Hello Jim ! I'm really happy that you managed to find your French ancestors, and not just any French ancestors : whoaa... "Grand Prix de Rome" in architecture is one of the most prestigious prizes in the world ! (Look in Wikipedia at the list of winners by year, and you will find your ancestor Louis-François Trouard in 1753 and what work he had done to win it...) Such a reward opened all doors for you, including those of Louis XV (The Fifteen) the King of France, the proof ! It's incredible. He built the fabulous Hôtel de Crillon Place de La Concorde in Paris, and on Google you will find a lot of information about him, because he had become famous. Great for you ! (On the other hand, Jim, in French we don't pronounce the last letters of words like in Spanish. So "Alexandre" is pronounced "Alexandr"...)

❤️☺️❤️
The man's name is Jim Parsons, with an "s." How embarrassing for a channel called Who Do You Think You Are to get his name wrong.🙄
And maybe you'll give us more than two minutes of story, when he gets to Paris, HMMMM ???? Stingy bastards !!!
Ikr!
Funny thing, I have a lot of French roots through the Baldwin, Maxwell, and Ramsay lines. These families dropped the "de" after the 1600s, I think.
