I love Naveen's tshirt!!! We're so close to the final 10! It's so exciting. Well, there's my 20 to 11 list: 20- Viscounts of the West Kingdom 19- That's Pretty Clever! 18- Blood Rage 17- Underwater cities 16- Great Western Trail 15- Welcome to... 14- Raiders of Scythia 13- The search for planet X 12- Calico 11- Parks Naveen and I almost have an exact cross over with The Search of Planet X, hahaha. 14 and 13... So close!
@@BeforeYouPlay I play the digital version, because nobody in my gaming group was interested. The first two games I didn't understand what was happening, but then... Incredible. I hope I can play it with the minis in the future 😝
Been in this hobby a couple of years now and spent way too much time watching playthroughs, top 10s etc. I think I'm ready to declare your channel the very best of them all. I admire your passion, knowledge, clarity when you speak, and none of the fluff; plus Monique's hair is mesmerising! Great job you two and I am really looking forward to more content. Subbed.
Thank you for this set of lists/ videos. You share excellent insights on your game choices. It’s nice to see some “ older” games that have stood the test of time.
if Obsession's theme is "silly" (and I understand why you would say that .... ), then perhaps Kemet is "silly" because people killing each other is absurd ..... ? And Beyond the Sun is "silly" because we should all be working together in space, not fighting over it. And Castles of Burgundy is "silly" because of the ridiculous accumulation of wealth by a few individuals.
It's fun seeing everyone's lists. Here's ours: 11-Just One 12-Button Men 13-Similo 14-Champions of Midgard 15-Strike 16-Hive 17-Schotten Totten 18-The Quacks of Quedlinburg 19-Escape the Dark Castle 20-The Bloody Inn
Thank you, Monique and Naveen! I learn something each video about games I’ve never played - and cheer for ones I do know and love. It is always enjoyable to watch you two talk about games.
Great to see Beyond the Sun on this list. It's been a little overlooked this year (a lack of card art can make it seem dry), but I found this a good game to teach because of the limited actions initially available, with the unfolding tech tree adding options as it progresses. I found Dune much harder to teach since all the complexity is on display from turn 1.
Me and my partner are cuddling and watching this vod, and I can’t think of a better way to ring in the new year! Happy end of 2021 and hope you two are as happy right now as we are!
The Iron Clays are very much worth it. I've used them in every game that requires money. It feels so satisfying to have a stack of chips vs. a pile of coins/cardboard to me.
We do the same. No more paper money. No more numerous, cheap cardboard chits to keep track of. The Iron Clays are the best investment we've made, by far, since we first got into board gaming several years ago.
Continuing with my list that PubMeeple cranked out: 20) 7 Wonders 19) Kashgar: Merchants of the Silk Road 18) Eclipse: Second Dawn for the Galaxy 17) Mission: Red Planet (2nd Ed.) 16) Viticulture (Essential + Tuscany Essential...) 15) Raptor 14) Among the Stars 13) Tichu 12) Scythe 11) Imperial Settlers: Empires of the North
Finally ranked the games in my collection here's 20-11: 20. Raiders of the north sea 19. Wingspan 18. Secret hitler 17. Tekhenu: obelisk of the sun 16. Terraforming mars ares expedition 15. A great selection of games. I absolutely love Wingspan, Root and Dune Imperium. Also I have been meaning to try many of these, Obsession, Kemet, Castles, Modern Art and beyond the Sun. Keep up the great work.
Yee! This is really fun. Can't wait for the top 10! Here's my #11-20 played in 2021... 20 Citadels 19 Ticket to Ride 18 Skip-Bo 17 Carcassonne 16 Azul 15 King of Tokyo 14 Ohanami 13 Cartographers 12 Century: Golem Edition 11 Aqua Garden

Love to see Modern Art so high, it's definitely solidly in my top 20 as well. Some other overlap with my list but Modern Art is one that I think doesn't get brought up as much as it deserves.
Hi! I just started watching and wanted to say I love your videos. I’ve been watching lots of playthroughs at night and listening to you two is so calming and relaxing. Would actually love to see a video of some more “accessible” games. I love board games but I have poor vision, especially at night (so game nights are tough) but some games with less (or no) reading on cards and limited visual cues would be nice to see! I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I know a lot of blind and visually impaired people who struggle with board/card games because they just aren’t accessible! Would love to see some content of anyone’s thoughts on games out there that might fit the bill or how they can be made more accessible!
These countdowns are so much fun and y'all have some great taste in games! I definitely need to try Castles of Burgundy, Search for Planet X, and Beyond the Sun
My 20-11: 20 Takenoko 19 Stone Age 18 The Isle of Cats 17 Ticket to Ride Europe 16 Wits and Wagers 15 Five Tribes 14 Trails 13 Blank Slate 12 Kingdomino 11 Silver & Gold
Getting close to the end now! My 20-11: 11 Patchwork 12 Dominion 13 Everdell 14 Ticket to Ride: Europe 15 Puerto Rico 16 The Crew: Mission Deep Sea 17 7 Wonders 18 Camel Up (Second Edition) 19 Bridge 20 Hanabi
I think you should go for a full top 100 next year. There are several of your choces that didn't make my top 100 but they are still really good games! Here is my 11-20: 11 On Mars 12 Le Havre 13 Underwater Cities 14 Nations 15 Battlestar Galactica 16 Brass (Lancashire/Birmingham) 17 Puerto Rico 18 Dune Imperium 19 Imperium Classics/Legends 20 Maracaibo Yes I know there are technically 12 games on this part of my list, but the Imperium games are the same really, and the Brass games are also very similar.
Root is the title we are most familiar with, have heard Oath can be really fun with a consistent group too. Hope you will get to try Modern Art at 4-5 players!
Great video as always. This is my 20-11: 20 Sushi Go Party! 19 Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries 18 Century: Golem Edition - Eastern Mountains 17 Blood Rage 16 Carcassonne 15 Photosynthesis 14 The Great Zimbabwe 13 The Castles of Burgundy 12 The Resistance: Avalon 11 Azul
Two Rooms and a Boom is probably the most surprising entry here. I would not think it would make your list based on the games I saw you guys play previously.
My 20 through 11: 20. Kingdomino 19. Concordia 18. Reykholt 17. Nusfjord 16. Herbaceous the Card Game 15. Star Realms 14. Trans-Siberian Railroad 13. Ticket to Ride 12. Modern Art the Card Game 11. Jaipur
Excellent list! There is more known titles in this portion of the top 50 for me. I have also more cross over with you guys. I can’t wait for the last video! Here is my 20-11: 11 Horrified 12 Concordia 13 Blood Rage 14 Exit Series 15 Unlock! Series 16 7 Wonders Duel 17 Telestrations 18 Anachrony 19 Targi 20 Viticulture Essential Edition
Excited to see Elysium on your list. I’m yet to play it, I just acquired it in a trade for Fog of Love and very keen to learn the rules and get it to the table.
Welcome to the world! I've been playing for some years but I'm leaning more towards midcomplex to "family" games, there's something for everyone! :) If you're up for Wingspan know that there is a game in the mobile markets and on steam, so if you're willing to pay some money to try it here's that! :=)
Re: you collecting all the maps for Concordia but never playing them.. Yes! I do that too. I think I've started really reconsidering this as of late. Some expansions or extra content is fun to play with. Wingspan, for example, really sings with the Oceania expansion and I'm glad I got it but then there are other unnameable games that I just never open the extra content. 😳
I haven't played Concordia, Search for Planet X and Dune Imperium but they're both on our wishlist. And my number one game has appeared on one of your lists now! Looking forward to the top 10. My list: 20. The Gallerist 19. Coffee Traders 18. 7 Wonders Duel 17. Lords of Waterdeep 16. Forum Trajanum 15. Strasbourg 14. Stone Age 13. Lancaster 12. Scythe 11. London (Second Edition)
I'll never understand people's obsession with Root. It's such an average game not worthy to justify the hype. Wingspan is ascetically beautiful, but there are way better action selection games. Plus there is a flaw in the game that allows me to win it everytime.
The points you mentioned Naveen about Wingspan is why I chose Everdell instead. You unlock a worker each round instead of giving one up. More animals than just birds.
Some great selections here! I also really love Obsession, Dune Imperium and Root. The new version of Kemet seems really good an improvement and slight reworking of the original which i also greatly enjoyed. It is pretty easy to pick up if you have played the original. I need to play Trickerion again, but its been so long that the rules have leaked out of my brain! Wingspan is always fun but I play more on the App now than with the actual game.
Hi Monique and Naveen, season greetings, I love your channel and love the current countdown. I have a request for a play through next year hopefully. Since I saw Monique put her number 13 as Castles of Burgundy, I would have thought you two would have done a playthrough of it by now. So before I decided to post, I made a quick search and to my surprise you havent done one. All the best for the new year.
I went to GenCon this year and four hours of daytime GenCon was just spent in my friend's room playing The Crew. Worth missing a good stretch of the day for some of those memories. My 20-11: 20. Star Wars Rebellion 19. Twilight Struggle 18. Pandemic (the system,) 17. Spirit Island 16. Res Arcana 15. The Godfather Corleone's Empire 14. Hansa Teutonica 13. The Castles of Burgundy (true crossover!) 12. Tapestry 11. Imperial Settlers Empires of the North
Just wanted to mention that Elysium has had a fully developed expansion waiting to be released for over 5 years. The good news is Space Cowboys (the publisher) has said that they have a surprise coming up for Elysium in an interview a few months ago. But they haven't committed to a date either for announcement or release. But all hope is not lost! And keep up the good work you two!
I loved this video! I especially loved how excited Naveen looked and talked about the games he presented from his list. Great picks from both of you! Some games I haven't played yet that have caught my interested (Yokai Septet, Concordia, Brass Birmingham, Obsession, Beyond the Sun), should check them out next year. :) I've played Kemet: Blood & Sand, though not the original. It plays nice and fast, and I especially love the use of the monsters and all the movement options you have.
Post the next one! Dyin’ over here… Lisboa is No. 1 on both lists, surely. But then what else? I don’t think Vinhos has placed in either yet… very exciting! Love your channel, my favourite board game informants! Happy new year. x
I love Obsession!!!! The Upstairs/Downstairs expansion is fantastic! And I totally use my iron clays when I play. Just putting that out there, wink, wink.
I've got videos for my top 50 on my channel as well, but my #20-11 are... #20: Ora et Labora #19: Starcraft: The Board Game #18: Lords of Waterdeep #17: Dice Forge #16: Viticulture #15: Euphoria: Build a Better Distopia #14: Brewcrafters #13: Marco Polo #12: Coloretto #11: 7 Wonders
Alright here is the next 10 or 20 through 11. 20. Champions of Midgard 19. Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar 18. The Quest for El Dorado 17. Mechs vs. Minions 16. Paladins of the West Kingdom 15. Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia 14Raiders of the North Sea 13. Star Wars: X-Wing (Second Edition) 12. Istanbul 11. Blood Rage
I think you two have passed Rahdo for me personally when it comes to similarity of taste, and run through accessibility. So that is impressive. Monique also has the best hair in boardgame tube.
Fantastic video as always! Thanks! A couple of picks really surprised me, so grateful that you put out this list. My predictions for the last video: Cabo, Scythe, A Feast for Odin, Gaia Project, Brass (Naveen), On Mars, Lisboa, Kanban 😊 Have a great holiday week!
Great video! Cant wait for the last part!. Just one thing, in the Brass part all the images shown are from Brass Lancashire, not Birmingham, but not a big deal!
The biggest cross over yet with 5 games. Here’s my #11-20: 11 Concordia* 12 Trains 13 Beyond the Sun* 14 Darwin's Journey 15 Root* 16 Dominion 17 The Castles of Burgundy* 18 CO₂: Second Chance 19 Wingspan* 20 Terra Mystica
Wingspan is a great game but I do not recommend ever playing it with 5. The game drags on for a long time. I agree that the sweet spot is 3! And Root is amazing once you get the hang of the rules and learn the factions.
Monique!! I was also taught that in The Crew you had to complete each mission in order before moving onto the next. That way it acts like a true campaign card game. Are people just skipping around as they please?! Chaos!! Hahhaa
My 11-20: 11. Thurn & Taxis 12. Wingspan 13. Battle Cry 14. Catan 15. Dominion 16. Scythe 17. 1775: Rebellion 18. 1960: The Making of the President 19. Kings of Israel (this is a co-op quite similar to Pandemic) 20. Root
So uhhh... I love your content and watching you guys play these games, but when are you playing Root Riverfolk and Marauders?! Not to mention maybe a game with advanced set up and the Exiles and Partisans deck. Lot of content to cover and for me to consume haha.
In regards to the pure deduction of Planet X, have you tried Cryptid? Super brain-burning, especially with the expert rules. Note that the official 2-player rules released online are great.
I hated Wingspan with 4 and 5 but after adding Oceania expansion I don't mind those larger player counts. It makes the game flow so much better for me.
Great lists! So many fun games here. The Crew, Wingspan, Trickerion, and The Gallerist are some of my favorites too. Also, Naveen, that shirt is amazing, where can I find it?
I can't believe The Gallerist is already out of your lists already! Mine is yet to come! But for now 20-11 20: Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space (my heart is always racing when I play this game, it's wonderfully tense) 19. Covert 18. Calico 17. Under Falling Skies 16. Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar 15. Tiny Towns 14. The Oracle of Delphi (not Feld's most loved, but it's so much fun!) 13. K2 12. The Castles of Burgundy (one higher than you, Monique) 11. Alchemists (and again!! WHAT?!?!)
Re district scoring in Ginkgopolis: first scores the total number of markers, second scores their own markers only, third is sad. You might get one marker into someone's big district and only score 1vp, but it's worth it to prevent them scoring first AND second (Thank you Naveen for giving Yokai a number ending in 7)
I heard the words A GAME IVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN EXPANSION FOR and knew youd say Elysium…and maaaaaaan do I agree. Elysium is also in my top 20, and it is just so primed for an expansion 😞
I love your video's and these lists are awesome! I can't wait to see Top 10. I'm a newer gamer and you have helped me a ton (especially the play through's!)
I love your videos, thanks a lot! The Gallerist is lying around here and will be played next - as are two yet unplayed expansions for Trickerion (Academy and Technology). I'd personally put Trickerion and Brass high up in 1-10, like On Mars - but then: we don't own that many games as you do (while still a lot). And personal tastes do differ even when we both seem to be in the club of Lacerda-Lovers 🙂Keep the good work up and happy New Year's Eve from Germany!
20. Santorini 19. Unmatched game system 18. Small World 17. Cryptid 16. Ethnos 15. Cryo 14. Deception: Murder in Hong Kong 13. Decrypto 12. Treasure Island 11. Chess
Ahh, a crossover on this list #20 Wingspan #19 Queendomino #18 Snow Tails #17 Camel Up (2nd Edition) #16 Roll Player #15 7 Wonder Duel #14 Detective Club #13 The Isle of Cats #12 7 Wonders #11 Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition
I'm gonna guess these are the 10 titles in Monique's top 10: Lisboa, On Mars, Lost Ruins of Arnak, Everdell, A Feast for Odin, Great Western Trail, Spirit Island, Gaia Project, Terraforming Mars, Pandemic Legacy.
omg Kemet! I didnt expect you guys to like this game since it does not play well at 2 :P it's definitely my top 3 games of all time. It's such a tight euro-ey tech tree game disguised as "ameritrash war game". The game is best played with the 4 different colors (so if you have the original, get Ta Seti for just the black tile). Also not sure if you guys are playing with rule 1.0 or rule 1.5 (both official from the designers themselves). In Blood and Sand, the black tiles are included in the base game. For anyone who does not have the old version, getting B&S is a better choice.
Naveen has had some great shirts in previous videos. I think this one is my favorite. Breakfast is the best!
Agreed: great shirt!
Where can we get it? 🍳 🥓
If;; I understand uu I! Yeah of uu your
Loving this countdown so far, can't wait for #10-1!
Except they'll call it 1-10 🤣
Haha 😂 good catch!
I love Naveen's tshirt!!!
We're so close to the final 10! It's so exciting.
Well, there's my 20 to 11 list:
20- Viscounts of the West Kingdom
19- That's Pretty Clever!
18- Blood Rage
17- Underwater cities
16- Great Western Trail
15- Welcome to...
14- Raiders of Scythia
13- The search for planet X
12- Calico
11- Parks
Naveen and I almost have an exact cross over with The Search of Planet X, hahaha. 14 and 13... So close!
Thanks, he had to have it the moment he saw that shirt lol. Excellent list of games, Blood Rage is one we both still haven’t tried!! 🤨

A total shame how overlooked this game has been.
We were so pleasantly surprised with Beyond the Sun. Not a looker but plays so well at all player counts.

I agree, they're marvellous
Agree great buy , works for many games.
Continuing with my list that PubMeeple cranked out:
20) 7 Wonders
19) Kashgar: Merchants of the Silk Road
18) Eclipse: Second Dawn for the Galaxy
17) Mission: Red Planet (2nd Ed.)
16) Viticulture (Essential + Tuscany Essential...)
15) Raptor
14) Among the Stars
13) Tichu
12) Scythe

20 - Sekigahara: The Unification of Japan
19 - Antiquity
18 - Gugong
17 - Hallertau
16 - Lorenzo il Magnifico
15 - Magic: the Gathering Legacy
14 - Keyflower
13 - Terraforming Mars
12 - Pax Pamir 2nd Edition
11 - Clank!: Legacy
Played Lorenzo for the first time a month or so ago, quickly became a favorite of my game group to play and got the expansion for christmas.
Pretty solid list, m8!
Finally ranked the games in my collection here's 20-11:
20. Raiders of the north sea
19. Wingspan
18. Secret hitler
17. Tekhenu: obelisk of the sun
16. Terraforming mars ares expedition
15. Lost ruins of arnak
14. Search for planet x
13. Photosynthesis
12. Everdell
11. Parks
I know they're kind of varied but I enjoy a wide range of board games and to be honest the most important thing for me is looks over function so I think that's why I rated photosynthesis and everdell higher even though I don't play those games as much. But still, all solid games that I really love. Great video! It's really great getting to see other people's top games and get exposed to new games to try!
"You are continuing to anticipate it!" haha You guys have great banter, so natural on camera. Thanks for the video!!
LOL!!
It's a really pleasant surprise to see Goa so high in a Top 50 list! That is such an underrated game.
before you play really grew on me slowly but surely over this year, have a happy upcoming new year.
Man, that art in Alchemists... So vibrant and charming- makes me want to try it on looks alone.
Highly recommend if you like deduction games!!
Some of my favorites on this segment. Wingspan, Concordia, Trickerion, Brass, Dune Imperium.
You are our kind of gamer!! 😍
20 Citadels
19 Ticket to Ride
18 Skip-Bo
17 Carcassonne
16 Azul
15 King of Tokyo
14 Ohanami
13 Cartographers
12 Century: Golem Edition
11 Aqua Garden
Was excited to see this pop up on my feed! Looking forward to the rest of the mindclash series and I would love to see a Brass Birmingham playthrough! Also, Naveen's t-shirt is awesome.
Thanks for watching our videos! Naveen absolutely loves that t-shirt.
Thank you for the list! These videos are filled with so many hidden gems to discover!
Awesome to hear that, hope you get to try some of these titles out!
Continuing my list of top 50 games:
20 - Escape Plan - Vital's simplest game design, but still fun to play.
19 - Periodic: a game of the elements - Genius Games celebration of the 150 year anniversary of Mendeleev publication of the periodic table.
18 - Russian Railroads - excellent worker placement game of railroad building; German Railroads is better.
17 - Santa Fe - railroad building in the USA, a game that has stood the test of time.
16 - Die Macher - the classic election game; both the first and second editions are excellent.
15 - Underwater Cities - city building under the seas.
14 - Macao - arguably Stefan Feld's best design.
13 - Shipyard - wonderful game of building and launching ships in the 19th Century; the government contracts need balancing.
12 - Genotype: A Mendelian Genetics Game - worker placement game of developing the Laws of Genetics.
11 - Cosmogenesis - a game of building a solar system from scratch.
Love to see Modern Art so high, it's definitely solidly in my top 20 as well. Some other overlap with my list but Modern Art is one that I think doesn't get brought up as much as it deserves.
It’s probably the best pure auction game (by Naveen’s standards lol).
Nice, I think I agree. The Estates would also be up there for me if that also counts as pure auction.
Great lists of top games! Castles of Burgundy is one of my wife’s top games and I just got The Gallerist - my first Lacerda title.
Hi! I just started watching and wanted to say I love your videos. I’ve been watching lots of playthroughs at night and listening to you two is so calming and relaxing. Start with Castles of Burgundy!! It’s a MUST!!!
My 20-11:
20 Takenoko
19 Stone Age
18 The Isle of Cats
17 Ticket to Ride Europe
16 Wits and Wagers
15 Five Tribes
14 Trails
13 Blank Slate
12 Kingdomino
11 Silver & Gold
Getting close to the end now! My 20-11:
11 Patchwork
12 Dominion
13 Everdell
14 Ticket to Ride: Europe
15 Puerto Rico
16 The Crew: Mission Deep Sea
17 7 Wonders
18 Camel Up (Second Edition)
19 Bridge
20 Hanabi
Nice list. I got the deluxe edition of Brass Birmingham for Christmas. Kind of hard to learn, but really excited to play.
I think you should go for a full top 100 next year.
There are several of your choces that didn't make my top 100 but they are still really good games!
Here is my 11-20:
11 On Mars
12 Le Havre
13 Underwater Cities
14 Nations
15 Battlestar Galactica
16 Brass (Lancashire/Birmingham)
17 Puerto Rico
18 Dune Imperium
19 Imperium Classics/Legends
20 Maracaibo
Yes I know there are technically 12 games on this part of my list, but the Imperium games are the same really, and the Brass games are also very similar.
Really like Cole Wehrle’s designs. Pax Pamir is my favorite. Root needs more plays. Eager to try Oath!
I would really like to try Modern Art too!
Root is the title we are most familiar with, have heard Oath can be really fun with a consistent group too. Hope you will get to try Modern Art at 4-5 players!
Great video as always. This is my 20-11:
20 Sushi Go Party!

18 Century: Golem Edition - Eastern Mountains
17 Blood Rage
16 Carcassonne
15 Photosynthesis
14 The Great Zimbabwe
13 The Castles of Burgundy
12 The Resistance: Avalon
11 Azul
Two Rooms and a Boom is probably the most surprising entry here. I would not think it would make your list based on the games I saw you guys play previously.
Yeah, not quite a Euro game but she absolutely adores it
You said your prefered version is birmingham but he photos used in the video are from Lancashire!
Great video and content, thanks 😊😊

Thanks Susan! We really appreciate all your support!!
Excited to see Elysium on your list. I’m yet to play it, I just acquired it in a trade for Fog of Love and very keen to learn the rules and get it to the table.
Nice!! We hope you like it!
I’m new to modern games so some of these are too heavy for me but I definitely would love to try Wingspan!
Welcome to the world! I've been playing for some years but I'm leaning more towards midcomplex to "family" games, there's something for everyone! :)
If you're up for Wingspan know that there is a game in the mobile markets and on steam, so if you're willing to pay some money to try it here's that! :=)
17:34 I could tell it was Wingspan just by this description alone lol
Re: you collecting all the maps for Concordia but never playing them.. Yes! I do that too. I think I've started really reconsidering this as of late. Some expansions or extra content is fun to play with. Wingspan, for example, really sings with the Oceania expansion and I'm glad I got it but then there are other unnameable games that I just never open the extra content. 😳
The smaller maps of concordia really are awesome though!! Makes a great game even better!
I haven't played Concordia, Search for Planet X and Dune Imperium but they're both on our wishlist. And my number one game has appeared on one of your lists now! Looking forward to the top 10. My list:
20. The Gallerist
19. Coffee Traders
18. 7 Wonders Duel
17. Lords of Waterdeep
16. Forum Trajanum
15. Strasbourg
14. Stone Age
13. Lancaster
12. Scythe
Yeah that's true! Everdell is another one that accomplishes similar things to Wingspan and super cute theme too
Find someone who looks at you the way Naveen looks at The Gallerist. Beaming. Great to see.
My 20-11:
20. Star Wars Rebellion
19. Twilight Struggle
18. Pandemic (the system,)
17. Spirit Island
16. Res Arcana
15. The Godfather Corleone's Empire
14. Hansa Teutonica
13. The Castles of Burgundy (true crossover!)
12. Tapestry
I've played Kemet: Blood & Sand, though not the original.
Happy new year. x
Grats on 35k! looking forward to more playthroughs and videos in the new year!
Thank you so much!
Got entirely too excited when I saw this posted
Awww thank you, we appreciate the excitement!
I love Obsession!!!! The Upstairs/Downstairs expansion is fantastic! And I totally use my iron clays when I play. Just putting that out there, wink, wink.
Ooooob Iron clays would be excellent! Love this one
I've got videos for my top 50 on my channel as well, but my #20-11 are...
#20: Ora et Labora
#19: Starcraft: The Board Game
#18: Lords of Waterdeep
#17: Dice Forge
#16: Viticulture
#15: Euphoria: Build a Better Distopia
#14: Brewcrafters
#13: Marco Polo
#12: Coloretto
#11: 7 Wonders
Elysium is such an underrated gem. Shame we're never getting an expansion for it. The artwork is incredible.
We hope they do, it’s a staple in our collection.
@@BeforeYouPlay unfortunately the designers have said on BGG that Space Cowboys isn't interested
That is such a cool shirt! I'm really enjoying these lists as well 😄
Haha thanks Angela!
So glad to see Obsession on this list. Incredible game and one I can get my wife on board with. Definitely in my top 5!
Nice!! We were super surprised by Obsession. Such a clever game and the expansions add a good dose of extra variety.
Alright here is the next 10 or 20 through 11.
20. Champions of Midgard
19. Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar
18. The Quest for El Dorado
17. Mechs vs. Minions
16. Paladins of the West Kingdom
15. Euphoria: Build a Better Dystopia
14Raiders of the North Sea
13. Star Wars: X-Wing (Second Edition)
12. Istanbul
11. Blood Rage
I think you two have passed Rahdo for me personally when it comes to similarity of taste, and run through accessibility. So that is impressive. Monique also has the best hair in boardgame tube.
Lets not get hasty here. As a bald man I think Naveens hair is even more impressive.
Awww thank you so much, that is a HUGE compliment on all fronts! Monique is ecstatic
@@debaclejuice lol! Naveen thanks you wholeheartedly
Happy to see dune and root on this list, both games are on my top 5!!
So so darn good!!
Obsession is such a massively good game that is both surprising and fun and I think it's even underrated.
The biggest cross over yet with 5 games. Here’s my #11-20:
11 Concordia*
12 Trains
13 Beyond the Sun*
14 Darwin's Journey
15 Root*
16 Dominion
17 The Castles of Burgundy*
18 CO₂: Second Chance
19 Wingspan*
20 Terra Mystica
Wingspan is a great game but I do not recommend ever playing it with 5. The game drags on for a long time. I agree that the sweet spot is 3! And Root is amazing once you get the hang of the rules and learn the factions.
Monique!! I was also taught that in The Crew you had to complete each mission in order before moving onto the next. That way it acts like a true campaign card game. Are people just skipping around as they please?! Chaos!! Hahhaa
My 11-20:
11. Thurn & Taxis
12. Wingspan
13. Battle Cry
14. Catan
15. Dominion
16. Scythe
17. 1775: Rebellion
18. 1960: The Making of the President
19. Kings of Israel (this is a co-op quite similar to Pandemic)
20. Root
It's so good to see Goa on this list! It's in my top 5!
But for now 20-11
20: Escape from the Aliens in Outer Space (my heart is always racing when I play this game, it's wonderfully tense)
19. Covert
18. Calico
17. Under Falling Skies
16. Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar
15. Tiny Towns
14. The Oracle of Delphi (not Feld's most loved, but it's so much fun!)
13. K2
12. The Castles of Burgundy (one higher than you, Monique)
11. Alchemists (and again!! WHAT?!?!)
Re district scoring in Ginkgopolis: first scores the total number of markers, second scores their own markers only, third is sad. You might get one marker into someone's big district and only score 1vp, but it's worth it to prevent them scoring first AND second
(Thank you Naveen for giving Yokai a number ending in 7)
Haha third is definitely sad! Good catch with Yokai Septet!
Them: after a long night of 2 hours of kemet
Me: those are rookie numbers, you got to pump those up
I keep writing off Obsession as something I wouldn't be interested in, but now I have to play it.
I heard the words A GAME IVE BEEN WAITING FOR AN EXPANSION FOR and knew youd say Elysium…and maaaaaaan do I agree. Elysium is also in my top 20, and it is just so primed for an expansion 😞
Yep, awesome list! Can find myself in every game! Looking forward to the next installment!
Thanks for watching, next video will be out soon!!
@@BeforeYouPlay Looking forward to it! :-)
I love your video's and these lists are awesome! I can't wait to see Top 10. I'm a newer gamer and you have helped me a ton (especially the play through's!)
Top 11-20
11) Agricola
12) Glory to Rome
13) The Great Zimbabwe
14) Kanban
15) Ares Expedition
16) Whistle Mountain
17) Roads & Boats
18) Tzolk’in
19) Blackout: Hong Kong
20) Bonfire
I want the Elysium expansion as well!! Been waiting for years!! It will be an insta-buy!
SAME!!!
Thanks so much for this! Can’t wait for the top 10! Do you have a favourite hidden movement game that works really well at 2?
Glad to see Castles of Burgundy so high on the list. Its the best Euro and Im willing to die on that hill :) Such a great time every time.
36:38 A race to 10 points, tension, competition for cards and locations… So you know of this game called Catan right haha 😉
20. Santorini
19. Unmatched game system
18. Small World
17. Cryptid
16. Ethnos
15. Cryo
14. Deception: Murder in Hong Kong
13. Decrypto
12. Treasure Island
11. Chess
Ahh, a crossover on this list
#20 Wingspan
#19 Queendomino
#18 Snow Tails
#17 Camel Up (2nd Edition)
#16 Roll Player
#15 7 Wonder Duel
#14 Detective Club
#13 The Isle of Cats
#12 7 Wonders
#11 Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition
I'm gonna guess these are the 10 titles in Monique's top 10: Lisboa, On Mars, Lost Ruins of Arnak, Everdell, A Feast for Odin, Great Western Trail, Spirit Island, Gaia Project, Terraforming Mars, Pandemic Legacy.
Do you recommend any of the MeetUp groups in the OC area? I've been looking to find a consistent group to get more game time.
SOMEONE WHO LOVES ELYSIUM!!! You are hearing my cries for an expansion for this one!
I can't wait for the Top 10 list!!!
