Big respect for doing this on the pure default settings! The start is extra rough (in terms of pollution (and extra evolution from that)) now that electric mining is a tech! But hey,at least Automation tech is no longer multiplied by 1000x, and the target priority on gun turrets looks extremely useful for "conquering" the biter nests! imo it would be excellent to have a "time played" timer on screen so we can get a deeper sense of the pain / the grind that goes into this!
@@DEMEMZEA haha, right? And yet... 100% evo start is one thing, 1000x science is... I don't know if it's harder or easier, but it's a different challenge, for sure.
obviously a ways away, but i highly recommend moving science entirely to vulcanus once you can get there maybe even just completely shut off nauvis until late game
Let me recommend strategies like placing pipes in every chunk (learned from Michael Hendriks) that count against expansion parties going into that location.
25:18 I don't really know, because enemies can't make new bases close to already existing bases, and for each building you place down the nearby chunks 'attractiveness factor' for biters decreases. So I think that a base covered in like 1000 pipes means that all the nearby chunks are invalid for enemies to expand into.
oof, ive been doing 50x with decreased evolution (don't dare to go higher on my potato laptop) and it's been painful. excited to see you tackle the challenges of 1000!
I'm interested in seeing more of this series. Even if I personally aren't a fan of exploitative mechanics like the pipe nest capture thing. But, I'm not the one playing, so do as you like. I would suggest looking into military 3 though. Out teching the biters will be really hard, but you can out industry them. Until you start getting tanks to remote control in a squadron (and even then maybe) the poison capsules are pretty good to place directly on the bases, and the combat drones are at least a way to turn resources to damage besides (or in addition to) turret creep.
Would it be worthwhile to spend some pipes in most chunks to reduce the risk of expansions happening close to you? (I think it was a MichaelHendriks playthrough that did that + explore a lot to really minimize the amount of expansion close to the base.)
You should've probably played with "Research Causes Evolution" mod cuz balance is completely broken on this settings (tho it needs to be manually updated for new version as it's outdated rn)
theres lots of ways to make x1000 easier, like increasing ores and decreasing evolution factors, but i want to attempt this challenge in its purest form :)
@@kuviboy_ increasing ore is cheating but evolution factor wasn't balanced around x1000 cost fighting blue biters with yellow ammo is not hard - it's unfair and forces you to find obscure, unintended ways to defeat them
I was considering doing a 1k x science run and cheat in logistics 1 and electric miners because that early game seems rough. Also super easy world settings, because I probably couldn't deal with biters lol. Not just because of the attacks, but also because pollution gives evolution factor and I don't think I could ever out-pace them.
@@bissnickss345I think he's talking about spawn blocking nests. Meh... I don't think it's too much of a abuse tbh. If they would cunsume pollution while being blocked, that would be super op, but sunce they don't..
I saw entire bases smaller than your red science production

Damn, if Michael Hendriks says "Big Respect" for something. wow

I'm going to love this series. Can't wait for 5mil science mech armor.
Absolute madman. Hope this blows up. Vulcanus will be a great friend
This is very forward looking
It would take awhile till vulcanos
its pleasurable to watch your art in an edited form. so, YAY!
Hey! havent seen you around for a while~ ^^
Crazy how you'll spend more time setting up new mining outposts than researching.
this is a really great editing style, ill definitely be watching this series! thank you for uploading good factorio content

Way to go!
First time was thst engaged watching a video.
Really looking forward for a continuation ❤️🔥

what a mad lad...
respect bro
excited to see the series blow up!

Doing this on default settings is insane! Good luck dude
Omg nest surrounding to prevent evo factor is sooo smart

Ooh, next time do this and try to complete all non-time related achievements
For every ore patch you would normally consume, you will need a thousand. I don't see how this is possible, but I shall.
Productivity and quality can scale that back down quite substantially. It's still going to take a while, but every optimization made will be felt.
Also, ore patches are richer further away from spawn, so the total number of required ore patches won't be That bad. (Still pretty bad though.)

Yes, I'm starting to do that later (maybe too late)
and i thought I was crazy for 10x research cost...
Are you the guy that has been ocasionally posting their 1k multiplier progress over at r/Factorio over the last couple of weeks or so?
no, i only started couple days ago. they play on different settings
That. Cheat sounds much more painful than just meleeing the spawner so I think it's justified.
U can do waht with nests!?!? Omg soo cool

If you cheat then what the fuck is the point
I wanted to try playing like this but thought it would take years 😅
is that hyprland
yes
Long time no see :)
x1000??? Dude! I play x100 and its terrible and interesting in same time, but x1000? Ok, i need to see it.
nice rice bro ;)
Why do you use burner miners instead of electric ones?
I forgot that in 2.0 they locked them behind a research. Great content btw!
woh o: so much cheating wth
how?

Skill issue
i didn't see a console open. This is clearly intended gameplay

Here's a Factorio dev doing that exact same thing.
