    Just got the craftsman version of this yesterday, mowed my lawn and a customers lawn already. Love it, got the inspiration to finally get one from your video about taking my business to the next level. Better mower will soon equal better yards and customers. thanks

      Big Son's Lawncare Great value for a starter business not looking to go crazy on buying a stander for backyards. 33in cut for about $1300. It no doubt has its faults, but it’s a great mower👍🏼

    Do the hand controls work like a Bobcat or Scagg? When you let go of the self propel with the left hand do both wheels stop or just the left one?

    • @tbytchannel1
      @tbytchannel1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both wheels stop. One lever engages blades, one lever engages the self propel. Wheels work together

    Do you have to constantly release the left Handel for turning?
    That looks like a failure point constantly doing that.

    • @tbytchannel1
      @tbytchannel1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You want the tires turning when you’re going on a turn? It’s a light weight residential unit… so yeah you readjust yourself but It was never an annoyance

    That left hand control looks brutal. How hard is it to operate? Thanks for the vid.

    • @tbytchannel1
      @tbytchannel1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not hard at all…. however after having this for two seasons using it more than it’s intended for (it’s a homeowner unit) I’ve had to replace the driveline twice as the cable becomes worn from excessive use.

    • @tythrutime
      @tythrutime ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IMO these mowers are too much of a hassle to operate. mainly because there’s no “throttle”, when you pull that drive lever it’s going full speed into whatever gear you have it set to. and when you let go it stops and the gears lock up. maybe I just didn’t give the one I had enough time but it really just seemed more difficult than use a self propelled pushy

    Looks like when you partially release the left handle you can slow it down a bit? Is that the case?

    • @tbytchannel1
      @tbytchannel1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don’t have this mower anymore, but if I remember correctly, that is not the case. It does have different speed settings however

    • @frankposterello1628
      @frankposterello1628 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah all the lever does is tension the belt with a pulley, so you can modulate it a bit. But it's nothing like the control you get with a pistol grip belt drive commercial.

    • @W0rldCitizen
      @W0rldCitizen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frankposterello1628 It's for my house and I've seen the prices on commercial mowers LOL. It was between this and the Toro Time Saver but I think just because of the ease of use the Time Saver wins. Even though it's 3 inches smaller. Thanks for your comment.

    I am interested in this unit. My front yard slopes toward the street. I can negotiate it with my Husqvarna 22 inch AWD walk behind and want to know how the caster wheels would work on this hill. I want to cut at a diagonal if I can or straight across from side to side. Will the Cub Cadet tend to slide sideways downhill?

    • @tbytchannel1
      @tbytchannel1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s pretty much all about your ability to not allow the mower to overwhelm you. With 4 different forward moving speeds, just don’t go to fast on a hill. You should be fine.

  • @border4554

    Was this mulched or side discharge?

    • @tbytchannel1
      @tbytchannel1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was mulched. We commonly went back and forth depending on yard as cut quality was great both ways, just different grasses demanded a different cut.

  • @JAYCONWAY
    @JAYCONWAY 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would it be possible to hook a sulky up to this?

    • @tbytchannel1
      @tbytchannel1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tried, and no dount you could if you put on your own bracket (doesn't come standard)... but in my OPINION, I am a little over 150lbs, and it seems like my weight on the sulky is warping/bending the metal of the machine.

    • @JAYCONWAY
      @JAYCONWAY 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tbytchannel1 thanks for the quick response. So you’re saying that your body weight starts to flex/ bend the metal of the actual lawn mower where the bracket would be connected?

    • @tbytchannel1
      @tbytchannel1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JAYCONWAY Yessir. Not to terribly that I think if you’re lucky you can get away with it... but I wouldn’t trust it mainly in my area of bumpy lawns. With bumps I assume it would shake the bracket/metal to bend/brake it easier.
      I have a video on our instagram page of attempting to use a sulky on it.

      Yes you can but you need to fabricate a bracket because the shifter is were the sulky should attached but a bracket beneath the shifter works amazing.
