Angela Pleasance looks so much like her father, albeit a much prettier version. Glad things have moved on with doctors deciding your fate for you. Some doctors wouldn't even give you the pill because they were catholic.
The callous and self-centered attitude towards a human life. This play wasn't a dramatised, twisted view of life. This is how people did respond - especially the richer, hypocritical, self- entitled ones. It makes me ashamed about the human race.
I was only 9 when this was broadcast so don' remember it. What a "Ground Breaking" episode: discussion of moral issues & legislation. Well done the producers although in 2024 if remade it would be about a patient who wants' to under go a "Transgender Reassignment" in accordance with the latest woke Government Legislation.
I am agnostic but the Seymours are so totally without integrity, so absolutely self centred, that I can understand why the Catholic Church adopts the position they do, but in either case the issue is so much a matter of circumstances, and situation that it is difficult to adopt high moral postures, but the Seymours fill me with contempt.
Michael Caine as Alfie in 1966 was pre abolition - and the things girls had to do then to "get rid" was mightily grim! I naively watched the film with absolutely no idea of the dark turn it suddenly took when Alfie had got his latest conquest in trouble.
Excellent series great cast of actors. I've enjoyed every episode I have watched from the series.
Sadly a still timely story. Excellent writing, direction and as always acting. Thanks for sharing!
Very well done. Masterly woven bits of information that just hint at the possibilities.
Excellent episode.
Thanks.

If a baby cries all the time there is surely a reason for it. It's ill. The mum should have gone to a doc, or hospital.

The sound of grandmother's exaggerated voice/accent was so annoying, I couldn't continue.
RIVETING !
and in 2023 it is illegal in some states here in the US to have an abortion. and it is illegal to cross states to get one.
It is not illegal to travel to another State to have an abortion in the US.

Abortion and Euthanasia in 1969???
Yes! Must have been fairly controversial at the time.
