Greetings Australien Government from London! Prime Minister Richy from the Britsheet Government has got your back, granting new North Sea oil and gas licences to allow us to sell more fuel on the international markets and maybe buy some of it back at more than it cost us to produce. Plus keeping the expensive gas flowing helps prop up the price of green energy on the markets, so none of us get cheaper bills.
Your comment seems self contradictory or wrong. Gas is not green energy. Higher prices of fossil fuels, gas, oil, coal mean people turn to wind, solar etc. Plus the latter are now cheaper to produce than energy from the former 3 fossils fuels. Your govt is just feeding the interests of the gas, oil and coal companies and using spin to do so. The Tories have no fundamental interest in supporting green energy other than where it can make their mates money. If it's easier via fossil fuels they'll do that, they don't care if it fucks the planet, same people that profited iff slavery and the misery of the IK working class. Just horrors, look at zjohnson prime eg. All spin and bollocks. I left London, South Ruislip as it hits fir Sydney in 81.
See before the 'kraine energy was relatively cheap. Post 'kraine energy is at least double the price..this also at a stroke makes renewable energy a prospective investment now... Imagine that..

The main difference between Australia and the UK is the accent and the weather. Our politics are very similar regarding wealthy fwits selling out today's generation and the next few. Both countries have problems with lawlessness, intolerance, injustice, corruption, climate change inaction/acceleration and that's just the politicians...
Part of the issue is career politicians who will do anything to keep themselves employed, but also party politics which trumps everything where all politicians who are a selected member of the party *must* vote along party lines or be kicked out. Even abstaining is considered bad. In this way we get good policies dumped, self serving ones promoted and not an inkling of democracy where these politicians are meant to represent the best interests of the people that voted for them (or even those that didn't in their area - the represent the area).

I was speaking with a scientist the other day who said that of all CO2 emissions only 1% comes from human activity, and of that Australia only contributes 1%. And your shit lite party is worse than our that is the govt at the nation and nearly every state level. Our system means we get far better outcome than you do. You are not democratic, Oz barely. But the barely is a big difference. It means this shit lite party has had to make significant concession in many areas to the greens, including this. You won't get that in the UK. Eg insisted effect on climate is included as factor on approvals, strengthened env reg so that mines are restricted, & fossil fuel.projects. the projects aa are, think mostly from prior approvals and are fought every step by the greens and green like independents.
However as we are thecworkds biggest fossil fuel exporter we really are shit and our govt shit. It partly the product of having a very large area. Yes we need to hammer our shit lite party, I do.
Part of the problem is, like the UK, we are part of the US empire. As result when our shit lite party attempts real change fir the people it suffers coups and has learned to pull its head in to suit USA interests. Your experience of the treatment of Jeremy Corby when running for govt and since and starmers teams response are exactly the same.

President Biden in the United States is performing a similar role while pretending to be an environmental champion. With friends like these...
Fun and normal!

The main difference between Australia and the UK is the accent and the weather. Our politics are very similar regarding wealthy fwits selling out today's generation and the next few. Both countries have problems with lawlessness, intolerance, injustice, corruption, climate change inaction/acceleration and that's just the politicians...
It is very similar here in the United States. There is very little real difference between the two major parties although both pretend otherwise.
At least Australia haven't jumped as much on the trans genocide train to distract from their failures

I was speaking with a scientist the other day who said that of all CO2 emissions only 1% comes from human activity, and of that Australia only contributes 1%. That says that 1/10,000th of global CO2 emissions are from Australia. Can someone explain why all the guilt and shame? CSIRO reports that there are more leaves on desert plants in Australia’s interior as a result. In the absence of humans wouldn’t there still be weather events and a changing climate?

It has however meant that renewable energy is now relatively unaffordable for poorer nations, because the EEA is where the biggest demand is rn with little supply, but at least the poorer nations aren't the ones causing climate change.
