CYCLING IN ITALY | EPIC CYCLING CLIMBS | PASSO GAVIA

- Pretending we are in the Giro d'Italia once again and ticking off another bucket list cycling climb as part of our three day cycling adventure in Bormio, Italy. This time, we are cycling up on another one of the most iconic mountain passes from Bormio: Passo Gavia.
Taking in incredible switchbacks (or hairpins), alpine scenery, glacier peaks and Lake Bianco (Laga Bianco rather), we get our mountain goat on, alongside some actual goats. The climb is beautiful - a little spicy in parts with some gradient jabs that batter my tired legs after taking on the double Stelvio the day before (riding up and down two sides of Passo Stelvio in one day - going back for the triple for sure!)

This is definitely one of my favourite climbs and descents! Did the loop from Bormio to Mortirolo and Gavia (from the other side) this year ... what a ride!

Incredible day Kate! What a difference 90 days make. We had to climb through the clouds, snow on the too and a frozen lake. The ladies at Refugio Bonetta are gold though! Well done for climbing this beast after double Stelvio!
So beautiful - can imagine the snow it was chuffing cold at the top but not as bad as it was when you went up. Such a beauty and the ladies were so lovely! Had such a cool vibe there!
