Yo incredible video, you said it well that the gloom stalker ranger is very front heavy making it a great multiclass. these baldur's gate 3 build guides are incredible jason keep it up please
Awesome build. I wanna do an Evil Durge Playthrough with Ascended Astarion in the Party (cause I haven’t seen that storyline yet) and idk if I wanna do this build or an Open Hand Monk/Thief build. But those Dual Hand Crossbows do sound pretty fun to kill things from a distance. Back to the drawing board for me. 🫠🙃 Any advice? Thanks for the video!
Ascended Astarion acts so different it’s perfect for a dark urge run. Honestly Monk Builds with tavern brawler and cloud giant potions are busted. I think open hand monk 9 / rogue thief 3 would be ideal if you want Astarion to go wild as a vampire. The mobility you get jumping around is wild, pretty much the same as the distance with the dual crossbows. It’s a tough choice!
@@JasonDunna yeah I’ve only done one full Playthrough and it wasn’t Honor Mode but it was multiplayer with my buddy and we were doing a good Playthrough so we didn’t go the Ascended Astarion route but it sounds fun for the character. Astarion is my favorite origin character. Thanks for the quick response!
@@Quantum_Bluntz This game is incredible with friends! Solo is fun too though as you get to know the characters better. For your evil playthrough you should have evil Shadowheart and God of Ambition Gale. There’s pretty cool stories for both of them, and I used to dislike Gale but he grew on me
@@JasonDunna lol my friend hated Gale at first too. For some reason when I first played this game Gale immediately clicked with me. I felt like I understood him the most on a relatable level. Idk what that says about me but I digress. Astarion is still my favorite just because he’s an actual monster and monsters need the most love.
You should do a playthrough of Gale origin! He has the most unique content out of all the origin characters, and you can do some really unique stuff if you play as him. I plan to at some point@@Quantum_Bluntz
I havent tried it yet but i think 5th lvls gloomstalker for extra attack and misty step then 4th lvl assassin for the feat, then 2nd lvlv fighter for action surge and 1 lvll war cleric for the war priest for bonus action attack . That might be badass to get action surge on 1st round for more burst dmg for the assassin crits .
That’s a really good point, I’ll have to look into multiclassing those four and try it out! Thanks for the comments it is insightful to hear others ideas on these builds!
AFAIK there's no benefit to your starting class being a rogue, you can still get the extra skill proficiency and expertise when adding rogue in later. Rangers are the better starting class because you get more HP and weapon proficiencies.
That’s quite strong still! Bonus action from rogue and action surge from fighter gives wild nova damage. The cleric is a nice touch. Maybe I’ll try and make a build like that sometime and try it out!
Hi there, quick question, if me and a friend of mine are doing an evil playthrough, it will forfeit the spear of night, is there any other weapon I can use just to deal with crowd control in case things get bad? Even if I have spells for it?
Here’s a modification of the build that makes a bunch of ice surfaces to interrupt caster’s concentration and make martial classes slip: th-cam.com/video/VkYKknfxb0k/w-d-xo.html
So are dual crossbows just the way to go for ranger builds. Lots of the build guides I'm seeing. Only really mention this and not long bows or anything... It's kind of disappointing. Aesthetically wise you have to use crossbows instead of a bow as a elf ranger if you wanna get the most damage... 😢
You can grab the eversight ring to get immunity to blindness in darkness/magical darkness for the same effect without having to take 2 levels in warlock! I think there's another item as well I just can't remember off the top of my head
Ya it's a helmet I did get the helmet but missed the ring I'm only on my 1st playthrougg. I would respect if I did get the rung but the helmet is ok but not to great for my build I use baldurians helmet for +2 ac and the other goodies lol
@@toddparker514 ranger rogue fighter is a solid build too! I legit just finished a build guide for that it should be coming out in the next couple days!
I’m sorry I was just focusing on the build itself in this video but I will get to videos of putting it into practice! These videos end up running long, and I’m still getting used to making longer videos

Thanks so much! Yeah the gloom stalker is easier to multiclass than the hunter ranger or beast master because those classes only get good at level 11
I didnt think crossbows would be my favourite build. Just a basic gunslinger but really powerful and fun

People roast me for not taking rogue first so that’s why I did in this video haha
Made a build like this for my resist durge but instead doing 5 ranger, 4 rouge, 2 fighter and 1 cleric of selune for story purposes (so many classes)

I don’t even care, I use bows. Crossbows always make me think of like stormtrooper type shit. Like super basic and bad
May i ask why 12 in strength
That’s what I’m saying lmao
How should I approach it if I’m level 5
Level up pure gloomstalker to get the extra attack at level 5, then next 3 levels can be rogue for an extra bonus action
@@JasonDunna Thanks great vid btw
@@Randomguy66798 Thanks so much Frieza! Can't wait for Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero to release
Kinda nice to do 6 in ranger and take 2 in warlock for devil sight so you can just chill in darkness and they can't attack you
Oh and the cloak of displacement is best with high ac almost untouchable
