❤ Yo. It’s both. There are two versions in each purchase. One is standard and the other one is called Melodic. I’ve found that there are a few presets in each pack that allow me play proper lead. However, there are so many other techniques in lead playing vs. rhythm playing that you won’t have total control just the same as a guitar. However, the limitations almost always bring out something really creative for me :) To clear up a possible misunderstanding, this isn’t a synth. It’s a sample library recorded by a guitarist that you have mapped control to. You can only use what he recorded. And from there you can alter it a bit. Hope that way too long of an answer helps :)
i’ve got one question, if i use these patterns can i still copyright my music? i still write my chords but i’m aware that it is the program that is arpeggiating and strumming my chords. so if i copyright my own music, with my own drums, vocals and of course this program strumming my chords am i doing the right thing?
Yo. Don’t even stress about it. Chord progressions can’t be copyrighted. There have been a few cases where uninformed juries went the other way on that in court, but all such instances have been overturned by other courts. I hope I didn’t misunderstand your question and that it helped :)

There are two versions of each session Guitarist plug-ins that you get whenever you purchase them. One is a standard version and the other is called “melodic“. I’m a guitarist and a keyboard player and many ‘purists’ will argue nothing can replace a real guitarist - but I think that’s naïve. Many genre’s are fine with virtual guitar. What NI is doing with their sampled guitar and bass instruments is super impressive. Now, I find it takes more effort and time to get the results I’m after with Electric Mint than just picking up and playing a real guitar - but eventually I’ll get better at using these types of virtual instruments 😜
Oh 100%. I find it super handy in helping me sketch out ideas that I often replay later or if I’m recording on the go. Often I also end up using it for some things and then playing others. “If it sounds great then it’s great” is kind of my motto lol. ❤️ ✌️
In melodic mode, yes, but since it’s a sample library you’ll still be using the articulations already recorded so you can’t be quite as expressive. Well, if we are talking about rock or blues anyway. What usually happens is the limitations will force you to create something you hadn’t otherwise planned for. So if you want it for that purpose I’d just advise to keep an open mind. :)
my question is, dont you run out of patterns? And if you have twenty songs to record, what is the liklihood you can find a part using this, on all 20 songs, i could say getting lucky a few times where one fits perfectly. And if you have to play it yourself, then why not just play it on guitar?
Hmm, that's a great question but hard to answer for a few reasons. I've never hit a wall on being able to tweak it, but I haven't ever tried to utilize it for ALL guitar parts. Usually just a moment or two. For instance, I use the acoustic one A LOT because If I'm just looking for a strumming pattern then I'm always able to make it work. However, for lead stuff, you're definitely limited to the articulations that have been sampled. Basically, I'd say that if you were using for EVERYTHING and they weren't lead riffs, you'll be absolutely fine.
@@JeffyG Hi, I've been trying to figure out how to create custom patterns - any way you could advise or point me to instructions? Really want to be able to at least edit their patterns or create my own. Cheers
