Dallas Austin: Russia was Hiding Michael Jackson, America Didn't Like That (Part 13)

Part 1: • Dallas Austin on Growi...
    ---
Dallas Austin spoke about working with Michael Jackson, and said it was incredible. Austin noted that at first, it was him and MJ’s engineer, and ultimately passed because Michael wasn’t showing up to the sessions, and said there was too much funny stuff going on with the engineer that he didn’t want to be a part of. He said as a result, Michael called him personally and asked him to come to the studio, which led him to meeting Jimmy Jam.
Austin said he was more excited to meet Jimmy Jam over Michael at the moment, which led MJ to go and play tapes of hundreds of thousands people chanting his name in different countries.

The fact that Michael Jackson had better relationships with other countries than he did his own says more about the United States than it does MJ. I remember when his INVINCIBLE album dropped this was the same scenario. His album was Number 1 all over the world EXCEPT the United States courtesy of Sony and Tommy Matola.
