The femoral artery is a continuation of the external iliac artery and constitutes the major blood supply to the lower limb.
In the thigh, the femoral artery passes through the femoral triangle, a wedge-shaped depression formed by muscles in the upper thigh. The medial and lateral boundaries of this triangle are formed by the medial margin of adductor longus and the medial margin of sartorius, respectively.
Some of its main branches include:
- Superficial and inferior epigastric arteries,
- Superficial iliac circumflex artery,
- Superficial external pudendal artery,
- Deep external pudendal artery,
- Medial and femoral lateral circumflex arteries
- Deep femoral artery

The main artery of the lower limb is the femoral artery. It is a continuation of the external iliac artery (terminal branch of the abdominal aorta). The external iliac becomes the femoral artery when it crosses under the inguinal ligament and enters the femoral triangle.👍
Thank you so much 💕
You are a good teacher. I proud to yourself.
Thanks it was helpful!!!
This video is simply beautiful and interesting, i love it, thanks
👍👍
Where is compete vedio?.or you made that part paid?😥
I like your Scottish accent 😊💕
I always have a hard time finding this artery
It's pretty easy, just place your pacient in supine position and you'll feel it right in the line that separates the pubic region with the starting of the musles, the femoral triangle
Here's a cool guiding illustration
You can also find it even easier on yourself by laying down (supine), placing the middle point of your ipsilateral palm over the minor trocanter of your femur and then, with the tips of your 2nd, 3rd and 4 finger aligned, let your hand fall toward your genitalia. You will surely find it

I became a millionaire today! It feels great. Just throwing this out there in the oblivion of the internet for no reason
Lmao
Proofs
Don't waste your time, this video doesn't start talking about the femoral artery until 3:00 and then barely discusses it.
