ergo Handel with care. .He rarely moves me so intensely as Bach his religious music but some of his opera aria are moving. Kathleen Battle in Alcina, on this channel is worth listening to and Barbra Streisand 'dank sei dir Herr' is very moving. . Classical Barbra is a surprising disc full of surprises. and so is as is her 'Was ist Sylvia', purists may not like it but with an open heart some times sincerity is very compelling for example Charles de Gaulle singing the Marseilles
That's the problem, she plays with the scores, and have a lot of turns to do, and sometime must let the left hand for playing and turning together. Why not, but a simple extraction of the organ part (with a little bit of knives and glue ;-}) could have been more efficient... Whatever, she plays very well, I like her articulations, but the orchestra looked for me so sad and boring... She needs better companions at my advice ;-}

Então só me resta observar o seguinte: seria melhor se víssemos o resto da orquestra. Evitariam assim de achar que tudo que ouvimos sai exclusivamente dos três recados do órgão! Fora isso, porém, é considerando somente a beleza da música, o sentimento de quanto perdemos com o envolver histórico. Ainda bem, contudo, que jovens como a pianista dediquem o seu melhor ao resgate de tais tesouros. Meus parabéns!

Hanel's organ concerto are very beautiful , I do not why they are not played as often . Much better than Saint-Saens' organ concerto. The dialogue between the orchestra and the organ is sublime.

Handel understood the organ quite a bit more than ‘quite well’: in fact, he was arguably the best organ player of his era, astounding the Italian audiences in Rome, surpassing Scarlatti in a reputed contest.

I must lead a sheltered life! I have never before seen an organ with the colour of the keys reversed, where white are black, and black are white. Quite extraordinary! And, I have to say, most beautifully played. Thank you.
