- CNBC's Yasmin Khorram sits down with author and reporter John Carreyrou to discuss the criminal fraud trial of former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes and his new podcast: "Bad Blood: The Final Chapter."
Getting pregnant while not knowing whether you're going to prison or not is the definition of irresponsible and goes to show her lack of empathy towards the child.
She did it on purpose
I am convinced she is a narcissist and a psychopath… as if appears she had no conscience whatsoever. She doesn’t care about the people she ripped off, she doesn’t cared about the people who took her fake blood test, she doesn’t care about the one employee she drove to suicide and she doesn’t care about her child…the latter is simply a means to an end.
I know she is wrong, but j wonder if your life is perfect

She's WASP and her family are wealthy. If she gets prison time it's 8 months in an open air facility with a tennis court and a day release programme. When she gets released she'll be a born again Christian and get her own talk show
Her justice system is different than ours.

@@bhalchandraganeshbhatstude8290 what does that have to do with anything?
If she’s convicted and sentenced to prison, the only one “separating a mother from her child” is her. Not the judge, not the jury.
She fell pregnant knowing that she had a court trial to undergo, how sad to find out the reason you exist is because your mom thought it might help her not to get heavy jail.. She is stone cold..
She a very bad person Would anyone be surprised that she would do this to a child
@@rudyaskitmarley5374 she has no shame or guilt in using, deceiving lying, manipulating and conning people to get what she wants, she doesn’t care about anyone else!
Moreover: I'm convinced it is better for a child to grow up with a caring mother who went through many troubles to adopt him/her, than with a manipulative criminal who likely conceived him/her so that she'd get a free "get out of prison" card.
No jail time did you see who she was strolling the lab with. Political ties
She's still shows how manipulative she is by getting pregnant at this time.

I don't know why Elizabeth Holmes being a mother would be a factor in her sentencing. Poor women convicted of lesser counts of fraud are crucified by the courts, some have their children taken away from them. If we say that there is equality before the law then she would have to face those same possibilities.
Class differences in America are the deciding factor. As a rule of thumb kids from poorer families aren't popular in school. Same goes in life and in court.

Steve Jobs was wise enough to partner with engineers (WOZ at first, many others later) who actually could translate at least some of his vision into a working product. The thin line between genius and megalomania runs exactly there, methinks
You can't engineer your way around every problem. Elizabeths vision ignored fundamental limits of lab testing - which makes sense since she dropped out of her education.
Using the typical get out of jail free cards - ' oh I was abused' is laughable & an insult to actual victims. If anyone was abusive, it was her. Soooo many victims.
It’s even more disgusting behavior that she got intentionally pregnant to delay the outcome and minimize the accountability for her crimes.

The goal was money!

Timing her pregnancy perfectly for the trial is exactly what Holmes is about, who in their right mind would think of being pregnant during a trial, going through the stress, and potentially being incarcerated. basically making use of her unborn baby to the detriment of the baby's health. Same thing in shanghai, I could arrange blood test on an app, walk to the facility, and have the result back in about 30 minutes. If she could have copied these process, it would already be a breakthrough for US
"Fake it till you make it" may be okay for software, but when you "fake it" with people's health, it's an entirely different story.
I’m sorry but just have to say that the interviewer here did not do a good job to appear unscripted/natural? So robotic… much like Elizabeth Holmes.
It was definitely distracting and dampened the outcome of what could have been a great interview.
Congrats to John Carreyrou....Genius Reporter!!! can we give him a round of applause??? incredible journalism, my goodness...he even used psychology to figure this girl out.
Good timing on that pregnancy Elizabeth 👍🤔
How much you bet it's a latex pregnancy pad
Why doesn't CNBC buy decent mics and webcams for their interviewers, it's only $100/200 to sound and look professional, not like chatting to your mate on his phone
Her becoming pregnant is just tactics
Her white shirt seems to be emphasizing her “condition.” I think because she is a mom, she needs to understand responsibility; it’s one of the most important things we can teach our children.
Well Said.
I am amazed she is still out roaming free. It is just pathetic and criminal. Now on top of that she has a baby what an imposter
Yasmin suffers from serious vocal fry. Please help her.
😀😀😀
It’s awful
She has millions of fellow-sufferers, those directly afflicted, and those who hear and wince. As it happens, my company has developed an amazing, single-drop cure, which requires one last round of funding - say, in the low ten figures - to run it over the goal line.
@@GalootWrangler I’m in!
She doesn’t bother me.
Why oh why is the interviewer speaking so robotically.
Making promises you can't deliver on is a little different when you're comparing life or death to personal computers
I think even her baby would testtify against her..
My mommy is a crook... lol
LOL
Omg i hate the interviewer. The upward inflection for every question she asks is mind numbing
