We are just coming out of a -25 and -45 windchill here in Iowa. We just experienced the first 2 1/2 day blizzard we’ve have had in a very long time. I don’t even remember when it snowed and the wind blew for that long. Right now we are enjoying a little bit of a warm up then by the weekend it will be below zero again. Yes -40 does bring out the best in everything. The planes were shut down, the trains couldn’t run, vehicles were broke down everywhere. I know it poses some unique challenges to you and your family as well. Glad to see the goats are getting through it O.K. My Weimaraner isn’t a big fan, she takes about 6 steps outside and starts holding her paws up in disbelief. Walks are on hold but they are forecasting single digits by next week let’s all hope they are right.

Get a small battery trickle charger for your car and anything else along with a block heater. My battery goes dead on my car and the cold kills it. Got mine at Costco years ago for $40.

Cold is always a challenge. Do you ever use an electric battery warmer as well as a block heater? Both the car and skid steer. A warm battery provides much more starting amps and also recharges faster after use.
It was so cold that the block heater didn’t even work on my car, and the skid steer doesn’t have a block heater 🥶. I got that installed this week though lol
Has the vortex moved on from you now? Was so 🥶. We’ve had a ton of snow the last 2 days but temps are supposed to rise weekend +. The wind chills were the killers and the water being available is so important, great job. 👍🏻

I was raised in Manitoba. Then as if that wasn't bad enough I went up to Thompson for a few years. I know what you mean.
