      I never thought I would go vegan but did so for ethical reasons once I learned about the meat industry and it turned out to be the best decision for my health as well.

      The first time i watched a slaughterhouse video i knew i had to go vegan. It was about a year before i actually fully made the switch since i was living on a college campus and eating from a meal plan which meant it was basically impossible to be vegan. Now I have been vegan for a year and it was the best decision of my life. Andre i suggest you look into it

    I thought this video was so incredibly helpful and a brilliant discussion about the supplementation and needs for going vegan keto without getting too specific onto meal plans or whatnot. It would be great to see a video on meal planning for vegan keto as well, but this was truly informative. Thank you!

    You really got me with this video. I’ve been watching your videos for about a week now to get workout tips but this one topped all of them in terms of respect for you. I have been vegetarian for a long time now and am almost vegan. It is so cool that you are vegan and as big as you are, but even cooler that you are vegan for the reason that you shared in this video.

    Hey Ryan thanks for the vid. Love your work. Been training in ketosis for a while now (yes you can lose fat and gain muscle). Was thinking about going vegan but kind of gave up when I found out buying all those supplements and food is like 3-4 times the price of my regular meals..     Thanks Ryan. Good video. I just have to say, I seriously hurt myself with protein powders. The best I found was a simple pea protein isolate, and I was trying to balance it out by adding magnesium, fiber, and MCT oil, because it's not a whole food. I was addicted to the convenience of it. I got to where I was using it about 3 times a day. I'm still doing Keto, and usually vegan, but I can't touch the protein powders. I'm still working on my liver. I did a lot of pea protein for years. Perhaps you're just using one serving a day and more vegetables than I did... Protein powder doesn't compare to whole food, which is the answer I have to go with now as I heal.

    I could never be vegan for both ethical and biological reasons but respect anybodies right to be who you are and I gotta admit that your content has become required viewing for me. The keto advice crosses the spectrum as it's just ratios of your macros but this gave me some insight for some of my own clients who may want to explore vegan options. Thanks Ryan.

    I would love to know how you compose your vegan keto "meals". Just shakes and some spoonfuls of oil? (I´m vegan and cutting)

      Shakes for protien....and you can make fat bombs and fat shakes with some berries and kale/greens for a good tasting, keto smoothie. Aside from that you can literally have basically as many steamed, sauteed, pan fried veggies and healthy oils and fats as you want. It sounds limiting at first but really it's not. The only thing that's really hard is protien without shakes. But I feel so much better and the benefits of ketosis are so amazing that it's totally worth it. Get some hemp heart protien and pea protien...eat lots of seeds and nuts and nut butters. Go look up vegan keto meals. Here's a tasty quick one. A burrito without the tortilla. Grill up some veggies, throw some lettuce on them when it's done and put some salsa and guac on them. Tastes just like a burrito (obviously) without the carbs. Throw some low carb tempeh in if you want protien. I could go on nd on about the possibilities. Just takes a shift in mindset and a willingness to research a little bit. I thought it was impossible at one point and not realistic at all for long term. I was wrong. It's easy. You eat less meals becase you aren't as hungry without those insulin spikes from carbs. More energy and less dips throughout the day. Grocery bill gets cheaper once you get the hang of it too. And there is a ton of variety once you learn to get creative. You can make some vegan keto wraps and make veggie sandwiches with lots of avacado, nut butter sandwiches with coconut oil, all kinds of possibilities. Dip raw veggies in almond butter, tahini, or guac....lots of stuff you can do. As long as you stay off carbs and fill up on that stuff...you don't miss the carbs.

    Protein Amounts and Timing- For building muscle, how often do you eat protein? If you eat it all at once will you lose the anabolic response and will it turn to glucose? But if you space it every couple of hours, will it spike insulin and kick you out of ketosis? Thank you in a advance for your thoughts.

    What's wrong with soy? There's a meta analysis that states it causes no hormonal change in men, and it also has all essential aminos

      This is true, save actually seen two separate meta analyses and both came to the same conclusion. Soy is a great vegan option, especially if you're an athlete.

    Great information. I had absolutely no idea about Pea Protein. I'm not a vegan, am a Type 1 Diabetic and was able to get on an insulin pump and Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGM). I just want to be healthier. I cut 35 lbs in 3 years (slow but steady) and looking to increasing my protein intake while not consuming too many carbs. This may be the ticket.     Thank you for the video! I am vegan, 70% RAW keto. I eat 1 time a day rounded tbsp of spirulina + 1 tbsp of linseed oil, and I thought I cover my need in EPA/DHA. Is that true or linseed oil with ALA doesn't convert in DHA at all?

    Not sure if youll see this but you say to stay away from soy cause of the omega 6. Is unsweetened soymilk okay? I hear it has omega 6 and omega 3 and its supposed to be really good for your heart etc. But if not im down to just switch to pea milk cause ive had it before and its really good too.

    Eat some vital wheat gluten. 75g of protein 12g of carbs per 100g. You can eat around 50g of gluten in a day and be fine. If you're rich buy macadamia nuts. Brazillian nuts aswell

    I find that by using copious amounts of flax and chia seeds for breakfast I can mantain an omega6:omega3 ratio of 1-2:1 even while using hemp/pumpkin/sunflower seeds to get my protein. I'll add an algae oil supplement just to be safe, but I don't really want to consume protein powder

    Going to say what everyone else is saying, we need a meal prep video. I have been switching to a highly plant based, vegan 5 days a week diet, feel great, digestion is great. I have experimented with keto before that was heavily meat based and it did not agree with me. (Keto cholera) is vegan keto different in terms of digestion?
