I see some UPVC french door manuals say that the door leaves should be unmounted before fixing the frame. However, you manage to install the frame with leaves on in all your videos. How do you manage to make the frame stand still and level when opening the leaves and fixing the frame with screws? Are the wedges all you need to hold the frame still?

Stu I'm fitting my own uPVC doors just about to order them , how do I know if I need frame extension on hinge side? Is there a rule of thumb with internal Vs external measurements? Outside is 880 inside is 870
the golf ball wasp nest is this year's . if leaft for a couple of months would be around the same size as the old 1 and you wouldn't of been able to get near it lucky for you it's early in the wasp season . great vid as usual .

I'd probably have kept the existing door, which was and probably still be way more expensive the the doors they just put in. but I guess new are better in terms of noise and thermal insulation
Why would you want to replace a perfectly serviceable genuine hardwood, double glazed door that looks in perfect nick with a plastic imitation? I know the customer is nearly always right but...
They were losing a lot of heat through those old perfectly serviceable frames that you know so much about, as well as the old glass which is not energy saving. when it was windy they could hear them howling, so they’ve opted for a more safe and secure option with no drafts and a rated energy saving glass not to mention this is a retired couple who don’t want to be sanding and re varnishing frames every year.
