This winch install looks to be a major installation requiring two people. It is a shame the longer bolts didn't come with the kit! It is hard enough to do this work without having to video tape and talk your way through for the audience! Very very well done !!! 👍👍👍
I learned really fast that I have to add a couple hours to the installs to account for the recording! There's a lot more to it than I realized when I started this channel! 😂This kit will definitely be easier with a helper for sure, and it is very frustrating that Warn didn't seem to provide the hardware necessary. That being said it's absolutely doable at home and I hope this video helps if you plan to tackle it! Thank you for watching and for the support!!
Great video. 18:38 I know there has been a lot of debate about direct wiring vs wiring to a solenoid. I found it noteworthy that my 2024 JLUR with the factory winch is wired direct as best I can tell, at least I know there is no switch required and it is hot with the key off.
@@TealOxAdv That’s interesting! I know a lot of people don’t wire through a switch, but you would think Jeep would lean towards the safest option and have a kill switch.
@@BreacherUpOffroadCustoms, I thought the same thing. If there is a solenoid, it is on some type of long delay ignition triggered timer. I know because I am using the Warn Bluetooth remote through my phone and it stays live as best I can tell.
For your license plate mount, check out Cascadia 4x4. Specifically their FLIPSTER V3 [WINCH LICENSE PLATE MOUNTING SYSTEM]. I’ve used this product on two separate Jeeps and found it to work great. It gets the license plate up higher and keeps the sun off the synthetic rope.
@@TealOxAdv Yeah honestly that’s the better way to do it and what we did for both installs. When I recorded this one I wanted to try it out just to see if it would work so I could throw it in the video for everyone else to know.
@@BreacherUpOffroadCustoms Thanks. The 2020 (Teal Ox) probably cost as much to build up as the 2024 (Apollo²) did to buy. 😳 But it is always fun building them.
Great job showing the installation. Thank you! Would you happen to know if Zeon XD 12s would fit in the bumper as well? I have a 2024 Gladiator rubicon X and figure the 12s for the extra weight.
Yep the Warn Zeon XD 12-S will definitely fit. It’s the same width as our 10-S and the Gladiators have the same frame width as the JLs. Thanks for watching!
where did you get the solenoid / and mount for solenoid from and the extra cable for the winch? going try and do the same setup as yours. just need part #'s and brand etc
The solenoid is the “power interrupter kit” part number 62132. It is directly from Warn. The mount we used we just picked up at Home Depot and threw some black paint on it. Hope that helps!
Two quick questions: 1) Would you assume the Zeon 8-S is a little bit lighter in terms of overall weight? I couldn't seem to find that information on the Warn website and I'm not looking for anything super-duty. Sounds like the 8-S matches up a little better in terms of factory suspension settings, etc. 2) I like the bumper-mounted grill guard on your Jeep. Can you share the brand and model of the guard? Thank you.
I don’t know why they make the weights so hard to find! I tried to look up that info for a comparison video I’m going to do between the Evo and Zeon XD. I would think it’s definitely lighter but I doubt it’s by much. I wish I had better info for you. I’m still going to do some more searching and I will let you know if I find anything.
@@MJOG Those are from Utah Design Foundry! They are a great addition if you’re running the stubby. I have a short in my videos if you want to get a better look at them.
Nice work boss … need a help if you don’t mind would you be willing to give away the top center plate time stamp 2.50 sec which has 5 bolts ? I can pay for the shipping. Let me know

Well that’s good to know. I need to get mine set up on the app just haven’t had the time. How do you like it?
Appreciate your responses. And ... love your ride! I can probably handle the grille guard but not the winch!! :)
Thank you! The grille guards a good start then maybe you can tackle the winch!
Nice job on the video. It’s definitely a bit more work than it looks like.

30:26 We bought longer Grade 8 bolts so we could mount through the winch plate on the Steel Bumper installs we’ve done for friends.

Just got one 40% off for my Bronco I’m excited to install
Heck yeah that’s an amazing deal!
Cascades 4x4 has a license plate mount for the fairlead. Highly suggested.
I will check that out! I still haven't done anything with it so far. It's annoying having to straighten it back out after every car wash...
