I think Garland's problem is the fact he didn't get the SCOTUS seat. He is a former Judge. A pretty good one from what I've read. Judges slow walk just about everything. He seems to be no exception to this. He probably would have been a good SCOTUS Judge. Most likely a probable swing vote on normal issues (not the recent ones).
Tell citizens what to do about that, besides voting. There has to be a remedy in law.

It was a mistake in the Constitution to give unlimited pardoning powers to the President. That power should have been given to an elected or appointed panel of people, not just one man.

The success of our country has depended on the wisdom, morality and altruism of the leaders we elect. Voters failed horribly in 2016 and our news media horribly failed the voters in 2016.
They did it to separate powers. In the event of a corrupt judiciary, false convictions can be reversed by the president by pardon. The problem is needing 2/3 of the Senate to remove a justice.

This is literally the same exact case for Putin, and they're operating in the same way, but far more brazenly, out in the open, and with their party and half the country's blessing. It turns out the only thing really holding us back from authoritarianism was a bunch of Democratic "norms", which they started breaking, slowly but surely until we've gotten to this point.
Now, if Trump wins, he'll never get convicted of his most serious crimes, and will use the DOJ to go after political enemies for made up crimes, despite being the actual criminal - just like Putin did with all of his enemies in politics, business and the media.
Why is anyone that is pending trial, allowed to leave their state? Did the laws change or are the courts just not enforcing them. When I was awaiting court years ago when I was 18 years old, I was absolutely NOT allowed to leave the state. Everyone crys about what these people are getting away with, but nobody seems to make these criminals follow the law.

Great point. And a little off topic, but why is the media not mentioning the conundrum of having a felon as president? At a minimum he should be on parole, he would need permission to leave the county to do anything, and there are countries that won't work with a convicted felon. While we're going on and on about Buden's cognitive abilities, can we also address the logistical problems of a convicted felon being president? Seems like the media can't walk and chew gum at the same time, can only handle one topic as nauseum.
