  • FMC introduction: In this video, I will show you how to start using the Zibo 737 FMC.
By the end of this video, you will know how to insert a date into the Flight Management Computer, how to navigate through the pages and how to set up your ROUTE and PERFORMANCE page.
The Flight Management Computer is used to insert, calculate or check flight data related to the sector you are flying.
The FMC is normally located next to the Lower display unit.
Depending on the Aircraft you may have multiple or single FMCs.
The Flight Management Computer has a Display Unit, Line keys, Pages buttons, and the alpha/numeric keys.
If you want to select something from the Display Unit you have to click the Line Key next to it.
The Pages buttons will bring you directly to the related flight phase page.
So, if you want to go direct to the route page you can press RTE.
If, for example, the RTE page has multiple pages you can navigate through them by pressing the PREV PAGE or the NEXT PAGE buttons.
The Blank line at the bottom of the Display Unit is called Scratchpad, whatever you write using the Alpha/numeric keys will pop up in there.
In order to enter data into the Zibo 737 Flight Management Computer, you need to write it down in the Scratchpad first and then select the line key where you want to insert the data.
One of the most important buttons is the EXEC button, this is used to Activate any major change inserted into the FMC.
The Flight Management Computer can also display some information messages related to flight operations.
These messages normally pop up when there is an action to be taken or there are some parameters that do not correct.
In the video, I received an information message warning me that I don’t have enough fuel onboard to complete the flight I intended to do.
When I set the FMC I filled up the RTE page first and then the Performance page.
You need a Flight plan, the weather information, and the load sheet of your flight in order to fill the pages correctly.

Thanks for explaining about the clear function. I was stuck on message from FMC that read nav out of date and could not input anything. After clearing the scratch pad I was able to enter info.

Hello Captain, I am an avid flight sim enthusiast flying X-Plane and using the 737-800 (Zibo Mod) as a study aircraft. I have watched literally hundreds of on-line tutorials and only recently discovered your channel. I have now watched a few of your tutorials and would like to congratulate you on your excellent presentation style. I especially appreciate your use of drawings and practical examples which add value to your presentations and make the learning process easier. I have subscribed, given a thumb up, hit the bell icon and look forward to watching most if not all of your other presentations. Expect comments from me as I progress through your fantastic range of topics. Now, a quick question from this video… At (23:43 / 33:11) you briefly touch on selecting a transition… I never know which one to choose and why so I hope you will clarify this for me please. Thank you, once again, for everything you do as a content provider to make flight simulation even more fascinating.

Hey, welcome on-board... many thanks for you great support! Really appreciated!! In some Airports you have an additional procedure, for your Arrival and your departure, called transition, that you need to follow. These procedures connects your star to your IAF, or your SID to the Airway..

@@PILOTCLIMB Thank you for the warm welcome... looking forward to learning from your invaluable experience.. so, just going into a little more detail regarding transitions, I am now a little clearer, thank you... where do I find information about the additional procedures (where applicable)... I subscribe to Navigraph and so, have access to all airport charts etc... is the info on one of those specific pages?

Hi Gabrielle, great video, thank you! I have a question about reserve fuel when planning a flight with Zibo.Below is a copy of the Simbrief information about my fuel planned. On the Zibo tablet, when I go to the fuel page, I need to enter in the field for fuel the amount written in the block fuel, right? (that would be approx. 7100 kg in my example). But then, when I am programming the FMC, and when I get to the page Perf Init, I need to enter Reserve fuel. What should I type in this field? IS it the FINRES below? (1635 kg)? Thanks!

Hey, many thanks for watching!! Normally if you want to send a message to another Aircraft you simply ask ATC to pass the message, or in case of emergency you send the message on 121.5. Let me know if you still have any questions👍

Sorry for again disturbing you. Gabriel ZIBO came with GLS function on his 737, can you ask your colleagues if it is possible to fly GLS approach with BARO VNAV? I know that LPV (alaska airlines) has VNAV path GPS calculated and as they are flying in polar region is great advatage for them. Another what does the chanel number is ? I m old school I used to fly 737CL and than standard NG but this is something new for me. Again sorry for disturbing, but so far noone can give me adeqate answer

    • @PILOTCLIMB
      @PILOTCLIMB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey, I hope you are doing great!! No problem at all! So, I don't have a lot of experience on the GLS procedures, what i know is that GLS allows you to fly precision approach with more flexibility thanks to the GNSS and the Aircraft Equipment. I have never flown a GLS using BARO Vnav, but again I have not a lot of experience flying these procedure. The channel number works alike the ILS frequency that you set on the radios when you fly an ILS approach. You need the channel in order to fly that specific GLS approach. I will update you if I get more infos.
