Ah nostalgia, 90's bb kicks were aesthetically fire compared today's kicks
Hunter Bautista yes. The basketball shoes back then had way more style. Slightly less overstated and outlandish than today's. Don't get me wrong, i like some Lebrons, but even those are older LBJ models. To me, you say basketball shoe and immediately these, the Air Jordan XII and the Reebok Answer 1 spring to mind. Much more elegant.
This is the reason why I love sneakers, I was 11 years old and my uncle came home with those back in 97 in DR 🇩🇴and that was the start of everything 🙌🏻 Now I call them the “Frank’s” 😄😄 Just cuz he had it, every sneakers from there on has a story for me 💯 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
They need to bring back the Vis Zoom Uptempo in the Allan Houston colorway
Mine just came in...... I can't take them off!!! Walkin around the house in the kitchen n living room gettin a good feel for these bad boys!!!! True to size fosho!!! I'm loving this release, wanted these kicks since freshman year high school..... but I was broke then so eh!!! Lol good review tho bro!!!

They been doing pretty good. I have black and grey Air Raids and white royal blue and black Air Missions. Air Way Up ect.
i do not want them just to generally drop retros .i want them to make the retro i want everytime i remember something i liked that i dont see anymore.and that everybody can ask for this.
They just need to retro the entire basketball lineup from 88 to 97, numerous gems

3:40 the ridges were raised in the OGs and 2009 retros. Now they're just cheap cut-outs... That's what bothers me the most about these new retros.

I had these in 8th grade when they first came out! Only person in school to have them too! They were the first Nike shoe that had the Air bag all the way thru to the front.

I got the blk pack ones and was very happy with the quality. Justvlike you I'm a huge fan of Uptempos and the Pippen line. My favorite all time sneaker is the Pippen 2. Soooo nice.

This one kid in high school had this as his only shoe all 4 years. He wasn’t an athlete but I just remember them being so blown out by senior year.
How did he not grind them down and pop the bubble in 4 entire years???

I had the all black pair back in middle school . The heel portion was super stiff and it took me a long time to break it in. And this happens to be the 1st pair of sneakers I saved up for. Being in middle school it took me a while to save up enough for a pair. Wore it for a long time before the air unit popped. This along with Aj11 low and the taxi XII really got me started with sneakers. This really isn’t my favorite given the bulkiness and the popped air unit, but I do remember it well enough. 97 really was a long time ago.
Would love to see the white bulls colorway that Pippen wore
I've always thought the ones Pippen wore with the red jewels were the best colorways ever made. Sadly to my knowledge, they never saw a retail release. This OG colorway is very nice, but red > navy. I don't know why Nike pussyfoots around with releases of horrible colors like the all black and baby blue and gray uppers, when the only two colors anybody gives a damn about is these OGs and Pippen's red gem version.

I have these!! I luv them, I was and still am a huge fan of the Uptempo line
One of my favourite shoes from my childhood. In 97 I had to get new shoes for school, but by then I was a size 12 and the only shoe in my little town was them. Parents was angry at me for out growing my old ones and the school was pissed coz did match dress code. But I had no choice and got away with, till six months later when I was a size 13 and no longer fitted.
After watchin this, im definitely coppin
Flashback to 96: I remember the original Nike billboard advertisement when this shoe dropped at the end of 1996 going into 1997, David Robinson was the poster child for these and I had have' em.
I had a few pairs of those back in the day, I liked the black with metallic silver and red i think it was. All those kicks from the 90s were dope and im glad to see retros. Id play ball in them lol, as long as there is support and cushion im good which these have.
There's a shoe called the Nike Air Uptempo Premier and it's one of the best all around shoe that never got popular. I had a pair as a kid and literally wore through them. I just found a deadstock pair but I'm still actively looking for the all black pair. God I hope they release them again, but I doubt it, they weren't super popular.

Had these waaaay back then as my first pair of ball shoes. I remember the cushioning to be firm initially but i never recall having sore knees/legs after playing.
These look so dated to me but I'm only 17. Different times, man. Great job to Nightwing for never being a hypebeast! It's great to see a sneaker guy who doesn't love hype sneakers and just loves sneakers. Well done. These kicks are not my style but I'm glad Nightwing still took a look at them.

I also believe Nike can create a bigger air bubble regardless of the air they used back in the day. I wish I had a position up there, that would be one of the things I'd be aiming to recreate on newer retro's. Same way Jordan "tried" to remaster the retro line.
With Air units like the VaporMax and 270/720... there’s no way they couldn’t create Air units close to the originals. At least ones that feel good. They just don’t want to.

I had a pair with a color wave that I cannot find on the internet anywhere..they're were green white and chameleon shiny colors in the accent drops in the foam bottoms..

I remember that was on a Friday afternoon I skipped class and was goofing around with my gf. We bumped into our classmate who was in the vasity team walking out of the shopping mall with these. He stole his old man’s gamble money to get himself a pair of these. I was so jealous you know, back then what my mum earned in a month was less than their price.

I love uptempo bro not even kidding like I’m a huge fan but wish Nike would give a damn bout the retro of a shoe even if it’s not super popular anymore. But I think uptempo have a decent size of fan base but to not take this shoe serious and treat it with good materials maybe not even premium but good materials I’d be happy but to go out my way to buy a shoe that feels like I’m walking on an actual brick I’m good ultraboost got me spoiled man so when a shoe sucks like I truly know they suck now. Not look wise but comfort and materials ya know? Great video God bless keep em going man.
When is the black/silver colorway coming?
I had the 2010 version. They hurt like crazy. Also these joints sat everywhere. Paid $160 when they came out then a couple months later I seen some as low as $80 😡
played in them until i exposed the air unit. I was using 2010 retro. somehow I broke them in after years of playing but the cushioning really wasnt the same

I tried to play in my uptempos but they are just very heavy lol. I know i used to love them back in my elementary days but right now its a no go for me. Lol

Musttttttttt cop. I had the black pair but sold them because they were too small and that was the last pair they had at the time. So i wore them a handful times and dealt with the pain lol. But eventually i let em go
I really liked that pair as well. And I do think that ALL retro models miss something. Let it be the materials or the air-bags.... btw: Nike used a non-toxic gas... SF6 (sulfur hexafluoride). Itwas used as tire gas as well! It's an ozone-killer! That's why its application has been greatly reduced and the "Air" was replaced by nitrogen.
i'm from philly and grew up in the 90s so Barkley's and uptempos were everything. I'm considering getting these for casual wear, but i'm a little scared that the air unit will pop wearing them in the streets. am i crazy to think like this? i wouldn't be wearing them everyday or everything but i don't wanna waste money. please advise.

Love Uptempos. Especially the CB34's. But these to me look more like Air Pippens - the sole is identical and the overall shape is very similar. I'd pick up a pair of these if they were all black (and preferably all leather - no synthetic nubuck which sucks ass).

I bought these in the 1996-1997 school year! I was the only one in school with em then this other dude went and got em. 🙄 I doubt he was copying me though, he was already wearing other uptempos.

Very good release....but i believe that the airbugs should be as in the originals.....I am very big fan of all the 90s air max basketball shoes...but i'm very disapointed with all the models airbugs
