I've loved poppy ever since her early pop music days, and her metal era is by far my favorite. you can just tell she's enjoying herself creatively and sonically. It's not as heavy, but I'd love to hear you guys listen to her cover of JOJ's Fear of Dying. It's such great riot grrrl music and I personally like it better than the OG. Her cover of Spit by Kittie is also iconic. I found your channel because of your reaction to poppy's BadOmens collaboration and I think I've watched every video yours now. I love hearing your POV.
Poppy is all over the place in the best way. You could probably pick a music video at random and each new video would be her performing in a different music genre. Her album 'Zig' was pop. 'Flux was an alt-rock/grunge album. 'I Disagree' is some avant-garde heavy metal pop album. 'Am I a Girl?' is a synthpop album with some nu metal. The same is true of her EPs as well. She just does whatever she wants.
Honestly after hearing this, I’m glad Jordan left Bring Me. This is a sound he’s perfected that he can produce at will and he’s going to make so much money doing it. And now Oli and bring me can explore different sounds and production styles which I feel they have started with Nex Gen. Everyone benefited from the split.
