Funny you should say that the fish looks 3D, because it's computer animated! ufotable going deep into the CGI this season has had quite a few fans and viewers on the fence. Personally, I think it looks great! The animators did a splendid job of blending the elements and the creatures.
That scene where he cuts off the demons foot and hides it is a call back to the first episode when he threw the rocks at Giyu then hid his arms to hide the fact he threw his axe. Didn't realize that until I rewatched it on your reaction. Genya is the Denis Rodman of Demon Slayer, the jerk that is cool when he's on your team getting screwing w/the opponent but you cannot stand to be around the rest of the time; he also has unbelievable next level stamina to keep going harder and longer then anyone else.

The rest of the Upper rank sees her as a nuisance and their first instinct is to put her in a position where she can't move until the sun rises because its torturous that way.
The villagers have bunch of nichirin swords but to fight demons or to really kill them one should reach certain level of swordsmanship and get the nichirin to change colors. And you're right to decapitate someone you need a strong swing too so they don't really have the skill to fight demons (not to mention upper moons). I can't wait to see the reveal of Genya's combat style. His brother is one of my fav Hashira besides Kyojuro 👍
