The enterprise of two brothers unfold in this story of William & John Moores; the W and the J in W. & J Moores Ltd. It was a humble start in 1896 in a small settlement in Freshwater, on Newfoundland's Conception Bay.
But perseverance and the strength of family, together they fought two major fires, a world war and survived it all. While the Moores brothers knew all about growth, eventually, it was growth that bought the company to a halt.

Very well done. My mother , Ruth Lawrence, used to work at W. J. Moores's Department Store. In its day it was one of the best stores in the Bay.
