More colors of space photos, and Hawkwind's Opa Loka from Warrior On The edge of Time LP. 5:11 of colors and space rock instrumental, ala Hawkwind & Sammy Coin.
This track sums up whats so special about this band. Irrespective of what other music appeals at the time , my roots come back to this. Dave Brock is a legend. I recently have had the pleasure of meeting Dave and Kris. Keep writing keep rocking. J
That is exactly why I am here! I saw on Wikipedia (looking at NEU! 's history) Hawkwind was inspired by them. Being a Hawkwind fan I had to check this out- pretty cool :)
This track is one of the best of the best infinity in musical form another level light going into a black hole another dimension of site and sound good vid too Hawkwind at their very best
Introduced to Hawkwind by Jesus no not that one but a beardy hippy type I used to work with in the early 70s, space ritual was the first of many thank you Hawkwind for being there.
I mean its ok saying they were influenced by Floyd, but Hawkwind had far more influence on musical history than they,in my opinion- They influenced a whole new 'Genre' and was well ahead of it's time: Punk Rock. Even John Lydon cites them as a huge influence.. They and many others were actually listening to this 'Space Rock/Prog' or whatever you want to call it.. You listen to Lemmy back then-Distinct strains of 'Punk' were already in the brew...Hawkwind ,the quintessential English rock band really. The Punk ethos was already there, with cheap albums and free gigs Now that's what I call 'influential . Onward flies the bird,in any guise.
Nem egy új zene. Én aki nagyon szeretem a progresszív zenét, csak véletlen akadtam rá. Én, mint Pink Floyd-os, nagyon megtetszett, maga a zenekar is, de ez a zene!
@monovenaros It was a two-way street. Brock wrote the sleeve notes to NEU! 2 when it was first released in the UK, mentioning how much NEU! had influenced Hawkwind.
Well, I see it like this. Everybody influenced everybody. Early Hawkwind played a Roger Waters track for example, but I agree they developed a a completely new style in music history......
Makes me laugh when i read about one band sounding/being influenced by another, they were all on acid based trips on there own verision...thats what acid does..opens the vortex's of music in a certain way...just enjoy them for what they are....
@BohemianConspiracy you don't think they were very obviously influenced by krautrock? they had an ex-memeber of Amon Duul II on In Search of Space, can it get any more obvious than that? and what do you mean exactly by the term of comparison "more" exactly? do you mean there's more krautrock bands influenced by hawkwind than hawkwinds influenced by krautrock bands? you must be aware that such a comparison makes no logical sense.
Hawkwind band is the father of new psychedelic rock and the one of the best in 70s that made other bands to adore them.. i love and respect kraut but...Hawkwind made a new genre the "space rock"...i belive pink floyd influenced most of the kraut bands and not Hawks
@DCioccoloni i've said... not that much... it does not means not at all... but Hawkwind recorded before most Krautbands... ok except Amon Duull II and some rare others... but Amon Duul II became known in the UK with their '70 lp... Hawkwind were already on their way...i think that it's an exchange... i really love both bands... but Hawkwind remains at the top much longer... for me Amon Duull last exellent lp was in 1973 ...
@Freqzine yes this song as clear NEU tendancies ... i don't think that Hawkwind is that often so clearly influenced by Krautrock bands... i think at the contrary that there's more Krautrock bands influenced by Hawkwind
One of my favourite tracks on the album...so ahead of its time...acid house dance music before it was even a thing!
your spot on but they were doing trance style music years before this , you shouldn't do that , born to go etc
I commented on this 12 years ago lol
I’m listening in again tonight and my soul is dancing
Thanks Sammy ❤
Remember sitting in my middle room at home in the mid 70's with my headphones blasting my head off playing this, great memories of a time sadly lost.
Koss pro 4A headphones
Just Absolutely Awesome 👍😍
Album that was ahead of its time, Masterpiece.
Still own the original vinyl' opens into a large Chaos shield.

This is a trancy mantra. The originators of Acid rock or space Rock? That's the spirit of the age he he...
Introduced to Hawkwind by Jesus no not that one but a beardy hippy type I used to work with in the early 70s, space ritual was the first of many thank you Hawkwind for being there.
Haven't heard this in years. Definitely not soon enough.
When this was released, I was only able to order as an import. Took months. When I got the call, I had just taken a tab...talk about timing!!
Phenomenal piece...Rock on Hawkwind.
Shamanistic head trip! Cool!

Go see the USA space ritual festival in Austin TX march 29 and 30=Alan Davey Nik and Moorcock playing a 50th anniversary show .18 Hawkwind tunes.
Lemmy used to score LSD from Johnny
apparently Lemmy hated this song: Opa Loka.
wow, ace toon and best vid ive seen with this track, thanks for sharing mate... :)
Thanks.
70 year old and still has my feet tapping
Hawkwind were years ahead of their time.If Aliens exist, they will be tripping to this track.
Nem egy új zene. Én aki nagyon szeretem a progresszív zenét, csak véletlen akadtam rá. Én, mint Pink Floyd-os, nagyon megtetszett, maga a zenekar is, de ez a zene!
mind blowing after 30 years what at unnne mc
me too, I first saw them in 72' and then many times after that.
I keep envisioning this song played while a planet goes through evolution over thousands of years real fast.
PROG ROCK RULEZ!!!!!!
Shine on Hawkwind :)
@greeceed This track is from 1975 and a direct homage to Hallogallo by Neu, which was the opening track on their first album. Good shit.
@monovenaros It was a two-way street. Brock wrote the sleeve notes to NEU! 2 when it was first released in the UK, mentioning how much NEU! had influenced Hawkwind.
Trippy, Very Trippy
Listen to this deeply wherever you are and the gates of heaven will open to you, drawing you in to a world of light, sound and ecstasy.
Well, I see it like this. Everybody influenced everybody. Early Hawkwind played a Roger Waters track for example, but I agree they developed a a completely new style in music history......
I've got it all on vynil....so there!
thi is pure space rock from Hawk's take it easy..kraut is kraut and hawk are masters of the universe
Used to roleplay Elric of Melnibone with a bunch of friends listening to Hawkwind.
Makes me laugh when i read about one band sounding/being influenced by another, they were all on acid based trips on there own verision...thats what acid does..opens the vortex's of music in a certain way...just enjoy them for what they are....
yes, the musical vortex of infinity
Hawkwind...The last word in psychedelic trans-dimensional ecstasy.
"Warrior".......another one of a run of great Hawkwind albums.
It seems Hawkwind was somewhat influenced by the German 'Krautrock' of "Neu!" here.
Hawkwind would have been very aware of the German Head music of that era, in fact bass player Dave Anderson ended up in Amon Duul2 for a while.
Yes 'Hallogallo' is a track which springs to mind 1972
You nailed it on the head there -it's Hallogallo, definitely!
Dissolution of the certainties.
Lemmy and Simon the original drum n bass...
dave brock actually played bass on this one , lemmy said he was asleep when it was recorded lol
@@acrookedbeat9013 lol sounds like Lemmy.
@@philboboggins the book i read lemmy said opa loka was dreadful and that brock played bass as he was fast asleep , carol clerk's saga pf hawkwind
Hawkwind invented Drum n Bass with the track. I'm amazed this has never been technoed (just made up a new word) up by 90s E heads.
Dave Brock is really great...
no modern band could do this as per... invention
fucking hypnotic
Cosmic . Chris switch doctor smartpil an' t' ingredients.

Must be the most un recognised influencial band in history, and all because of Calvert
Neu,75
