heavenly program.. OH.. MY.. JUST... ever so THANKFUL TO BE ABLE TO HEAR THIS HEAVENLY PROGRAM AND PRECIOUS heavenly voice, words, music and spirit that Sissel puts forth .. Just ever so so heavenly with her unique heavenly divine spirit and soul that she posses .. Such a divine daughter of our Heavenly Father
THIS WAS YOURS!🎉🎉🎉 when I saw it my little Norwegian heart danced. My Morfar was from Norway 🇳🇴. He was a master carpenter and would carve those designs.
And the answer is, she is the only female vocalist to review a standing ovation from The Tabernacle Choir. And the answer is - Sissel. The greatest soprano - ever .

…there power is (wie eine Wand) unbreaklable…
alles gute zum neuen Jahr
und liebt euer Leben 🙋♂️
The lady can sing. A real treat. Thanks to all for this.
Hey thank u for sharing your beautiful message about the Pioneers journey across the country.. I remember being a beehive hearing true events about the Pioneers.. Awe ...! My heart cried for em .. ❤️🙌🏽👏🏾🙏🙋🏻♀️
Can't stop listening, Sissel has a mesmerizing voice.. I've just discovered her and it's amazing.
She was so good... and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir At Temple Square. I Loved It.
This was my first Pioneer Day concert I have ever attended and I have never sat so close to the stage before, I was so grateful to hear Sissel, such an angelic voice that stilled my heart ♥️ she inspires me.
Marvelous Voices & Sentimental Songs...it's Excelent !!!
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Her voice is the voice of angels; her laughter is like the sound of ideal bells.
She was just as wonderful this time as she was last time!
AMEN!!! Happy Sunday to you all our precious brother's and sister's and precious families. We love you all because OUR HEAVENLY FATHER'S LOVES you all the first.

48:10 Laying down with eyes closed imagining the Savior standing near me while listening to the song slow down was a wonderful spiritual experience .
I know that my Redeemer lives, I owe everything to Him.
Thanks Choir , Orquesta, Maestro and especially Sissel.
Fortunate enough to be there Friday night. This concert was great! It solidified her place as the best guest artist ever.
I have great admiration for this wonderful choir. I don't think there is anything in the world of this kind. Heartwarming every time I listen to this beautiful orchestra. God bless you
Been listening to the Choir for 82 years and it has been and continues to be a great pleasure. Thanks MTC!
39:59 I really love this song. Great singing 👍
This choir and everyone associated with it is a treasure!
All Honor to the Choir, Orchestra & Conductor for their Summer Evening Celebrations of a truly great Heritage.🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
When I saw several weeks ago on Sissel's website that she was going to be in Salt
Lake City, I so wanted to go.
Thank you, choir, orchestra, director, Ms Sissel! I cannot even imagine more beautiful, uplifting, comforting and inspiring music!!
Here is a Great LADY who sings like a Great LADY!!!!
I wish l could have seen this in person. It was off the charts. Congratulations to all.
What makes your singing this song {How Great Thou Art] so meaningful, is that you beleive!
My very favourite hymn!
I loved the song the first time i heard it 3 wks ago [Slow Down], the more i listen to it the more the more i love it. I have heard it about 30 time, Sissel is in such good voice that it still brings on the chills!!!!
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Here voice is like an angel. when she did sing slow down...
Sissel is amazing and, of course, so is the choir and orchestra!
Sue Sturges, And so say “ all of us”
Words spoken from the ❤️mean a great deal, some time you stumble across a “hidden gem” a shining light that cannot be dimmed. and this “beautiful “ lady, who sings like a nightingale, takes pride of place. Sissel, has shown to us, something that money can’t buy.
And that’s her faith in the lord.
Sue, it’s a real pleasure, fancy meeting up
with a friend of Alex Romanov, when browsing for a song. What’s the odds on
that happening. Cheers, Sue 😉Stan🏴
The music was outstanding and very inspirational. I would also like to thank the photographers for their excellent work. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful. Slow Down. I hear you, Lord.
Having the opportunity to incorporate my Norwegian Rosemaling on panels throughout the stage was an honor and delight.
THIS WAS YOURS!🎉🎉🎉 when I saw it my little Norwegian heart danced. My Morfar was from Norway 🇳🇴. He was a master carpenter and would carve those designs.
That made me in tears! My family comes from Telemark the place of the roots of Rosemaling
And the answer is, she is the only female vocalist to review a standing ovation from The Tabernacle Choir. And the answer is - Sissel. The greatest soprano - ever .
When she sang Slow Down I could feel her pure spirit. It was awesome
