This show was based on comics created long before Lost came around. Stan Lee and company were writing stories like these since before Lost writers, etc., were even born.
For people who are close to 30, Mr and Mrs October seem to have a really inaccurate grasp of the later half of the 20th century. Sometimes they say things and I'm like, "you guys aren't 15, how do you not know this"? Still love their videos, just saying.
@@hypersleepdialogues8889true!! Like not knowing what Sears is/was!
To further your point; an argument could be made that they learned some of their storytelling from Stan and Jack.
@@Uatu-the-Watcher Yep 👍
You actually saw a Thor variant briefly called Throg, a frog Thor variant
"Damn, you look pretty today."
"You look handsome."
"Thank you."
You two are adorable.
The part where all the Lokis betrayed each other is probably my favorite MCU moment.
yessss that was such a great moment :)
Older Loki is rocking the comic accurate costume, just FYI!
yes he is.... freakin LOVE that they got Richard E Grant for that role.... amazing :)
Thank God for an upload my TH-cam feed was dry until this 🙌 🙏
Big fax
Kang the Conqueror first appeared in Avengers #8 in 1964. He was a scientist, scholar and inventor from the 31st century, also a possible descendant of both Doctor Doom and Reed Richards. He traveled through time, conqueroring entire timelines and controlling the flow of time and events within the timestream. He is a frequent enemy of both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. He has many variants among the timestreams, included but not limited to Rama-Tut, Immortus, Scarlet Centurion, Victor Timely and Iron Lad.
Now that Sylvie killed HWR she basically tore the multiverse wide open
He Who Remains is SO GOOD. So compelling. Argh. Can't wait until you guys get to Season 2.
The last 2 episodes of S2 are some of my favorite TV ever. Executed perfectly!
"You did this!" In the comics Loki did cut Lady Sif's hair, which caused it to change from gold to the black color.
Old Loki is dressed similar to how Loki was originally in the comics.
Alligator Loki says, "It wasn't a cat, it was a flirkin!" 😆
this makes me so sad about how that woman did Jonathan majors smh
sucks!
Was legitimately so excited to see him return, hope that woman has a terrible life genuinely. Hope things go bad for her time after time after time
So you guys finally met He Who Remains, as he explained it himself, he's a tame variant of Kang the Conqueror who comes from the 31st century. In the comics he's one of the first Avengers villains and he's basically the "new Thanos" of the Multiverse Saga
That particular Kang is Not the 31st century Kang. Please watch back and catch it. TVA Kang quickly refers to 31st century Kang and he's not Him.
In the comics thats who he who remains was, i believe thats what OP is referring to.@bradleywhite5849
Is he though?
Jonathan Majors, the actor who played Kang was convicted for domestic abuse and Disney cut him from everything.
So far I've heard different news every few weeks on how they proceed now. If they keep Kang but with a different actor or if they go for another villain altogether.
The last bit I read was that they were done with Kang.
ayyyyyyee been waiting for this. S2 is even better
"it's cold"
>literal frost giants
21:00 Oldman Loki is wearing Loki's original comic book costume.
I am so excited for y'all to see season 2! I think you will like it a lot!
The brink of genius, the first sandwich 😂😂😂😂
1x4: Hunter B-15 crying in the rain is a nod to Blade Runner(1982), and it was terrific to see Lady Sif again. During this episode, young Sylvie was played by Cailey Fleming. Cailey Fleming gained recognition for portraying Judith Grimes on the popular AMC horror-drama TV show The Walking Dead from 2018 to 2022. Additionally, she showcased her talent by playing the young versions of Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) and Sylvie in Loki (2021). 1x5: Kid Loki held a Hi-C Ecto Cooler. Classic Loki laughing at Alioth was a fantastic scene. The attire of Classic Loki pays homage to the original outfit Loki wore in the Marvel comics. Alligator Loki was the MVP of this episode. In the Void, we see Throg in the jar. Also, see Yellow Jackets helmet, 1x6: The Miss Minutes jumpscare was terrifying. Loki sees the Kang the Conqueror statue at the TVA, and it brings back memories of the iconic movie Planet Of The Apes.
Where the Kang statue is used to be statues of the 3 Time Keepers. Loki now realizes he's not back in the TVA he knows.
The Loki series is my favorite. The Second Season begins immediately after the First. you can watch right away
Fan theory / head canon is that old Loki practiced making Asgard so many times with his magic since it made him feel less lonely, that’s why he was able to scale an illusion up to the size of a city
In the end, he was the only Loki to fulfill is glorious purpose
@@mobster9675 that’s a load of BS but I can’t explain why without spoilers. Just look at what happens in S2 for proof your wrong
The thing with our "main" Loki is that he actually has made a big shift. A big shift for a Loki, but... if anything, that's a huge shift. He actually cares about others. His brother, Sylvie, Mobius, Hunter B15. He is legitimately trying to do something good, but because of who he is... no one really believes him. Even you guys had trouble believing him, and that's Loki's curse. I know it is a ways off, but I 10/10 can't wait for you guys to get to Loki season 2. If you thought THIS was nuts...
just stay with the release order..dont rush into S2..you'll get there..yes, Black Widow is next, then Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings, What If, The Eternals, Hawkeye, Spiderman No Way Home, Moon Knight, Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Ms Marvel, Thor Love and Thunder, She Hulk, Werewolf by Night, Black Panther Wakanda Forever, Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special..again, not all are Top-tier, but significant..just stay the course..just enjoy the ride..and yes, the Multiverse Saga is still ongoing..
At some point, President Loki has to show up again with a hook for a hand!
The memory prison with Sif is based off actual Norse Mythology. Thor was married to Sif, who had long, beautiful hair. While supposedly drunk Loki cut her hair off in such a way it would never grow back. The difference is Thor went to talk to Loki, and threatened to break every bone in Loki's body every single day until Loki fixed it. This happens to be the event that got Thor his hammer, Mjolnir.
Also, as soon as HWR mentioned "a conqueror" for his Variants, I realized who this is, and just how dangerous he is.
We meet one of his Variants in Ant-Man: Quantumania, as well. Well, several of them, in the after credits.
Sadly, that timeline has been erased.
So the story iv heard is that the first sandwich was made, well requested by a poker player. He been playing for a while and got hungry and didn't want to leave the game. Idk when this was but he was playing poker and didn't want grease on his hands and cards so he asked for another slice of bread on top of all the toppings.
Idk if this is the actual story but seems like it could be true.
Episode 4 "What did she do?", she didn't fulfill her role as a Loki. She wanted to be a hero, not a villain.
yeah, I think why there havent been any other female lokis (at least in the void at the end of time) is because of the Valkyries. As a girl Loki could join them and gain some discipline and become a better person and a hero. So most girl versions of Loki get pruned very early because it's so much more likely they will deviate from the role they are "supposed" to play. Damn, Now I want to see a female version of Thor that was a Valkyrie!
Loki is literally one of the best mcu characters ever, S2 of this show & S1 are just chefs kiss for lack of a better term. Loki is goated to an unbelievable degree & no spoilers for them!
Loki seasons 1 and 2 are my favorite MCU projects since Endgame.
Def the best show they’ve made since endgame, idc what anybody says, your smoking crack if you think wandavision is better than Loki
39:38 Nop, you guys aren't understanding. Loki cannot go back to his timeline as its erased. So he doesn't need to die.
This is because the TVA has reset the timeline... erase the branch where Loki escaped. Now they cannot put him back on the main/sacred timeline as there will be 2 Lokis. One in the main timeline and one from the erased timeline. So what to do with him, you either prune him or make him work for the TVA.
"Cosmically epic"
Season 2 is holding on line 1...
Mrs. Roctober always looks beautiful. ✌️
That final scene in Episode 6 was my all time favorite in the MCU. Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains crushed it!
Absolutely LOVE the LOST references, that’s right where my intent tv watching began, back when it was first airing. That show was simply incredible
loki cutting off sif's hair is an old legend borrowed straight out of norse mythology, ultimately resulting in thor getting his famed hammer:
"further in skáldskaparmál, snorri relates a story where loki cuts off sif's hair as a prank. when thor discovers this, he grabs hold of loki, resulting in loki swearing to have a headpiece made of gold to replace sif's locks. loki fulfills this promise by having a headpiece made by dwarfs, the sons of ivaldi. along with the headpiece, the dwarfs produced odin's spear, gungnir. as the story progresses, the incident leads to the creation of the ship skíðblaðnir and the boar gullinbursti for freyr, the multiplying ring draupnir for odin, and the mighty hammer mjöllnir for thor" (wikipedia)
I can't wait for y'all. I have to go re re re watch season 2 now.😍😍 Loved your reactions to this season! Thanks Mr. and Mrs!
No problem with the Lost references as long as it helps you absorb the story
Think you guys really skimmed over the fact that, that Loki “killed Thor” no chance our Loki could have killed Thor, maybe he could have but it wouldn’t have been easy. I’d say the kid Loki is a superior Loki to our Loki, he accomplished more in 15 years or less than Loki did in his entire life. Nobody ever killed Thor that we met but that Loki did, thanos w all infinity stones didn’t kill Thor (given he didn’t try to, easily could have just snapped him but still)
& old Loki is 100% WAY stronger than our Loki, he made our Loki say “I think we’re stronger than we think/know” he inspired our Loki to be a stronger version of himself
the tva first appearance was in 1986. so the storyline has been around since then, at least in the mcu.
Apparently Sylvie wanted to become a Valkyrie as Thor confessed he wanted until he found out they were all women...
The thing with Loki goes beyond being a narcissist, he's a sociopath, that's why he do things for no reason and seems like if he enjoys chaos.
And the thing with sociopaths is that they're not born, they're made through too many emotional trauma.
As opposite of psychopaths who feel nothing, sociopaths feel too much,to the point of shutting down their empathy and remorse just as a way of protecting themselves, that's why they're so erratic as well, because they hold most of everything until snapping, and all of that push people away.
Surprisingly a lot of sociopaths are actually selfaware, they recognize how disconnected from everything they feel and hate themselves for being that way, that's why most of them end up in addictions or worse.(That's why Loki infuriated once he was told that his existence was to provoke chaos)
Also they constantly sabotage themselves, and push away those who want to be near them, felling in the end of the day completely alone...(Which it's literally Loki's behavior through most of the MCU)
So Loki isn't actually evil but just a broken person,in the first episode he confessed that he doesn't enjoy causing pain, that it's just an illusion to inspire fear and avoid getting hurt.(Proving he is in fact selfaware)
Then after he's recaptured,he talked to Mobius referring to himself as a self sabotage machine.
The torture he was put through was HIS most painful memory in 5 thousand years of life, and it was nothing the knee or the punch but to hear someone from his personal circle telling him he's destinate to live and die alone.(Potentially what pushed him into wanting to either take Thor's place or forcing people to love him by taking the throne)
And ironically by falling in love with Sylvie he's not necessarily embracing a narcissist personality but just projecting on her the love he DOESN'T give to himself, accepting finally that there's a side of him that deserves good in life...
56:30 oh yall need to watch ‘Dune’ pt 1 & 2. gonna be right up your alley
Season 2 is gonna blow your guys mind
14:50 Well Loki's fate in the sacred timeline is that he does become good. He wanted to be a brother to Thor again. And when he gets that chance to be a good person, he's fated to die immediately at Thanos' hands. Accdg to the TVA, his fate is to always be a villain or die.
Slyvie got taken because she dreamed of becoming a Valkyrie, the noble female soldiers of Asgard. Loki became a villain when his jealousy of Thor grew and wanted to be Asgard's king. Sylvie had no ambition to be queen, so she and her Thor would never fight. That's a violation of her villainous fate.
I remember when I saw the series lost and thought how much they took out of the Marvel series :)
Of course when you talked about lost over the important or best lines you miss a bunch of stuff and then don’t understand the show.. but hey i guess lost was good
Hey Octobers!! Happy Monday! Finishing my day watching you and The Voice in the background. Loki is such a fantastic show!
~Rosie! I love these two!~
Woohoo! Loki season 1 in the books, i can't believe you've reached this point 😭
Im glad you enjoyed it and i think when you get to Season 2, you're going to REALLY enjoy it. Of course, without spoilers (i saw some comments on here spoil some things so do be careful!), i must tell you that there are a lot of call backs to season 1. Keep that in mind!
Just to clarify a few things:
- The "line" outside the Citadel is the Sacred Timeline
- Your summary of what is basically going on is mostly correct. HWR, from the 31st century, got involved in a multiversal war against variants of himself. He used Alioth to devour these "other universes/timelines" and basically created the TVA to help keep his isolated universe/timeline (Aka "The Sacred Timeline" or the one the MCU has been following) flowing. HWR created this script to ensure his variants do not pop up again. That's why the TVA prunes any branches that deviate from the script. When Sylvie killed him, all those new branches are new universes/timelines (with different variants) being created. Remember this as it's important for future projects.
- While i figured you'd enjoy the actor's performance as HWR, i see from the comments that people informed you of his unfortunate firing from Marvel. Please do not let that put a damper on your expectations. The character itself WILL still continue.
Cheers guys!
he who remains is a variant of Nathaniel Richards (long time descendant of Reed Richards, Mr fantastic). he was 1 of the more calm and benevolent versions. the worst variant is now coming... Kang the conqueror
Well that was the plan but after what's happened with actor Jonathan Majors I don't know exactly what step they'll go
Ditto on comment # 61. I can not WAIT till you get to seas 2. I almost wanna tell you to watch it now but you CANT!! There’s a bit of meh stuff coming with some GREAT stuff mixed in. Love you guys! Season 2 is so good! The ending got me all misty 🤫
Renslayer starts blatantly lying
Mrs October: hey that’s just like my sister!
When y'all said merr-man, "The Cabin in the Woods" popped in my head, if y'all ain't seen that flick, thats a winner, both of u would be really into it!!!
I hope you guys do watch everything in release order and wait to watch season 2 in it's appropriate slot, but just a friendly encouragement that in your own personal time see if you can binge watch this series again so that it's fresh in your mind before you watch season 2. You won't regret it.
Enjoyed your reaction. 👍 There’s a Season 2 of Loki which is really good as well.
Loving all the marvel reactions... Now you seen "he who remains" i suggest catching up on the marvel movies & hawkeye also.
He Who Remains is from the far future in every universe (or most universes). But he can travel through time AND universes. So he is in 'our' timeline, but isn't born until the far future. If that makes any sense. The multiverse war hasn't happened yet. But has already happened if you travel to the end of time.
He Who Remains: See you soon…
Translation: One of my variants will see you in Quantumania.
Your relationship is so cute to see.
Two uploads in a day you guys are spoiling us❤
Nearly 2 weeks since the latest GoT upload is a bit wild lads
Ew. You're one of those.
All you need to remember going forward is
"Glorious Purpose" !!!!!!
That frog was Thor trapped
Wait till you see season 2 on how Loki upgrade from villain to hero
So that wasn't antman in the jar it was a frog version of Thor aka throg
Season 2 is somehow even better
Idk bout the multi-verse, but there are multiple versions of u, up until present, flying throughout the universe out there... U know how it takes time for light to travel, well, depending on where u are in the universe, the light reaching that area is past tense, which means that ur whole life, every second of it is playing out among the stars up until present time here on Earth... u, or someone u know being born, being a lil kid, growing up, laughing, every second of their or ur existence is flying around the universe on a beam of light, kinda crazy to think about... If u put it in the realm of someones death, yes, their light went out from our perspective here on Earth, but their light & life is still flying & playing out throughout the universe & for some reason, that brings me a sort of peace in the sorrow of losing someone who passed away... I know it's a different perspective but its 100% true just going on basic physics...
i cannot wait until you guys watch season 2 its the best thing marvel has put out imo. I love Loki soooo much
This is why phase 4,5 and 6 is called the multiverse saga. Just like phase 1,2,and 3 were the infinity stone saga. Hope you keep watching the shows. Good reaction
All these storylines come from years of comics. Years before Lost 😂
October fam we here!!
Hey, hope this finds u well. Love Loki and Mobius' relationship, so fun. Leave it to Loki to fall in love with himself (Sylvie) lmao, love it. Id always be visiting the 70s, lol. I def would spend every wkend in the most historic, amazing places. Visuals r everything to me in a film. Havent had a chance to watch ur reactions to Wandavision, but Im spending my Tuesday binge watchin' and a few other ones Im behind on. Wanda, The Scarlet Witch is one of top 3 Avengers, in my opinion shes the most powerful of the Avenger. Thanx so much, take care, Peace
Now that I think about it... shouldn't Sylvie have been snuffed out right from birth? Isn't the whole thing about the TVA to snip out all the other timelines, preventing the formation of a multiverse? That means Sylvie's branch would've been alive for years before the TVA did something about it.
Yup. There you go! Let's go
YASSSS IT'S LOKI TIME👏🏽👏🏽💚💚
Possible spoiler for the matrix. You compare the Loki series to the Lost TV show but in fact it's more comparable to The matrix if you really think about it. Loki is Neo with Sylvie representing Trinity and he who remains being the architect. Mobius is Morpheus and input Miss minutes in place of the oracle. The only difference is if Neo aka Loki doesn't make the right choice he remains will become a equal threat that agent Smith became by the end of the trilogy. Although it's hard to make that connection because in the case of the Loki series they seem to take more inspiration from the 4th installment of the matrix movies and extended that story as if it was the first installment of the franchise.
You will see this actor playing Kang a couple more times, but the actor was fired after his conviction for assault. They are recasting Kang or might replace Kang with another bad guy. Black Widow takes place mostly between Infinity War and Endgame. You need to watch it before Hawkeye. Also the TVA is in Deadpool and Wolverine movie.
Just wait till you get to season 2. 🎉🎉🎉
The next in line is the what if? Tv show and since you enjoyed loki you'll probably like this one too and then its the introduction of a new solo character movie shang-chi
As Thanos was the big bad in the Infinity Saga, Kang is the Big Bad of the Multiverse Saga. You guys are in for a ride.
I've never hated Lost more.
Lost did not explain what the button really was going to do when they had to make the decision. He Who Remains thoroughly and unambiguously explained what the choice would mean. Lost was cool, but it had a lame explanation in the end. Loki has top tier explaining. Don't compare. LOL. Loki is better.
Hopefully, you start season 2 soon 😁
That means Now the Multiverse Exist
PLEASE React to these Action & Comedies or Both: Starring Chris Evans Cellular The Ringer, Date Night, Big Stan, Netflix Gabriel Iglesias: Stadium Fluffy, Netflix Jo Koy: Don't Make Him Angry, and Fire Up
When loki and sylvie are talking to he who remains and there's the distant rumble he's detecting the events from the latest spiderman movie but your not there yet. Things in other movies will be referenced here in this show again
I come here for the awesome reactions, and stick around for the MMA commentary
The TVA works to keep the Sacred Timeline intact. The key incident involving Loki is that he brings the Avengers together as a team to fight against him and the Chitauri in Avengers 1. Sylvie's crime against the sacred timeline... she was playing with Valkyrie toys when she was arrested. Remember in Thor Ragnarok that Thor admits to playing with Valkyrie toys and wishing he was a Valkyrie. Sylvie was doing the same thing. In that moment, Sylvie decided that she wanted to be a hero, a Valkyrie. The TVA could not allow it. She has to be the bad guy that brings the Avengers together. The TVA exists to prevent free will.
When Loki first introduces himself to Nick Fury in The Avengers movie, he introduces himself as, "Loki of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose." That is just how he frames himself in his own mind I suppose. He believes that he has a burden to fulfill a glorious purpose. That's just what Lokis desire to do, I suppose.
Thanks to Mr. & Mrs. October! 😈
I think another thing that makes it comparable to The Wizard of Oz, is the acting. It is said that the actors for the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Lion were all really competitive, and trying to one up each other in their scenes. The acting in this feels like all of them really want to go big. When we get to He Who Remains he just takes it to another level, but it makes sense as the climax/finale. I feel like the cast plays off each other so well. Not a dull moment or wasted line.
22:44 Lokator sounds cool for an alligator!
It was not stated in the show, but people believe that Sylvie was charged because she chose to be good (playing a hero, asking to help the guy in TVA).
Anytime entertainment wants to set a creepy/sci-fi mood they use a Theramin. Best use though was the Beach Boys song Good Vibrations 👍
Everyone should see the original Wizard of Oz at least once. 😅
There is the time Loki enchanted Thor into a frog...creating Throg. Thor vol. 1 #364 February 1986 artist and writer Walt Simonson. 😂
Ravonna Renslayer is the love interest of a certain Time Traveling Supervillain.
That last statue wasn't He Who Remains but a much much more nastier variant. First appearance Avengers vol. 1 #8 September 1964 writer Stan Lee artist Jack Kirby. 😮
The person who invented the sandwich was the Earl Of Sandwich in the 1600s England. He was a big gambler and would gamble into the night. Rather than stop gambling to have dinner, he asked for his dinner to be put between two slices of bread so he could eat while he gambled and the sandwich was born and why it is named after him.
Civilisation was a lot older than 10,000 years as there are castle and civilisations in Africa way older than that. The problem was there was an agenda to erase African history in the west due to colonialism and slavery because they wanted to dehumanise Black people to justify these immoral things so that meant erasing the history older than 400 years of Africans. It took till 2005 to finally prove Africans had mental Armour, pottery, cutlery any centuries before they appeared anywhere else. They found the items in 1940 and the archaeologists refused to accept Africans had these things first and they carbon dated all these things and found they were oldest version of armour, pottery and cutlery in the world.
He Who Remains is the variant the actual character is Kang the Conqueror. This is because he’s trying to conquer all the rest of his versions. This character makes Thanos look like an amateur. This story arc was intended to reset the MCU and bring the X-men and Fantastic Four back into the universe and tie all the other Marvel stuff that was made into the actual MCU but the actor that played He Who Remains got into some trouble and was fired by Disney so it’s hard to say exactly what they are going to do but they’re still planning on doing Secret Wars. Exactly how they get there is hard to say for now.
Kang (he who remains) is from the 31st century. He's the descendant of another Marvel character in an upcoming movie. So no, he didn't exist with Thanos at the same time. He time travels so he does encounter Thanos and other present day characters, but they're not from the same time.
That wasn’t antman. It was throg. A variant of Thor who is a frog
The statue at the end wasn't of He Who Remains. The TVA only exists after the multiversal war. So when Sylvie killed He Who Remains she started a new multiversal war between all of He Who Remains' variants. When Loki went back to the TVA, there was a statue of Kang the Conqueror, the worst variant. Kang won the second multiversal war instead of He Who Remains. That's how I understood it.
Well remember how time works in the mcu. You can't change the past and alter the future. BUT. Since the tva exists outside of time, it loosely DOES work that way. Remember where Loki starts out in season 2, I won't say anything because of spoilers. But when he was pushed through the time door, he landed somewhere else than where he was before. So, seeing as that statue wasn't He Who Remains, maybe, it is a different version of the tva than we were used to.

The multiverse war is a concept from the Secret war marvel comics.
