In theory, Placeit would be a great tool IF they would actually provide more up to date and more high quality mockups. What really confuses me in your Placeit demonstration is the fact, that the t-shirt you are using as a mockup is clearly not a Bella Canvas 3001. Isn't it against Etsy's policies to use mockups which do not accurately represent the actual product and will lead to shop suspensions? Please clarify. Thank you!
@christy81283 I agree, most of the mockups are terrible and outdated. Unfortunately, lots of TH-camrs promote this tool because they are getting paid or receive an affiliate marketing commission.
I take my place up mock-ups, remove the background. Add in a photo in the back tweak it to make it look more real and not like all the other place at mockups. There is a way to make them look more real. Have some creativity, my friends.
Exactly. I got place it last month before all of these gurus started advertising them….for a cheaper price, than I paid. I am so disappointed in their mock-ups. They’re absolutely ridiculous. They may be fine for social media, but that’s it. The aesthetic in them is horrible, really.
I've been using placeit but didn't realize you could crop so I was downloading and then cropping in another software. So glad to know I can do it all in one step.
I want to also clarify/piggyback from an earlier comment because a lot of Etsy sellers claim they were shut down because of inaccurate mockups. Since it looks like Placeit has Bella Canvas mockups, wouldn’t it just be safer to use one of those (if that’s what you’re using In Printify) instead of eyeballing another mockup that looks “close enough”?
Thank you Hannah. This is one of the most useful and clearest videos I've seen for ETDY mockups. I am happy that from what I am seeing here, that I'm doing it about 90 percent correctly, so I will fine tine it now to strive for better mockups. Thank you for reminding me why I subscribed to your channel. :)
Hi, Hannah - I had this problem with PlaceIt yesterday: I didn't know how to find the right color (Bella + Canvas heather mauve) for my mockup. I saw you do it in this video but I don't know how you knew which color to choose. Do you eyeball it? Do you have the hex codes? Thanks!
I’m not Hannah, but I go into my listing in Printify, select variations and if you hover over the selected color, it gives you the hex code. Good luck!
I would love to use placit but sadly my old computer does not like the site at all. Freezes up all the time so I clip the original mockups from the print provider & splice them into canva mockups. Though i am not the one to copy because my sales traffic sucks huge.
So, at 13:56, when you upload, you are uploading the design to Printify first? Right? And then go to Place it? Sorry, but for a newbie, I’m just a little confused. So, I need to get the formatting and sizing and pixels and all set before I go to Printify? Maybe I’m making it too complicated , lol
You actually could do this in either order. Some people make mockups first and then add to their listing. I personally just like to get the upload done on Printify first.
The problem I had with PlaceIt was they weren't the right brand of shirt even when it said it was. You could tell the details were wrong on some of them. So I didn't trust that any of them were actually what they said they were.
Hi, I love your videos. Thanks! When I create a unisex design on a unisex shirt, should I make the mock-up with a woman or a man? Wouldn’t it push away the other gender?
My only issue is finding good mock-ups to put my design on😭 bec I want it to be the actual shirt and color and some of them don't look right or look toooooo ai.
Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
The good thing about using the Printify mock-up is it is the actual product.
Totally. That's why I still like to include the plain ones as the following mockups after a more lifestyle one.

Not to mention all the AI models they’ve added that look ridiculous
I see so many people promoting place it and I don’t get it because their mockups are awful looking.

Hopefully that will save you some extra time now!

Exactly what I was thinking - I prefer to buy mocks on Etsy honestly
I wouldn't trust that. I found that a lot of the mockups are mislabeled as being certain brands that they aren't. I cancelled my subscription.
appreciate for sharing this with us, excellent video

I love kittl for mockups.
Me too i use the AI tool to create my mockup

Can a person just buy a mockup outright?
Yes
Hello! 1st comment! Hey Hannah! Can you make a video on which niches are going to blow up in 2024? Thanks!!!
So glad you want this, because my video next week talks about this very thing!
Thanks for what you do. Curious, aren't you concerned about someone - like me - who'll steal your ideas and take over the POD world as you have??
My only issue is finding good mock-ups to put my design on😭 bec I want it to be the actual shirt and color and some of them don't look right or look toooooo ai.
But I didn't know you could change the shirt colors on place it.. so that kind of like changed my game for me
Please share the name of your Etsy shop. I would love to take a peek and see what you mean in your videos.
