@K_PetarI call this "A Thermomix phenomenon" (well, I don't really call it like that, but hear me out): People who bought Thermomix spent like crazy amount of money (≈1000€ in my country) for thing that made them disappointed, so in order not to feel bad about that alone, they try to make more people feel this way so "I am not the only one who spent so much money on awful stuff". Here it's the same. They KNOW they won't use the skin that much to justify the logic behind spending so much on one skin and they KNOW they have fallen prey, so they try to bring more people in. Oh, and I didn't even mention the fact that whoever bought the skin is guilty of Riot introducing more and more such practices in the future.
Gacha are too strong. I always thought that post genshin era many publishers/game companies were salivating at it's earnings.Probab;y more games will have this in the future - both old and new...
Don't really get it tho, since you have no advantage having a skin, how does that impact the game? Since it's free too play, if there are people willing to pay without having an advantage why wouldn't it be ok? I've only spent 5 euro like 12 years ago on league, don't think that I miss on the game experience comparing to people having paid hundreds or thousands of dollars.
@@lavredisgoume Prolly that's how community look like. Even if it's skins they are going to complain, especially if they can't get them easy and for free.

@@DelgaDude No. This isnt inheritantly making fun of these people, if you take it that way, then you feel called out by it. Gacha is just legalized gambling, because there is no real monetary value. It seems like everytime there is a Jinx in my games, she has that skin. Indeed, we are doom. Dumb people wasting loads of money on gambling just gave Riot a reason to push further...
A lot of chronic league addicts being gacha brainrotted makes perfect sense. It’s sad how people try to spin it as a good thing because “their money so they can buy whatever” when you’re getting a subpar quality skin that further enables the enshittification of league skins. Not even a product/currency you own or can exchange. Just sad, mostly some for bragging rights that I’m sure 99% wouldn’t care about
I think a lot of people are justifying it by thinking it’s a way to support arcane. The shows on pretty thin ice as is. Doubt the sett one is going to make anywhere near as much money.
Funny how everyone with the skin magically got her after 1 roll, 2 rolls,5 rolls, wow, the odds must be amazing! Its not like people would lie on the internet.
that's not a lie though. You see it all the time on gacha games with proofs too. It is just the amount of people who aren't lucky is so, so much bigger. Survivor's error or whatever it is called for those who got it early. As well as an ad by regular (and not) people for other folks who considers it but isn't sure. Those are gachas. One of my friends doesn't even play league anymore, but plays gacha games. He logged in, noticed that he had enough rp on the account to buy one pull. Bought it, rolled - got her on the first try and closed the game. And didn't played even one game with her lol. Meanwhile my other friend didn't get her in 60 pulls and decided to give up. That's the point of gamba in gacha. You can win early. Or win only on gurantee. But in fact - both of those is your loss))) But the first one makes you feel better. And a chance to win early adds to the thrill. As well as "time limited" nature of gacha banners, adding a sense of urgency and fomo.
Maybe some lied, but likely many of them didn't. Everyone gambling who gets lucky is for some reason compelled to share that with the world. Everyone who got average or worse than average luck doesn't brag about it on social media. If these are just the people who got lucky... imagine how many people there are who we don't know about. Just another reason why gambling is an insidious blight. It advertises itself.
Genshin a few years ago: Look at what they have to do just to mimic a fraction of our power (profit) Genshin now: Chill buddy it was meant to be a joke
atleast in those gacha games you can save pulls you get for FREE and eventually get the character(in this case skin) you want, but here you will get 2/3 free pulls just to make you even more eager to spend your money and leave you will nothing but shit, since even if you get the skin it is so dogshit that you will play it 2 times at most. (And most of the people who pulled for her don't even have 3 games on her just for the FOMO) Fucking hate RIOT right now
Genshin doesn't even rake in the most profit out of all gachas. I'm already concerned how well Riot's poor excuse of a gambling system makes in comparison to the likes of Momento Mori or Uma Musume.
this is why "voting with your wallet" never works. There will always be gamba addicts and whales who'll vote yes, and that's all Riot needs to turn a massive profit, so they don't really care if the average player votes no or makes fun of it online.
If I see any of these people ever ask, why we dont get good skins again, why all the good skins cost 250, why we dont have ultimates, I am gonna think like Luigi.
This is my biggest problem with the 250 dollar skins. We are never going to get a decent skins at the lower price points every again. I want to spend money on LOL but everytime a skin comes out that I would pay 15 to 20 dollars for........It costs 150-200 dollars. Oh well I guess I am just pure free to play now.
One thing that's crazy to me too is that this reminds me of the whole seraphine situation but maybe even worse- make a character, get everyone extremely attached to them, and then monetize to the moon because people LOVE that character and will spend as much money as it takes to play them in game. That and then add in gambling to the mix for good measure and you have a pretty scummy and very bleak business practice that still ends up earning millions.
Found the bot laners I curbstomp as seraphine in ranked in the comment section guys!!! You're jealous of seraphine cause she gets white women and you dont 💅😢
But this is exactly how gambling addiction starts. First you win big with little money Then you try to win big again with all your money. Those who pulled the skin in 1-5 rolls or barely spent anything on it will be loading and buying more RP for the next skin hoping to achieve the same result. Even if they dont spend the full 250$ for the skin, if 10 players drop 20$ in the game that's already 200$ you wouldn't have gotten if they didnt win big on their first attempt. Now multiply that with the thousands and you get insane profit margins from exploiting vulnerable people (even kids) susceptible to developing a gambling addiction. From a players point of view, its absolutely savage and disgusting to do your player base like this. From a CEO's point of view, this is exactly how you make GOOD money. If Tencent was already a billionaire company, just wait till they fully start exploiting this system. I am 100% sure that the Jinx and Ahri skin alone has generated more profits in this short time than all the skins ever released combined.
Thanks to all these paying customers, Riot should have enough funds to push out 5 new games, 20 reworks, a new KDA album, Pentakill album, and Heartsteel album, and last but not least, never needing to resort to this gacha system ever again in the future!.... if only
Considering the price of 10 pulls is still about 35 dollars for 4500 RP (spending 4000 RP of that amount), it's still a scam if you get it for only a single 10 pull. You've already spent more money than you would have on Elementalist Lux for a skin that only has 3 not-very-distinct forms. You would need to be EXTREMELY lucky in order for the money you spend on this skin to be worth it, especially since the odds of getting the skin on any given pull is 1/200, or .5%. I also want to specify that you have a less than 50% chance of even getting the gacha skin before you hit the 80 pull guarantee. In other words, you are more likely to spend around 250 dollars on this skin than you are to pay any price less than that if you actually try to get it. This isn't complex math, it's a bad deal no matter how you look at it.
oh yea no, its worse then genshin actually, the 80 pull is 1/3 chance not 50/50 and in genshin, if you lose the chance the loss is saved and the character you want can be pulled in another banner or after. Literally you can get the 5* YOU WANTED in genshin ENTIRELY FREE and for some reason league wants you to gamble. you cant even earn sparks for free either.

I wish the gacha was the only current problem in LoL... Unfortunately, the game has been in decline for several months. Riot is firing employees, the balance team is destroying the game from inside, whether through incompetence (many recent examples) or to "promote(?)" arcane... Literally every arcane character have received completely ridiculous massive buffs, when they absolutely didn't need them, while some champions are in agony but have no attention paid, or, are poorly balanced, cuz balancing team no longer really seeks the true competitiveness of each champion, but only responds to the trends of the moment, without thinking in depth. The current balance of the game is catastrophic. I'm tired of seeing arcane champions in every game, I'm tired of seeing Skarner in every game, I'm tired of ADCs being replaced by mages, I'm tired of some champions are killed by the incompetence of the balance team, I'm tired of people complaining about Phreak for personifying the balance team, while the entire the team is at fault, and in reality they are probably just saying "yes" to the bosses (tencent) without thinking deeply about the game, I'm tired of there being no more pre-seasons and that the beginnings of splits are giant PBEs, I'm fed up that in almost 15 years of LoL we're still going through a client that bugs to death, I'm fed up that vanguard absolutely doesn't stop cheaters to cheat, but prevents honest players from playing due to "vanguard errors" which cause you to lose LPs for no reason, I'm tired of Riot/Tencent constantly making fun of us and that some idiots spend $250 for a skin instead of boycotting a game that doesn't care about them. We've been pissed in the face for months, and it's not going to stop because of all the idiots who buy skins for $250 as if there were no problem and we should thank uncle riot and help them finance... finance what ? fired people ? competitive leagues abandoned by riot? Pay an balancing team who only responds to twitter/reddit idiots rather than thinking in depth about the real balancing problems in order to make the game truly fair, balanced and competitive? I love League, I've been playing it for over 10 years, it's for sure my most played game, I love this game so much that seeing it in this state makes me sick. Everyone has always complained about the game, whether it's bad meta, bad balancing, etc., so i'll just look like another crying player, but for real, the game has never been in such a sorry state as it is right now, in every possible way.

If I don't like u playing games should I post how every gamer is a loser all the time? This is just not it. U also didn't censor any of the names and U KNOW these people are going to get harassed now.
One day the system will let the people to make you disappear, politically correctly speaking, and then we will see what will be your opinion of people who will make use of it to make it happen... Oh wait, you won't be alive to tell us, sad! 😢 But no, you're totally right, people can never be blamed for the system being in place, after all, we all know that systems existed before people did, and the thing I describe totally never happened before, I mean, assasinations, really? That only happens in fairytales for children... But I digress, after all nothing I wrote has anything to do with Riot milking the last cents from this dying game and people happily obliging in the murder of what once was a fun MOBA way ahead of its time.
think people need to start petitions thing is the "vote with your wallet" only works if you actually show the number of people they are missing out on rather then the few that are paying exorbant prices. You also have to prove that their reputation is being damaged. In short, if changing the skin to 40$ is shown to yield more profitability then the gatch they would switch. The problem is that such surveys are not known and those few "whales" speak the loudest amongst the masses.
I still remember when the first ever modern bundle came out: Project skins, with a ward and exclusive border. Boy, did I feel the slopes getting slippery there.
Whats sad is how many people who are on low middle class and are renting for half of that buying this piece of garbage. Imagine jinx gets nerfed in 2 patches lol
As a rule of thumb, I've learned (From Riot themselves prior to their recent bullshit.) To only put money into a game that I feel is actively paid back in kind generosity. It's actually way easier for a company to afford to be generous and gave back a sense of monetary value than it is for an individual to give actual monetary value toward a game. All I really ask is a chance to fairly earn the same amount back per month in their own invented currency as the maximum single purchase item on the store. If Riot was actually giving $250 worth of skins in free to play grind every month, I'd be more than willing to entertain a $250 gacha, especially when the skin in question is mass produced for less than $250 worth of work and contract binding with a ban/delete/take back/turning off the servers clause built in, while the $250 I'm putting in is very real and not something I can get back again. Riot can't even give players $250 worth of free skins across the entire year, let alone in the same month they're running a $250 gacha.

i wouldnt be surprised if that happen. but sad truth is that for every lucky dude there are 100 who spent full 250 for that.
that's not a lie though.

Vote with your wall... oh
this is why "voting with your wallet" never works. There will always be gamba addicts and whales who'll vote yes, and that's all Riot needs to turn a massive profit, so they don't really care if the average player votes no or makes fun of it online.

First you win big with little money
Then you try to win big again with all your money.

Nah, new layoffs incoming

One day the system will let the people to make you disappear, politically correctly speaking, and then we will see what will be your opinion of people who will make use of it to make it happen... Oh wait, you won't be alive to tell us, sad! 😢
But no, you're totally right, people can never be blamed for the system being in place, after all, we all know that systems existed before people did, and the thing I describe totally never happened before, I mean, assasinations, really?
Remember when ultimate skins were a thing? When some had multiple forms and can be gotten through the chests? Yeeeeeah… me too
I still remember when the first ever modern bundle came out: Project skins, with a ward and exclusive border. Boy, did I feel the slopes getting slippery there.
I'll just ban Jinx every game
Whats sad is how many people who are on low middle class and are renting for half of that buying this piece of garbage. Imagine jinx gets nerfed in 2 patches lol
I better pay my rent
People's problem is having money to spare, I don't have any so I'm fine
Many whales are actually really poor and buy it anyway.
My pended-up RP is enough to almost guarantee the skin, but out of principle, I will not tolerate this shit.
Next we'll get a hoyoverse collab for our 3rd exalted skin 😂
The way everyone says "I got it easy and cheaper" as if they won the system is insane.
The amount of people i see that are playing with that skin is insane.
I have seen more Jinx players with this skin than without it since it dropped.
Watching League go down this enshitification spiral year after year has been an experience
Everytime I feel like downloading it again to play some ARAM for nostalgia's sake I come here and I'm instantly dissuaded from doing so
I love how Valve does it in Dota. Yes, Skins in Dota come in Gacha Boxes, but they are tradable on Steam Market after a while and you can just resell them too when you no longer need them.
Even the people who get it for free (e.g., Twitch Prime capsule RP leftovers) or only pull a single time in this gacha system are part of the problem.
i'm a chill guy,i collect 3 skins from chests,i reroll them,i'm happy with what i get+i'm saving every penny for the upcoming 40-50 years (hopefully)
hope they bring out new skins for 1k and after for 10k with the same gatcha behind it never change a running system what works it works
As if Riot has a financial department that knows exactly what is and what isnt being sold
