- This is my DJI FPV Quick Build Plane. It's a plank - or a flying wing with a fuselage, and it can be built as a fixed FPV system or with a pan and tilt camera assembly. It is a very fast build, and a great plane for FPV exploration. Parts are either laser cut or 3d printed - and the kit is small enough to fit in a backpack before assembly.
Specs:
Length 610mm (24")
Wingspan 715mm (28.25")
Takeoff Weight 530 grams (RC version)
Motor 2205-2300kv
ESC 30 amp
Servos 2 x SG90
Battery 4S 3000mah Li-Ion
Flight Controller Matek F405
Flight times can be as long as 30 minutes depending on power settings.

It's actually blank and looks amazing good job.
Thanks dude. It's a fun little flyer.
Do you think you’ll ever do a video on your pan and tilt system? I’d love to see that in more detail.
I'll give you some love and do a video on the pan and tilt.
I'm making a few small upgrades to it, but I think you'll like it. It works well.
I really like the content and I'm interested in the use of 18650 batteries. Can you share your charger you use? I'm looking to build a similar battery for a 6s 21700 battery for a x8 inav drone.
I'll do it. I've built packs with both the 18650 and the 21700, and I like my design for my purposes. They work well, provide what I feel is a safer alternative to li-po, and as long as you respect their current limitations - they've got tremendous capacity. I'll put a video of that up in the days ahead. Thanks for the note.
Can you show the planes more close up?
Sure. I'll do a detail view video for you.
I just posted a second video that shows more details.

Awesome. What do you think your total cost on the build was? I want to build one of these, very impressive!! I would love to buy some kits if you ever decide to post some on your site. Sub & Like for sure.👍
As a quick hack - the flight controller, ELRS, GPS is probably $80 all in. 2 X 9 gram servos are a few bucks a piece - and I was using the o3 air unit - which isn't cheap - maybe $225. The battery packs - I make those and buy the 18650's and use them for ages. I'd really have to dig to get exact numbers - as I've just got parts bins full of stuff from old builds and things I've collected over the years. These are all built up out of long recycled parts.
So all in- it's around $350 maybe if you had to buy everything new - but I reuse all the avionics and servos in plane after plane - so those costs have been long depreciated - and the build came about as I just wanted to utilize parts I already had. Like I mentioned - when I travel with these, I tear up the airframes at the end of the trip and just bring the electronics back ready to go into the next build. It sounds expensive - but you probably have most of the stuff from other builds - and that's why I like my swappable camera mount - one camera can be used on a bunch of planes. It's really far more affordable to build your own vs what most manufacturers charge.
I'm on the road right now as work has picked up a bit - but I'll spend some time and maybe get some kits together if there's interest. My email address is in the channel description or through usefulaircraft.com.
Thanks for the support - I've got other designs to share that you may like as well - but I'm not going to lie - this plank is a really great plane. For so many reasons - and especially for the ease of the build - it's just an excellent go-to for so many flights. I'm honored to have created something you like.
@@usefulaircraft thank you! That was a very detailed reply and it definitely put me in the ballpark of what the cost is..... That is very affordable even with the DJI unit... And I was just immaculately impressed with the stability of the video quality.... Thanks so much for your contribution to my knowledge... Stay safe on your travels I want to see/hear more from you👍
plz do a long range fpv, on a large plane
just thinking about it maken me
I've got some long range stuff, and I'll add it to the video list. Thanks
