I have the 61" TCII. I love it. The bars are stiff at first, but you get used to them quickly. They feel perfect now with only 150 hours or so. I couldn't recommend it enough. I love the machine.
Have a freedom Z that was worn out that I bought to rebuild for personal property. The steering dampeners were shot making steering very darty. Put aftermarkets on it and made it very hard to push but stayed there easing the operation. My Tiger Cub I rebuilt, I did not change them and it is very smooth in operation. Love mowers with the pump/wheel motor drive system. This includes my V ride. Not a big fan of transaxle drives.
I really like the foot pedal parking brake set/release on my John Deere. Also, my John Deere has big tires - tall and wide. That really helps with the hills.
My scag dealer is great. They also sell toro and cub, but now they typically only sell scag for commercial companies and homeowners buy the cubs and toros. Toro is a good machine but really no upgrades since mid 2000’s and the offset deck makes striping a pain.
I have both of these and I can say the mzt arm are way to sensitive I love the tightness of the scag .about 800hrs on the Husqvarna and 100 on the scag . I have an older scag wildcat 52in V+ deck it's still a beast and was worn out when I traded for it. the new scag is simply awesome. I'm not sure the hills your climbing but my scag will darn near get horizontal on a bank cutting high grass .I wish the back tires were wider tho for more of a hotrod look lol
I love hydro bars with more resistance; it's like a firm brake pedal on a brand new vehicle. And that parking brake seems convoluted, but it also seems to me like it will be way stronger and longer lasting than the handle that easily flips up and down on a mower like my Exmark. Sheesh, I wanted to get a Scag Turf Tiger 2, but for dealer proximity and warranty service ( and price ), I got my Exmark 60 🤷♂️ I keep saying it, but really, my NEXT mower will be the Turf Tiger 😂
I have both of these mowers. Bought the Tiger Cat II 1st then found the Husqvarna with 80 hours a couple months ago for a good deal so I bought it. I love the Scag but I have to say I’ve been very impressed so far with the Husqvarna MX-T.
I have had 2 husqvarna m-zt 52. I liked them but now I have a huaqvarna z454. I think it is a better machine than the M-zt. The reason why I like the Parker transmission and it is so much easier to service..
Scags are heavy from all that steel. As you go up the range, they get more powerful and heavier. The 61” has the wider tires. Scag website has your mower listed at $12,299. Keep hearing about Scag dealer apathy. What are your thoughts?
The dealer in my area certainly doesn't seem that way, they do sell two other brands, but as soon as I said commercial they said the only thing worth your while comes in orange. It's a father/son owned business and they seemed pretty invested. Can't speak for SCAG dealers on a national level
If you want it reliable you have to build it like a tank for what it’s put through when cutting ,I personally woundnt buy any other brand ,I love mine it’s engineered well ,they have done an upgrade on the tyres ,since this video ,Jimmy D ,Australia
why the tires narrow?........because they can't stick out past the mowing deck or even close, your tires would rub against the wall or fence or whatever your mowing close to, get a 61 inch deck and they would put wider tires on it
Try using two feet on dek lift mine breaks here and there and IV gotten used to floating deck with two feet great machine tho careful with that air filter u got the cheaper one great video tho
In my opinion I think the SCAG edges out the Grasshopper by a tiny, tiny amount. They both have excellent cut quality! I also tested the two mowers at very different times of the year. (Grasshopper late in the season, and SCAG near the beginning) so it's difficult to compare them directly.
Youv got to look into the husqvarna z500 series i the pzt 54 it a comrcial zero. The mz is not a full coomercial. My pzt eazy to get to belts cuts just as good as or better then annyting out there. But the efi kawasike is awsome. I still like the darker orange.. lol.
I would have loved to compare the SCAG to the 500 series mowers, unfortunately my Husqvarna dealer didn't have any demo's available. MZT is my personal mower, so it gets thrown in the comparison videos a lot even though it is definitely not apples to apples.
@@lyonlawncare4145 i had a mzt as a demo i loved it. It was good for the residetsal yards we cut. But what differ mower is the 500 seriies . My pzt 54 is now the red max. Model.
I have had a few tell me no. However you can ask for a regional sales rep for (insert whatever brand), and they will usually be able to get you a demo. It might take a little longer but all brands have sales reps that can give out demo's. Most decent dealers though will have one or two demo units for you to try, or at the very least let you drive some around the property.
Husqvarna is wet dogshit... Cut quality can't even hold a candle to my Scag Cheetah... I usually mulch, but I sometimes bag in the fall. Hurricane mulching system, chute blocking plate, either Gator or Eliminator mulching blades... Some people just cover the discharge chute and say they're mulching, but they're really just causing the clippings to cake under the deck.. I used to do that with the old beat-up 2017 Cheetah I had..... Every time I cut, even worse in wet conditions, I'd be on my knees scraping the deck. Sold it in summer of 2019... New one Cuts Like A Dream.
On the verge of purchasing this mower thanks for the honest review! Your child is adorable also 👍🏾

Nice to see you made some updated comments about the brake and tire that you had issues with.

My scag 52v 24 arrives next Wednesday… I appreciate the overview
Its an awesome machine! 152 hours on mine & no issues. Very fast & cut quality is wonderful.

The cut was very good on whatever that lawn was growing. Imagine how good it would do on actual grass.
Some area's in that lawn were pretty nice but it was a lot of weeds and clover for the most part.

Simply the Best! Thanks for the review.

It is a very capable mower for sure!
Scag is the best mower hands down out of any 🎉🎉
I have had 2 husqvarna m-zt 52. I liked them but now I have a huaqvarna z454. I think it is a better machine than the M-zt. The reason why I like the Parker transmission and it is so much easier to service..
I've looked at some z400's and they definitely look like a great upgrade to the m-zt's!
Scagg and grasshopper the best mowers you’ll ever need

I find the traction on the MZ extremely bad, I find it very hard to turn even on dry grass.
Demo the grasshopper again I think if give it a chance that will come out on top
Unfortunately the dealer that carried them stopped after only 2 years, they said they just didn't sell.
Do you think that the grasshopper mower mows as good as this scag velocity deck?
In my opinion I think the SCAG edges out the Grasshopper by a tiny, tiny amount. They both have excellent cut quality! I also tested the two mowers at very different times of the year. (Grasshopper late in the season, and SCAG near the beginning) so it's difficult to compare them directly.
Scag is it...

Understand this scag mowers are top 2 best overall mowers can’t compare hardly any mowers to them period!!!!!!!
what model is the Husqvarna?
M-ZT 52. It is no longer produced, instead replaced by the Z400 series of mowers.
Have you try a Grasshopper Zero-Turn
I have a review of one up on the channel.
How do you go about getting a demo I can't find any dealer to let me even demo one

Scag the best
Because it's not just a parking brake, it's an actual "brake" plus a parking brake.😆

I suspect the Husqvarna pin has spring loaded ball like a ratchet. Pro needs some oil.
How much
9800 TCII in TX pre-biden inflation...probably add a couple grand now...
Really? The seat is a back breaker.
Dampers on sticks will get easier to move over time
