He knew when he shouted the warning that the Captain (white cloak) and his Lieutenant (beaky boy) would do the merciful thing and end him fast. Why? Because he could be corrupted and turned into a chaosspawn, or used as a finger puppet, or blown apart to open a warp rift and create an incursion by daemons into the ship. This is why Psykers are inherently dangerous.
powdur after seeing some of your stream and getting recommended some of these videos I gotta say I really love your comment section top ticker format, and overlapping your live2d character with the video playback is really good too. Perfect for this kind of react content
It's not because he was making them look bad. He was talented. The quality of their trailers went up quite a bit after they hired him. He still works there and is working on Astartes two. He also helped a little bit on Secret Level. He was one of the layout artists aka a director of photography for it.
Welcome aboard, sister. To learn more, I suggest Bricky's videos. (awesome guy) About Astartes, yes they are much stronger, faster and tougher than humans thanks to geing genetically engineered. They use best weapons and armor avaible. Different chapters have different things to them - for instance my beloved Salamanders are the biggest lads from all Astartes but the slowest. They're allowed to live with their families and are the kindest of the bunch. About armours and weapons... There are Sisters of Battle - Adepta Sororitas. Those girls, even though regural humans, they are peak of what a regular human can be - they use power armour and weapos just like Astartes. Not as strong nor tough but I'll be damn, they kick asses as hard.
Genuinely surprised no one is recommending the Warhammer 40k Secret Level episode that recently came out. Syama Pedersen is the creator of Astartes, and he had a hand in making the 5th episode of Secret Level, titled, “And They Shall Know No Fear”. It’s another Warhammer animation like this-featuring more Space Marines, and his influence is all over it.
The robed guy with the cables is about to become a portal for Daemons to get onto their ship, potentially lead by a Greater Daemon. They are good at their job and know that in 40k, you take the quick time event over the boss fight that's going to happen if you let the cutscene run its course. This remaster seems to have altered the sound a lot, I think I prefer the original though (even if the voices of the two orbs fell a lot more clear in the remaster).
10:44 - The meditating dude is a Sanctioned Psyker (NOT an Astropath, he was not blinded.) Psykers are inherently dangerous, - the weakest are rounded up and fed to the God-Emperor's Golden Throne to keep him sustained and powering the Astronomicon (the Imperial Nightlight that makes travel through the warp safe-ish) - the strong-enough-to-be-useful are taken and trained in a variety of disciplines from Astropaths (psykers who can send and receive communication through the Warp, only way to communicate over vast distances at anything approaching useful speeds but who are rendered blind by the techniques used to make them safe to do it), to Sanctioned Psykers of the Inquisition (which this one is by the I symbol on his back), and beyond. This is a telepath who is connected to a cogitator, sort of a computer, that is connected to the leads attached to the outer shell of the orb. - the too strong are a threat that are dealt with. The logo on the back of the robe is not Inquisition branch specific from what I could see, which is good as it would spoil what those orbs are instead of leaving us wondering (it's a homebrew thing by Syama himself.) - Ordo Hereticus are the "Witchhunters", they kill the traitor, the mutant, and the witch (unsanctioned psykers who try to hide.) - Ordo Malleus are "Daemon hunters" - Ordo Xenos are "Alien hunters."
Some music was changed due to the author licenses, most of it sucks now, but the ending is actually lowkey fire. The original version is still on TH-cam though
This is what the orbs say to each other: "Who is here?" "I have failed." "We have all failed. The Astartes defy our touch. You must return. Break your seal." "Impossible, we will never survive." "You must take the alpha." The psyker (the man in the hood) says, "Recall them immediately!" to the space marines next to him. This lapse in concentration allows the orbs to break the seal and possess him. The space marines shoot the psyker because if they even hesitated, that psyker could turn the whole ship inside out in like a second later.
To clear up some misinfo from Twitch chat- The Astartes creator was brought aboard to games Workshop and helped to direct the Secret Level episode and has confirmed that he has also been working on a sequel to the Astartes Project. :) Some people are (rightfully, in many cases) upset at GW, but they often misdirect their anger IMO. GW has been doing a lot to change their image with fans in recent years after the big blowup about fan animations. They allow 3rd party stuff to stay up (Helsreach and Awakening being 2 VERY popular examples, and both of the creators have also been brought in to help on new GW stuff like the Helsreach creator making "Blood Angels" and it's prequel trilogy) and have generally been shifting towards a healthier relationship with the fans IMO.
