What's wrong with fortnite nothing don't create hate because this season you can't get a victory that's your fault get better at the game don't hate on it cause you can't win
I did watch the entire video I also have been playing fortnite and see the problems but I don't complain I enjoy playing just because I know things happen it's trial and error you try something out if you like it you keep doing it if you don't like it you change it right that's the same with game developers so stop coming at people stop feeling pressed over something that isn't your product
Fortnite should bring back the old mode select screen with all of these new modes... I would love to be able to play each mode with a separate lobby, like how Save The World is set up. It would make things be partitioned just right so that there wouldn't be any loss of content, but still so that things wouldn't feel as bloated. Edit: Also, bare minimum, Fortnite has got to fix the discovery feed. The “By Epic” row needs to be front and center every time, not some red vs blue map. Being able to customize the discovery feed to be able to pin different maps for quick access would be great too, but I rest my case.
What they should really do, is work on a new launcher for all these new modes instead of making the game feel like ROBLOX or a movie selector like Netflix, sure this might make me sound like im spitting a nostalgic trip, but the old UI's were better.. All of these new changes are starting to trip out, but devs aren't listening.
Epic doesn't want BR to be the focus anymore. They want BR to be just another gamemode in the platform that is Fortnite, they want it to be equal with Festival and Lego and Rocket Racing, and even all the creator made modes. They want Fortnite to be a platform like Roblox so they are minimalizing the UI and taking all of the originality and character out because they don't want players to feel like they are loading up a fun unique and stylized experience. They want loading Fortnite to feel more like loading the Xbox or PlayStation store and browsing for a new game to play.
Thats the issue with some people, some people like this change, some people do not like this change. If they do not want to focus on the "battle royal" mode, they should have a separate team, and work on the battle royal mode, and make new launchers and everything for the side modes like, creative, lego fortnite etc, on a whole new engine. The main focus originally was a Zombie defense game and a Battle royal game.
they are so stupid for that because when a new season for battle royale launches everyone goes mad and the servers are done so why are the server done if br isn’t ur focus? because for new rocket or festive seasons etc it doesn’t go down
It’s even crazier when you realize that the current Roblox style of game modes that we have now was planned during the early days of Fortnite BR so even though BR was the focus at some point ultimately in the long run it wasn’t
@@dddripz most of what the community cares about is just chapter 1. I hate this argument because it shows how blinded by nostalgia people are (not meaning you) lots of people don’t even try to give change a chance and just quit saying Fortnite was better in og constantly and it’s annoying asf. Epic listens to the community a lot and there has been a lot of praise lately with the gameplay itself. Only problem is the ui and shops.
@@Beans34_WIts not changes most us don't like, its changes that Epic is doing to game, that we don't like, along with taking away what made game great and special, like Skins being legendary, epic, common and ect... And holidays on Epic use feel special now there just another day, maybe few changes, like Christmas they took away cabin, and Halloween was awesome, now it few pumpkins on map, just its not same.. and they charge for Battle Pass but not they giving mini battle pass for more money, there going have 2 this season with star wars, but events ain't special no more, there just sale skins....
People say we can’t adapt to change but we’ve already adapted to the huge changes in the first 3 chapters, the problem isn’t change, it’s the fact that simply doesn’t feel like fortnite since chapter 4 came out. It’s also not burn out, I crave the old feeling of fortnite every day, but when I try to play I don’t get that feeling anymore and haven’t since chapter 3. They’re changing what made fortnite fortnite and newer players can’t recognize that because they never played old fortnite
As a newer player (started in chapter 3) idk im kinda mixed with this cause on one hand i really enjoyed season og and all the stuff they did in that season. One the other fortnite is still really fun. But you guys cant handle change since most of the time yall always yap on how chapter 1 was better when it should be a mix of the strengths of both. (Also i like the avatar collab)
I started playing Chapter 3 season 1 and I do feel like Fortnite has changed as well since we got the movement change. Every update after that made it feel less like Fortnite. I missed the cartoony animations. The graphics aren't the problem. I can appreciate the update to that. I also miss the quirky items that fortnite had. We have less animals. Haven't seen boats in I don't know how long, weather etc. Petting features. The UI is very bland now and lacks character and color. The locker UI is absolutely atrocious. Someone recently uploaded a locker UI fix on TH-cam that looks like the old locker with quality of life improvements with the new modes and I totally agree with his version of what the locker should be. I do want my rarity system back and on the side note I do feel like epic has raised prices with also removing rarities when is the last time you have seen an 800 v-buck skin be released? It does feel like stepped backwards tbh
@@tyronedavis5363 good points but keep in mind not releasing 800 v buck skins for a while doesn't mean that they increased the price it just means that they're giving you more skins of a higher value. Also all the old 800 v buck skins are still the same price. If you bought all the old ones you want I guess that's not necessarily a bad problem lol
@@Klarque_Clint It does still seem like epic games is probably rasing prices in the item shop cause now the avatar collab they are charging 2000 for one skin.
@@tyronedavis5363 honestly i still enyoyed fortnite even during chapter 4 granted i did not play season 3 or 4 of that chapter but i did play the first 2 seasons and they were really fun. Also i feel like alot of your points are smaller nitpicks like less items in lootpool. We still get plenly of cool items in the lootpool. I do agree with the ui the older one was so much better but it does not ruin the game for me that much for me to say it lost its identity just cause of that. Rarity system should come back though
0:49 My issue with the rarity removal is the price hikes, which it was a rushjob to hide (the hidden rarities were still in the files and harvesting tool rarities can be seen when you join a game) after people noticed a skin on the shop was more expensive than its rarity suggested.
As an OG I love Fortnite still and love 95% of the changes. Some are super stupid. But for the most part have not messed with the game as a whole. I will say that it doesn’t exactly feel like the same game but it feels like an updated. I will say I miss classic Fortnite. But it can never be like that again. Or else it would just be outdated and very repetitive because there wouldn’t be any change. I think change is good.
Yeah, which is sad. It got the battlefront and battlefield v treatment in the early 2020's. I think they should revive the mode with a small dev team, yeah sure they have that already but if it was the original core of the game, it should get more attention.
6:18 yeah, that's another big thing. They've gotten rid of the old art style (which I'm fine with), but my biggest issue is how they've massacred the almost universally recognized UI, from the angular aesthetic, to the iconic blue, the iconic font, and overall it being good. Nowadays, it feels like a sad mobile game. (At least, ui wise)
I do have to add, that the classic Fortnite „style“ is something I am missing, the look of chapter 1 skins, maps, assets are something, that was a part of Fortnite’s identity ngl
It would be great if they brought it back but modified it to fit the newer generation. Add more detail while still keeping the design philosophy, more props, higher quality textures. OG was almost that but 100% of it was just reusing the original wall and prop pieces. Think to most "remastered" games, same design, fresher look
3:51 This really should be obvious by the fact that Epic specifically acquired Playtonic and Harmonix to work on Rocket Racing and Fortnite -Rock Band- Festival. Course now Rocket League fans are thinking that Rocket League is dead.
i started ch1 szn 5,i personally love this chapter and dont rlly have a priblem at all, i think if fortnite stayed as simple as it was, then it would of died long ago, whether yall like it or not, this is necessary for fn to continue, yall js need to accept it,and when u do trust me yall will enjoy it,also i already know when this chapter is gone, yall are gonna be like "chapter 5 was underrated"
if i'm to be fr, I agree with what you said to the fullest extent. when battle royal was originally created, it still had the same stuff from stw. this meant that it had the same style but just in a different gamemode. it still felt like fortnite but just with a different story or nerative. then we got creative which was still a gamemode that felt nessesary and was still fun to have. this meant it would also have the same style. now we have the lego mode, im sorry but i dont understand why this had to be a gamemode. like if you want a survival gamemode, make a survival gamemode. there is litterly no perpous for it to be specifically lego. same with rocket racing. im not mad about the skins, thats a cool feacher. but i'm confused why it has to be a perminet game mode. it could have easily been just a creative gamemode. festival is what is confusing me the most. its litterly just guitar hero in fortnite. im not mad at the emote or music tracks, thoes are fine. the main problem that i have with all 3 of these gamemode stem from one common problem, they don't have a perpus for being in the game besides to appeal to a different demagraphic. im greatfull for the stuff that it gives us, but the gamemodes themself aren't really that special. if i want to play a survival game that looks like lego, ill play minecraft with a lego texter pack. if i want to play a racing game, ill play mario kart 8. if i want to play guitar hero, ill play guitar hero. battle royel on the otherhand has a perpus for existing for it is what made the game so beloved to begin with. sense there trying to go with this idea that isn't really even working to being with, its slowly making battle royal not as important when it should be.
These are really good points bro I'll be using them in the next video. You hit the nail on the head tho. It's not that these new modes are bad it's just that they aren't packaged in a way that feel natural to what Fortnite is.
@@Klarque_Clint fr. because in all respect, i had fun with some of these gamemodes. there fun in there own ways. it just doesn't feel natural for them to be in fortnite.
I have one theory, as it happens in spanish goverment each time that the political party in the government change the new government spend a lot of time and resources in changing and destroying all the work of the "previous administration". What if people in charge of Fortnite changed with the chapter 5 not just the Creative Director? What if all the stupid changes breaking features that were all right are because they were from the "previous administration"? It will explain most of it!
I'm pretty sure the metaverse was Mustards original plan based on the recent interview, but he still wanted to maintain a consistent art direction and feel which is exactly what modern fortnite is lacking
Unfornately this what happends to many games especially live services. They need to change in order to get more players to play their game but while doing so they throw away their identity and their main playerbase.
I really don’t think so, especially with season. I understand they are actively trying to go more cooperate with the ui but I honestly there’s a way they could implement that, perhaps give the diffrent modes subtly diffrent ui.
I think the problem might be that they are trying to have several separate games packed into one, which as a result makes it feel cluttered and overwhelming. I personally have no problem with seasons having new themes because after a while the same old stuff becomes boring. Not to say the older stuff should just be thrown away but they could possibly pull off the feeling with newer stuff and keep its charm. Me personally I have always envied people who got to play Chapter 2 Season 2 as it looked like a fun season. But yeah I do think it feels like a big advertisement with how they are doing things as of now.
the thing that drew me to fortnite was the art style, it was nothing like the other battle royales id seen and the charm and character the game held made the tone lighthearted and fun. fortnite was so so good at incorporating themes into their seasons and everything flowed together in one consistent feel no matter what you were playing. after chapter 2, although i think chapter 3 wasnt the most drastic change i still think to me it made me lose interest. i remember dropping in for the first time on the new map and everything seemed too clean and refined, there were still things that fit the theme, but i did notice things that made me wonder whether fortnite was trying to blend in with the other games aesthetics. i know people like to say that you only like the old maps because of nostalgia, and yes while i do miss some memories i had back then, i also just miss how the game used to look and feel. let me mention collabs for a second. if you look at older collab skins, you can see how they were brought into the fortnite world and you can tell they are a fortnite skin. now, any real life person who comes to fortnite is just added in like they can define the art style for some reason and some of them are pretty jarring compared to older ones. i dont have a problem with collabs, but like you said, i dont like how they rely on them moreso instead of having them now and again for of course the cosmetics, but also fun game modes instead of looking like an obvious advertisement.
The Avatar collab should have been built up the Whole Season. Maybe have an event like we are having now... But have it changed up to where it was closer to the end of the season... And the event itself didn't involve Aang but just his friends... Like somehow they are trying to find Aang and they think he has been captured by the Greek characters on the island or something... Then right at the end of the event it's discovered he was frozen away again somehow and on that iceberg. So then the event goes into a mode of trying to raise the temperature of the BR island using some kind of fire bending shenanigans so that Aang could be released easier or something. And as we do you see a little more of the ice melt away every week. Then at the end of the season on the last day we manage to melt enough of the ice and... A live event happens... Aang breaks out of the ice in the Avatar state! Zeus and maybe one or two of the other Greek characters fly across the map to take on Aang. They battle ALL OVER THE ISLAND! With Aang really tearing up the island as he takes it too Zeus. And eventually Aang wins... And Zeus and the rest the Greek characters are forced to leave the island. Except maybe Aphrodite who stays as an npc you can talk too in the next season. And that would be the end of season 2 and maybe afterwards they could have did a little video of showing Aang and his gang fixing a few of the POI's that got damaged before leaving and having them turn into Last Airbender styled locations for the next season. That's how this should have happened!
Crazy how we went from to a game that we thought wouldn't have seasons, then a new season dropped, then we had a live event I guess it was a small one as it was meteors hitting the island, then we had I'm pretty sure it was the 1st actual live event being the Rocket launch, then we had the End event which we all or most of us thought it was the end of Fortnite, then we got a new chapter a few days after the End event, then we got the ch2 End event and the island flipped which we never expected, then we got ch3, then ch3 ended after 4 seasons with the Fracture event and that event was so bad, then we got ch4, then UEFN released, then ch4 ended after 4 basically 5 seasons as OG was part of ch4, then ch5 released, then we got 3 new modes, and then we got an announcement that starting in 2025 BR seasons will be shipped in UEFN the game has evolved a lot
I’m not asking for og fortnite to comeback I would like them to have a mixture of all old loot and a map that is mixed between all five chapters. I’m sick of having completely new guns that keep getting worse and a whole completely new map
Ive been here since the start, I remember my friend telling me about a cool game that you jump out of a bus onto an island and fight for your death just like hunger games mixed with Minecraft. The ideal of fortnite in the beginning was a Zombie Base defense survival.. The only reason why the game turned into a Battle royal was because games like PUBG and so on where gaining popularity, Fortnite had to save its game via launching a battle royal, the thing that I love about fortnite was its simplicity and classic skins like Raven, Black knight and so on, something cool like a revolver with a scope on was a cool update, these new modes are kind of changing the game in either a good or bad way. Fortnites identity could be killed if the devs don't listen to the community, they have before in chapter 1 but haven't been as much lately. What they should do, is make a separate game with all these new modes and Creative with UEFN on separate games.
I think the thing that'll match BR is some kind of coop/story mode to play. Fortnite has a cool story that I'd love to interact with without the stress of other players trying to kill me. And maybe i could focus more on showing off cosmetics with my friends.
This season we have the Drum Gun and Hand Cannon back but now they support weapon mods so old weapons can return they are just gonna most likely support weapon mods
@@ryanfares263 ik but what I’m talking about is that they shouldn’t have most of the guns being new to a chapter or season and only bringing a few old guns back. And that they should keep most guns in like the og ones and not re-release the same gun but with a different model and name. But this chapter would be an exception because of the weapon modding. But they could always just make it so that only some weapons are mod able
I would still argue that some of Fortnite's identity is being lost, and a significant part of that was Donald Mustard leaving the company. He was the Chief Creative Officer of Epic Games. He doesn't deserve all the credit for Fortnite's vision, but he was a large contributor to that vision. He put so much passion into the game. And he contributed a lot to Fortnite's story. I think the ongoing narrative in BR gave Fortnite some of its identity, and it's most been absent since Chapter 3. Apart from Season OG, Chapters 4 and 5 felt like filler content. What stories that were told were self contained. There were some filler Seasons in the past, but there was also connective tissue, like the Zero Point, I.O., and the Seven. Jonesy is still around, but his role has been significantly reduced since Chapter 3, almost never appearing in Chapter 4, and doing very little in Chapter 5 beyond rescuing Peely. The biggest thing for me is that Fortnite feels overwhelming and unnecessarily complex, snd BR is getting lost in the shuffle.
The biggest problem with gaming industries these days is that other gaming companies want to be like eachother. Its sad too see Fortnite loosing its point and meaning of the game like live events and what makes it special I hate that there taking ideas from other games and trying to be like roblox which that will never happen because the community for roblox is super huge and they wouldn't be able to top that. There missing what really makes the heart of Fortnite and if only they followed the heart and the meaning of Fortnite success will come for them. Fortnite was so fun back in the day and its devastating too see what it has become now I wish they would listen to the community and realise that there's a bigger picture and that they need to focus what the community wants and not focusing on other gaming industries.
I want Fortnite to add in the previous chapters as seperate gamemodes but not for nostalgia, but for when people like me are getting tired of the current one and just want some variation. Look at Apex - it shifts it's map every week and whilst I don't think Fortnite should do that I think having the option to play the others would be amazing. We already have OG and Chapter 4 built in Unreal 5 so why don't they introduce those as seperate modes and after the Chapter 2 rerun add that. Same goes for when they do Chapter 3 OG in the future, they can do the month long season and then add it after that. I think this would make the game a lot less repetitive for me at least
I like that people like rocket racing but I hate it because it has genuinely changed too much to rocket League a completely different game and they alienated a large part of the community and then they are not fixing all the crazy exploits in rocket League like people are kick others from servers so they win and those people are the top 5 people in the world and then people going invisible (it might be fixed I have seen anything about it in a few days) it has made me lose any passion to play rocket league and it makes me sad but I don't think epic cares and they only focus on fortnite and forget everything else
I love the Br and i agree with you about alot of stuff but this whole metaverse thing just has me thinking alot about how the games gonna go.. people have been talking abour the bad changes and speaking up to get epic attention that they don't like it but then nothing ever happens and its ignored I know they do listen to the community but its so hard to believe that rn when they're ignoring people like italk or other people casually concerned about the game That issue is probably due to the backlash and harassment to developers Its bad to see and i hate people who do that I just feel like fortnite should come out and talk about the changes instead of hiding from the backlash so people can understand why they did it.
Fortnite in my opinion is just way too overwhelming. There is way too much going on in almost every aspect of the game . The game selector has so much trash when I just want to play battle Royale, the shop has like a million tabs, br has a lot of good content but has a LOT going on, etc. I just miss when Fortnite was simple
I guess I understand but Fortnite wants to do a lot at once I wish they would make og a separate game mode I wish they would find a way to balance the collabs more so they don't give us to much and honestly I wish they would make avatar battle Royale lol that would feel cool if they could
Something I really think is that Epic is kinda lost by its ambicious plans and goals (what is not wrong to have necessaraly, but is), losing the identity of Fortnite, the changes and metamorphosis are part of Fortnite's DNA but the main issue is that you can change A LOT WITHOUT losing its essence. If you make another live about it I'd love to talk more and explain my thoughts lol
Fortnite lost focus when creative came out is season 7. They did not know what they wanted to do with it, then one day switched full focus on what it could be. Fast-forward and now old ideas in creative maps are fully built games that you can play with the benefit of your locker going with you. They realized that while we will always play the br game, what if to play the new Lego game, for example, you could load in for free and get to play a new Lego game. A small shift that people have not talked about is that all the Lego modes are owned by Lego but are in fortnite. You can now copyright and trademark your own game in fortnite. The reason this in so big is the currency is all the same. It's no different than going to an arcade but fortnite is the ad. This is what ready player one touched on, the idea that all you favorite characters and worlds could be one mode switch away. If handled correctly this could be amazing, as long as we remember that we shouldn't only play on fortnite.
i dont see how fortnite being a free game doesnt allow for any criticism of the state the game is in fortnite works on a predatory business model that is proven to work, especially on children and teens, groups that are the most likely to overbuy if you are active, you are bound to buy a cosmetic at one point, because you feel the pressure to do so, you will then feel the need to buy more and more, because that is how their business model works of course there are exceptions, but that is not the majority of the active playerbase and epic, with that strategy, makes around 4 billion USD out of their 4-6 billion USD yearly from fortnite and that is just insane fortnite basically made a free game a paid game, and customers that pay should have a voice in what direction they want the game to head in, without satisfied customers epic will just go down in revenue epic right now doesnt care about their customers as much as they used to: the og season was sloppy, false promises of ui changes or qol changes in festival, racing or lego yet to be implemented; for every good change they make there are way more bad ones anyone at this point can open a business textbook and instantly tell customer satisfaction is a priority, and ignoring that will backfire on them
Epic could’ve turned this game into a metaverse while still keeping the same feel and tradition the game had when its identity was first built, the problem is ‘simplification’ and ‘modernization’ of the game’s feel and tradition stripped it of its unique identity thus resulting in the company appearing as more corporate. Another thing is its both epic and the community’e fault regarding updates, Epic pushes out in update which might not have had a lot of thought and effort put in, then after the update releases the community backlashes in absolute outrage causing epic to not communicate as much. It’s epics fault for not putting as much effort or thought into an update (e.g. chapter 5s corporate feel and identity. ) and the community’s fault for responding in an absurdly negative way to the updates they release. This is majorly why Fortnite has felt like its lost its identity, also regarding the little details they’d put into the game which added up, e.g. battle stars on the map, weekly seasonal loading screen hinting secrets including battle star locations, 3d lobby backgrounds, fun LTMs, seasonal events, side modes for collabs, properly set weekly and daily challenges, toys and pets in battle passes, cool and mysterious storyline. To me atleast the game felt very connective and welcoming, it felt like epic worked on the game with love, effort and passion. Thats what i really miss.
The day fortnite says we are no longer going to have building apart of our game it's strictly no builds that's when I'll say yea fortnite has lost its identity.
The game has changed so much. The game is trying to do everything to be bigger and bigger. But it is losing its old look and old feel. It’s almost becoming roblox
As the resident Day 1 edition disc player I think Epic should def have more of a focus on BR. I think in all honesty the 3 new core modes should have separate lobbies and such like stw does so they can clean up the shop a bit but also keep the core BR & Creative stuff together like it used to be. I'm not a hater of the new changes but I don't really favor how things are shifting towards them trying to be Roblox practically
I feel like Epic want to make the game like games like cod and roblox at the same time. Its like if both games had a baby together. They know that this fortnite we have now that is bad and that the comunity dont like it they just try to push trough to the end of the tunnel and think we will like it, but it just getting worse by every week but they just dont listen and this is why im scared for the this so called next era😢
Heres my 50 cents has epic made some silly uneeded changes that nobody asked for? Yes. do they need criticism to fix these? Yes. but people have to accept that fortnite is no longer just a br but a whole game with other games inside it . And about critism the community has some good people who can criticize it but there are people who take critism to the next level and harass the shit out of devs which is not ok
i'm not going to be mad or anything as this could just be a big hiccup, as in no one likes this new strategy (i honestly don't care about the others because the majority are the ones who are mad) Epic can come back from this like they have in the past so I'll just be waiting to see what comes next. But that doesn't mean I'm enjoying myself playing the game right now.
I think that in the way rocket league is a separate downloadable game where it's cosmetics transfer into fortnite, this same thing should be applied towards rocket racing and lego fortnite, especially rocket racing because it uses cars from rocket league so it's kinda wierd its in fortnite in the first place
4:22 it was battle royal that was with special game modes and updates to make battle royal fun and unique when look at modern Fortnite I see Roblox with higher graphics tbh my opinion
Every season Fortnite loses players but C5 has changed the game completely and due to rigging loot together with ridiculous OP weapons designed to shorten games there is a new breed of players who just camp and hide, which has ruined the game for me. All Epic needs to do is give equal loot to everyone, bring back upgrade benches. nerf all OP weapons, ditch useless weapons and make the game fun and fair again. I gave up ranked because I never get shield or decent loot only the trash weapons. I’m done with Fortnite now as Epic don’t change.
Fortnite isn’t free because everyone is pressured to get cosmetics The new modes also take away from br because it took away from the event squad Also the game is literally change for the sake of change now
Are we not going to be addressing save the world? I mean, save the world is the reason why fortnite was fortnite. It was meant to be a horror zombie shoot it up game. I just believe that fortnite is doing whatever makes money instead of having a good experience killing terrifying monsters and having cool heroes. I just wish that fortnite would have been released in 2011 instead of 2017 because it would have been a thrilling experience to go around hearing ominous music while building a fort to survive the night. And to be honest, i wanted an experience that the 2011 trailer had for fortnite instead of now ,it looked fun to play.
people play fortnite for diff reasons. i play it for the maps people make. meanwhile my friend loves Lego. i like that epic is getting out of their comfort zone to get more players to join for diff reasons. let em cook i feel like they are planning something big.
Me personally i only play games to get better have no interest in skins UI changes ive played since early C1 never spent any money other than once on the battle and i use the free VBucks to buy skins but i can be a deafault skin and it wouldn't bother me
One of the worst parts of all of this is that this started directly after the og season which was the best appreciation epic games showed towards fans for some time
Epic needs to realize that ONE of the main factors that got BR got so popular was because of its unique art style and aesthetics. When I first saw the game’s trailer as a 7 year old kid in 2017, I was fascinated because of its art style. I loved the unique cartoony trees, atmosphere, storm and etc. Later on, I started to play Fortnite in chapter 1 season 4 on mobile. They weren’t very great, but a season later I switched to Xbox and I fell in love with it. The 3D lobby background, graphics, and the colors made me love it. I would play hours upon hours just because of the way the game looked. Now don’t get me wrong, the new graphics are AMAZING and astonishing, but that’s not Fortnite. For instance, let’s take, The Simpson’s, and change the cartoony art style of it, to a realistic style. Same with, Minecraft, let’s replace the blocky art style of the game with something completely different… like the art style of Cyberpunk. I don’t think anyone would favor these changes as it takes away what made these games/shows what they are now. So I feel like this is what Fortnite is doing, even though they are improving the graphics of the game. They are forgetting one of things that made Fortnite, Fortnite. So I just wanted to say that Fortnite, needs to bring back the old art style and aesthetics of the game as that is one of the main reasons why the game is what it is today. You don’t need to take out the ray tracing and lumen effects out of the game completely, but make them blend in with the game’s graphic’s.
I prefer the newer graphics by a long shot. The detail, colors, and lighting blended together best last chapter. That and Fortnite has done a pretty good job changing those things since chapter one while still keeping some of the game’s cartoonish feeling.
I don’t agree with the changes they’ve been making. I don’t like rarity removal, I don’t like the meta verse, nor do I like the bad item shops. Yet i still enjoy the game, i still think its fun. While I miss the vibe the game had in chapter 3, things change. For better or for worse the game is changing. I’ve gotten used to bullet drop but i much rather prefer hit scan. I’ve adapted and have still found enjoyment in the game. Every one is allowed to express their opinion but there is no need for threats or violence. At the end of the day it’s just a game, if you’re distaste for the game is so much to the point where you threatening developers then the problem is you and not the game.
In my main account I started chapter 2 season 1 and my brothers account I started chapter 1 season 4 its really not the same today people who started chapter 3 and above will never understand
Fortnite needs to stop changing things for the sake of changing things! The Item Shop UI & Locker UI were fine they didnt need to touch it! They keep messing up over and over and need to listen to the community because we are sick of being ignored and given cheap collabs and god awful season events! FN feels to business like cold, greedy and no feedback. I miss the classic days when FN felt like a game made with love instead of a game now that feels like a giant ad!
Sigh. The problem with always trying to appear "fair" and toe the line between sides, is that you wind up saying nothing. This is why so many big corporations get away with garbage decisions. Because the younger generation either fanboys and defends everything, or content creators either ignore controversy entirely or toe the line like you here. We need more big creators who aren't afraid to just be blunt with Epic. These choices suck. Your direction sucks. Every season for the last 5 years has been collab + collab mythic + vaults + bosses. Rinse, repeat. The only thing that changes really, is Epic forcing this game to be more realistic and also trying to force us away from BR, often with what equates to anti-QOL changes. Epic is screwing us in order to elevate their ultimate agenda. To make Fortnite into Roblox. Btw, I know you really want the old feel of this game back, Klarque. Don't worry about appeasing both sides just to keep the fanboys on your channel. Being blunt will pick you up a bunch of new fans who appreciate realness.
homie with all due respect until you talk in a vc or jump on a stream to chat I won't be engaging with these comments. I appreciate you commenting consistently but you always throw a lot of loaded opinionated points while somehow always missing the point of what's being said in the video. Let me know if you'd be down to chat beyond a keyboard lol. Then we can have a real conversation.
RE4 remake is a lesson to the gaming industry on how to modernise a game whilst keeping its identity and unique gameplay. I don’t believe Epic cares for Fortnite or its players and they know the next generation of eight year-olds will buy into anything.
You say that but how many changes have they made that didn't benefit them and only benefits the players an example of this was Kado thorne didn't have a specific style and a bunch of people wanted it so Epic added it they didn't need to and would still have been fine. I agree with what Klarque said they don't particularly wanna communicate and listen to feedback when a bunch of the community doxes and harasses the devs working on the game. Also Epics a business so no matter what they of course will try to make money but the difference is you're not forced to buy anything they still regularly update the game with free gameplay changes and give out tons of free rewards. They have plenty of times made changes that the community wanted it's not like they never tried to please the players they just are doing what they believe is best for their game. I seen somewhere that their original plan back in chapter 1 was always to have a bunch of unique modes in the game, and Epic has always wanted their game to be a metaverse. While not everything they implement is executed the best, and I agree a couple of the changes aren't good they still do a lot for their game and the community, it's not always but they tend to listen a lot. I understand that they make bad decisions but not everything Epic does is some evil scheme, you make it sound like Epic tries to use children, when they can't control what the majority of their fanbase is. This is a free game that doesn't require any payment and can still easily be enjoyed by anybody that plays the game. I do think the direction they're going can be bad if they don't do what Klarque said and find the right balance between community and metaverse. TL;DR, Epic communicates and makes changes based on feedback, Kado Thorne style, community is toxic and can be hard to listen to. Epics a business, not all updates/changes they make, or cosmetics they are, best interest of players. Epic constantly updates game also giving plenty of free rewards. Plan was always game with a bunch of modes and multiverse. Not every change is good but, they do a lot for their game and community. Some bad decisions but, aren't always out to get money from players. Game is free and all purchases are optional, only supports the game. Direction Epic is going can be bad, need to find balance and not get carried away.
im not a native speaker and its incredible how easy it is to understand you, that really makes your video entertaining as your speaking is dynamic and goes well with the background music!
I'm one of the folks in the second camp you mentioned in the start of the video, but MAN this is the BEST take I've heard about this whole situation tbh.
Honestly all they need to do is fix the guns I dislike the bullet drop the recoil is insane on some of the guns and the attachments barely work they just need to do traditional weapons with attachments but you can’t change the attachments on the gun and of course gold is best epic is better blue is good green is ok and grey is bad just keep it simple and the game would be perfect
I think it ost its identity since they stopped caring about the story for BR, as well as its art style going for realism instead of the cartoonish look it originally had

I would forntine something special like vibes 🎉
Like looks like this what makes forntine so impressive back in the year I believe that is need some special like a item and memory
Being able to customize the discovery feed to be able to pin different maps for quick access would be great too, but I rest my case.
facts
What they should really do, is work on a new launcher for all these new modes instead of making the game feel like ROBLOX or a movie selector like Netflix, sure this might make me sound like im spitting a nostalgic trip, but the old UI's were better.. All of these new changes are starting to trip out, but devs aren't listening.
thats genius
Yes. Epic modes should not be front and center, not (and I'm sorry for this) Skibidi Toilet Tycoon 1v1 boxfights
Yea that's the problem. Fortnite BR needs to be the focus because that's what we want to play the most. Hopefully they understand that.
The only reason these other modes are here is to bring people that wouldn't necessarily ever play a BR, to BR. They're just bait for BR.
No but if Tim Sweeney keeps tryna robloxify the game then yes it will. Hopefully Epic turns around eventually
Yeah, if he doesn't then the game is going to keep getting worse until the game actually dies
Player count spiked in OG season and has went down since the start of Chapter 5. It’s clear what people want but Epic refuses to give it to us
@@dddripz most of what the community cares about is just chapter 1. Only problem is the ui and shops.
ts is the future of fortnite 😭 br is just a dying fad
I think change is good.
the only identity fortnite still has left is save the world which rarely gets updates
Its alot of fun if Im being frank, Its good old fashion FN. If it wasn't 40 dollars I'd be happy.
Yeah, which is sad. It got the battlefront and battlefield v treatment in the early 2020's. I think they should revive the mode with a small dev team, yeah sure they have that already but if it was the original core of the game, it should get more attention.
True
Yeah but it's good jt doesn't get updates because if it did, then it would be ruined and end up like br
That's a good theory based on corporations always trying to remove the originality of the product.
This actually seems more solid than anything tbh.

Me personally i think it lost it’s identity when they introduced ch4 cuz they changed everything and didn’t bring back old locations/guns
I've played every season since chapter one, season four, and it's a great game still to this day, I put 6 hours daily into fortnite

You’re legit my fortnite guy at this point lmao 😂! Every time I see you post I alr know it’s gonna be a banger.
I just miss when fortnite was its own game and was just BR focused😕
Ya know I used to be apposed to this idea but the more that time goes on I'm starting to think this could be a good idea.
I honestly just want this because I wish I played more back in the previous chapters and now that I'm finally getting into the game I can't
I love the Br and i agree with you about alot of stuff but this whole metaverse thing just has me thinking alot about how the games gonna go.. people have been talking abour the bad changes and speaking up to get epic attention that they don't like it but then nothing ever happens and its ignored
I know they do listen to the community but its so hard to believe that rn when they're ignoring people like italk or other people casually concerned about the game
That issue is probably due to the backlash and harassment to developers
Its bad to see and i hate people who do that
I just feel like fortnite should come out and talk about the changes instead of hiding from the backlash so people can understand why they did it.
I guess I understand but Fortnite wants to do a lot at once I wish they would make og a separate game mode I wish they would find a way to balance the collabs more so they don't give us to much and honestly I wish they would make avatar battle Royale lol that would feel cool if they could
What epic games should have done is use the avatar Mythics in a separate LTM instead of removing the season Mythics
I’m with you as they trying to take Fortnite into a new direction
The only thing I don't like about current fortnite is less cartoony graphics and ui changes
Great video! Even though I do thoroughly enjoy the current era of Fortnite, I thought this was a very insightful video.
i dont see how fortnite being a free game doesnt allow for any criticism of the state the game is in
fortnite works on a predatory business model that is proven to work, especially on children and teens, groups that are the most likely to overbuy
if you are active, you are bound to buy a cosmetic at one point, because you feel the pressure to do so, you will then feel the need to buy more and more, because that is how their business model works
of course there are exceptions, but that is not the majority of the active playerbase
and epic, with that strategy, makes around 4 billion USD out of their 4-6 billion USD yearly from fortnite and that is just insane
fortnite basically made a free game a paid game, and customers that pay should have a voice in what direction they want the game to head in, without satisfied customers epic will just go down in revenue
epic right now doesnt care about their customers as much as they used to: the og season was sloppy, false promises of ui changes or qol changes in festival, racing or lego yet to be implemented; for every good change they make there are way more bad ones
anyone at this point can open a business textbook and instantly tell customer satisfaction is a priority, and ignoring that will backfire on them
i loved playing back then and I love playing back now....
Thats what i really miss.
see you got that never run a business thing from me lol
Chapter 5 is good the only thing I don’t like is that the op aspect of every gun makes the loot pool 100% skilless
The day fortnite says we are no longer going to have building apart of our game it's strictly no builds that's when I'll say yea fortnite has lost its identity.
@kaizenmanipulationThey tried once lol
if Fortnite really wants to be roblox it’s going to need to add another chat feature besides vc
In the Unreal showcase they showed them planing to release text chat
Public lobbies are 70-80 ai players(bots) that’s what’s killing the game!
The game has changed so much. The game is trying to do everything to be bigger and bigger. But it is losing its old look and old feel. It’s almost becoming roblox
Fortnite’s identity is its ability to change, if Fortnite was the same from 2018 the game would be dead now
Didn’t another youtuber named 808savion make a video just like this?
As the resident Day 1 edition disc player I think Epic should def have more of a focus on BR. I think in all honesty the 3 new core modes should have separate lobbies and such like stw does so they can clean up the shop a bit but also keep the core BR & Creative stuff together like it used to be. I'm not a hater of the new changes but I don't really favor how things are shifting towards them trying to be Roblox practically
The main thing I agree with is the avatar ltm I wouldn’t mind broken items in an ltm
I miss the og art style thats really it i like the gameplay a lot but the sense of community is def not their anymore like it used to be
fortnite's true identity is change, fight me (don't actually)
Heres my 50 cents has epic made some silly uneeded changes that nobody asked for? Yes. do they need criticism to fix these? Yes. but people have to accept that fortnite is no longer just a br but a whole game with other games inside it . And about critism the community has some good people who can criticize it but there are people who take critism to the next level and harass the shit out of devs which is not ok
And some people in the com are nothing but self righious spoiled assholes and it sad
i'm not going to be mad or anything as this could just be a big hiccup, as in no one likes this new strategy (i honestly don't care about the others because the majority are the ones who are mad) Epic can come back from this like they have in the past so I'll just be waiting to see what comes next.
I want it to change to the way it was not how it’s going 💀
Fortnite lost its identity the moment Tencent bought Epic and made them do BR, but I don't care (a lot) and enjoy most of the modes and updates
Im okay if it wasn’t the og core id as long as it’s well built like chapter 2 season 2 (best season ever) or cyberpunk city thing(best pump ever)
Dejavu... It feels like I have seen this video from you already
Ok but fr, what im mostly annoyed about his how they got rid of their entire story
Wish chapter 1 map could come back. After that they could do whatever and I’ll still be happy.😂
Wish chapter 2 stayed longer
4:22 it was battle royal that was with special game modes and updates to make battle royal fun and unique when look at modern Fortnite I see Roblox with higher graphics tbh my opinion
Tim Sweeney should be fired 😡 we need Donald mustard back
I think the problem is it’s lacking story in br. For example look at chapter 2
How about Eoic fix the rarities issue. My locker sucks now. I honestly don’t know the name of all my skins, but I knew their rarity.
Fortnite isn’t free because everyone is pressured to get cosmetics
The new modes also take away from br because it took away from the event squad
Also the game is literally change for the sake of change now
Are we not going to be addressing save the world?
Me personally i only play games to get better have no interest in skins UI changes ive played since early C1 never spent any money other than once on the battle and i use the free VBucks to buy skins but i can be a deafault skin and it wouldn't bother me
Bros background music is straight out of xsport 😂
One of the worst parts of all of this is that this started directly after the og season which was the best appreciation epic games showed towards fans for some time
Yea it was definitely a jarring transition. Hopefully they can course correct to some degree.
@@Klarque_Clint agreed 👍
This video is valid.
I really hope that Fortnite isn't turning into this metaverse nonsense that it is today. Even Donald spoke about it
Epic needs to realize that ONE of the main factors that got BR got so popular was because of its unique art style and aesthetics.
The problem for me is that Fortnite has lost its art style. For me, that was more the Fortnite identity than any game modes.
Wowza first 2 maybe 3 parter this truly is a moment in history
We have like 7 modes including party royale
Fortnite needs to stop changing things for the sake of changing things! The Item Shop UI & Locker UI were fine they didnt need to touch it! They keep messing up over and over and need to listen to the community because we are sick of being ignored and given cheap collabs and god awful season events! FN feels to business like cold, greedy and no feedback. I miss the classic days when FN felt like a game made with love instead of a game now that feels like a giant ad!
Fortnite BR is at its peak rn, makes you remember how boring was season OG
I would say the experience of the game
Don't bother with this youtube he ignores you then calls you an idiot
They won’t listen to you though so we just gotta hope that they get better in the ways you said
im not a native speaker and its incredible how easy it is to understand you, that really makes your video entertaining as your speaking is dynamic and goes well with the background music!
That's a huge compliment thank you!
I'm one of the folks in the second camp you mentioned in the start of the video, but MAN this is the BEST take I've heard about this whole situation tbh.
“This seasons mythics will be back soon”
Star Wars: allow us to introduce ourselves again for the 5th time
This controversy is ridiculous. The game is great; people are unappreciative.
I think it ost its identity since they stopped caring about the story for BR, as well as its art style going for realism instead of the cartoonish look it originally had
that’s why i stop playing
they wont listen
i really want fortnite to drive to the style and graphics of chapter 2 cuz lets be realistic ch2 was the best chapter ever#
Awesome! I like all of it
