True, it feels like they’re trying so hard to with Reboot Ghost while OG Ghost was just a vibe. Meanwhile you can understand why OG Sheperd’s reasoning behind his actions but Reboot Sheperd is just another generic bad guy. Don’t even get me started with Reboot Soap’s death, it was so badly written that even a monkey with a typewriter could make a better script.
yeah rewatching it facing us and ourself dying next to this goat it make me cry even i am 22 years old i remember when i did it i was exactly like now sad and i would play it now hahah
It's story like this that makes me even more upset that COD f**ked up Modern Warfare. Now imagine being 9 years old and seeing this for the first time. 😢
To the guy who deleted his comment saying I should have been supervised better by my parents, this game taught me what evil looks like in the world. It taught me to defend people. I had an awesome 10 year career in the military because of good solider stories like this. Video Games don't make evil people. Poor Morals do. My uncle taught me to be better. Stand up for people instead of bring them down.
I really appreciate how expressive Saruei's model is, I could feel the contempt for Shepard. and the bitter resignation in her voice after the cutscene started.
Even as a kid, barely understanding a thing about the story this hella impacted me. This like my hardest ever mission I did and for me and the cool guy with the masked to get betrayed like that
Enemy of my enemy will remain as my favorite mission forever! The music… The battling… Two legendary characters that are enemies exchanged dialogue with each other to take down a common enemy… All of it!
You know i never thought about it, but when makarov said that "one day you will find that cuts both ways". Thats some damn good forshadowing of yuri, if they had even thought of that.
I remember being in so much denial at that part. At first I thought Ghost got shot in the shoulder or something. Then they throw our bodies in a ditch and I expected Ghost to suddenly stand back up and lay waste. Then they burned our bodies, the next cutscene plays, and I spent the rest of the game waiting for a reveal that Ghost somehow survived and singlehandedly killed all the bad guys and saved day. I haven't played the new Modern Warfare but Ghost definitely survives this time, right? *Right?*
Man, Lorne Balfe did such an amazing job on the OG MW2 sound track and it's honestly sad how they just slapped Hans Zimmer's name on all of it despite him only doing the main menu theme just because it'd look better.
Everyone talks about Ghost but not enough appreciation goes to Rook, your driver in the Boneyard level who takes a round for you. But Soap and Price manage to take his body home at least.
Modern Warfare used to be this good. This mission was extremely tense and harrowing especially on vetaran mode. You feel every bit of struggle just to make it out alive. The release, the breathe of relief when Shepard finally shows up when I first played this. Only for him to pull a 180.
If i could give a 'complaint' about this scene that also kinda applies to all of mw2 its the character of 'roach' Roach was really just the pov character for the player. He didn't really do anything for the plot other then put you there. But thats how soap started out, and i would have really like to have seen roach actually be a character. From what i heard they didn't even seize that opportunity to make him into something in the reboot

They had no right touching his character again just to play off of nostalgia. Ghost died, and they should have left him dead in honor of a time when CoD was an actually decent franchise with some interesting writing.
Yeah, cuz I'm pretty sure it's the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remaster from 2020 where they basically just made the graphics better and that's it. That or she upscaled it with mods, cuz it's definitely higher quality than the original
@@ableclips compare the knife and the prompt to pull it out here and in one of remaster videos, also the polygon count of the knife in question :) Remaster also has Beenox in titles, og is Infinity Ward only iirc I thought it was the remaster too until I saw the knife btw! Also is it me or is Saruei a bit scary when she’s quiet? I dunno why but the faces her character makes at 1:20-2:36 kinda scare me. Looks like the face of a person who has nothing left to lose. I dunno if it was face tracking issue or what, but she’s either really mad, sad, or so angry she’s speechless and thirsting for vengeance. Remember it’s the silent types that are most dangerous.
