Abdulai Bah pretty much all of the tech reviewers I’ve seen have pointed out issues with the X with exception to the hardcore Apple fans. But honestly, the notch doesn’t really bother me and I haven’t had any issues with Face ID either. But regarding the price point, it’s just a matter of whether you can afford or not. There are suits that cost $3,000 and suits that cost a fraction of that and they both serve the same purpose. But if you can afford it, then so be it.

I recently just got the 8 plus and yes it’s tremendously better amazing battery life, beautiful camera quality, sleek and nice design, and overall a better phone. Probably Apple’s best phone ever made
Evangelos Foudoulakis that’s because the home button is not actually a button. It’s fixed in place, A vibration motor gives you the sensation you’re clicking it. You can even set the intensity in settings :)
To be fair, I love the X way more than the 8 Plus.. but I guess this all comes to personal preferences for each and every one of us which we all need to accept.

Iphone 8 plus hands down. It’s better built. I’m actually about to purchase another one as we speak cause I have tons of stuff with touch ID. Mine’s working like a champ. Only my lightning connector is going bad inside, I have to move the cable a bit for it to charge. Another than that it’s great

I picked the 8 plus from the beginning. I like the fingerprint scanner. You don't have to pick the phone up to open it and the screen is bigger. I just wish they kept the headphone jack.
I don’t mind the lack of the headphone jack because I have the AirPods. It’s time to step into the future, that’s the push Apple is going for. Wires should be a thing of the past by 2020, it’s just that time. They’re messy and awkward. Wireless headphones can last for years to come, rather than buying rubbish repeatedly.
I bought an 8plus, loved it. Tried out the X returned it a week later. It was giving me some pretty bad eye strain and headaches I couldn’t even use my $1000 iPhone . Back to the iPhone 8 Plus.
Joshmakey12 I have the XR, it is amazing phone regarding the price, I don’t mind the display at all and battery life is awesome. Personally the whole phone is too big and heavy (192 grams) and u need a big case to protect it. Apart from that, it is a great buy.

8 Plus all the way. Great video. I chose the 8 Plus over the X as 1.) I prefer the Touch ID 2.) I don’t like the notch on the X 3.) I like having the home button 4.) It’s better value and has 99% of the good features that the X has such as the cameras & processor 5.) just a seem less upgrade experience from the iPhone 6
Greenmonkey552 I’ve had 2 top of the range Samsung’s when they came out. The Note and the Samsung S7 edge. They are good phones but: 1. The screens break really easily from my experience 2. The iPhone works much more seamlessly in user experience opening apps and use. 3. Android phones crash a lot and have never had a crash with my iPhone 8 Plus in the first few months of having it. 4. The battery life is really good on iPhone 8 Plus 5. Using the iPhone with DJI Mavic Pro as a controller is far far more reliable than the Samsung phones which always had problems when I used with the Mavic. I could carry on but for others things to do. I’m not really bothered Apple, Samsung, Sony I just buy the product that works best for me.
I came from a 6plus to the X and I would always drop the 6 plus because of how chunky and wide the phone is. The iphone X feels better in the hand and for the last two months of having the X all the gestures feels normal.

OMG!! You are the 1st person on TH-cam that I have come across that mentioned the red/white eye problem with the camera on the iPhone X. Like you, I shoot a lot of pics and video of my kids and it’s normally in low light. In every video, my kids have white eyes. I actually wanted to throw the X through a window. It’s a design flaw with the iPhone X that Apple won’t acknowledge. Thank you for pointing this out.
Yes, it’s just so sad that many consumers are willing to put up with this crap from Apple. It’s definitely a design flaw because I’ve tested it very throughly and it always does the same thing. Now, I did shoot some videos in lowlight with the iPhone X using the flash my my iPhone 8 Plus at the same time and the red eyes and white eyes go away. So it’s definitely the flash design being to close the the lens. If you pay attention closely you can also see that the iPhone X picks up a lot of lint when using the flash in low light. I can’t believe this past the testing lab when this phone was in the early testing stages. I guess Apple couldn’t afford to push this phone back to this fall. That would be a big loss for the investors and Apple. I hope those video gets the attention from Apple. Thanks for watching.

iPhone 8/8+ is better overall. Does the optical stabilisation on the X make a real world difference? Even if it did, the red/white eyes on photos and video are a big no-go for me at least. Gonna be upgrading from an old iPhone 5 and as of now everything points out iPhone 8/8+. Thanks for this video, very useful.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus has optical image stabilization too. The only difference is the telephoto lens on the iPhone X is stabilized as well. Yes, the red eyes issue is a really serious problem on the X. It has not been talked about yet and people are unaware of the issue. A lot of my holiday photos and videos were ruined because of the flash on the X. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the long time support. Yeah, DXo mark did mention that the iPhone X quad Led flash did suffer from red eyes and it was underexposed compared to iPhone 8 Plus. I just didn’t think it would be this serious with the red eyes.

I agree with your choice. I think that the iPhone X is great, but it makes too many sacrifices to be excellent. I am personally using a Moto E4 Plus I got at $100 because I feel as though it does not compromise anything for a phone and is at a great price, especially if you get the Amazon Offers and Ads like I did

I completely agree with you and thats why after going back and forth with both, I stuck with the 8 Plus and returned my X. The plus has a bigger/wider screen perfect for watching videos, faster touch id, and the multitasking is a mess too, why do you have to long press to dismiss an app.

Hi! Those are exactly some of the reasons why I've choosen the 8+ instead of the X. I never believed in face ID, the fingerprint is so fast and reliable. By the way, I had the phone since december 2017 and I'm super satisfied. Never ran out of battery. IMHO it's a shame they didn't include at least the quick charge cable usb-c to lightning, but I guess that's just the Apple's style we're all used to. Quick charge makes a huge difference.

My Amiga 1500 still works from 1993 but I moved on to a PS4 Pro! I used every Plus model from 6 to 8 Plus, that I kept for 2 months until I touched the X for the first time and I ditched the 8 Plus. It felt right, I was very tired of the same design every year, I think it is to move on a bit. While I still miss some things from the Plus classic design and features I'm still perfectly fine with the X. It's not perfect but it's a step forward. I can't understand all this negativity and hate for it. And it works! When I first bought the Samsung Note 3 I realized that I cant go back to smaller screen anymore, now that I got my first bezel-less phone it's hard for me to go back to bezels too...
George CNTech The new models don’t come out for another 5 months so I don’t see why someone should be driven to wait unless they really didn’t have the need for a cutting edge phone. Models only last for 1 year anyway so it’s only slightly more than halfway through the period.
PWM (plus width modulation) is such an underrated topic! More tech youtubers need to talk about it more often, as many people are using OLED panel screen phones, but can’t figure out why they’re getting eye strains/headaches. Thanks for bringing awareness to this! I wish Apple finally just made a Super Retina LCD panel already for those who don’t want OLED.

Had my Iphone 8 plus for years now, with case all the time. It is in great condition, no scratches or dents. The only thing is that the lightning connector may be going bad inside after more than 3 years. My battery’s health is at 82% still a great charge and lasts all day. The touch ID is awesome, I use it for most of my apps, from banking to purchases.. And I’m actually about to buy a another one, as we speak. Brand new, but this time with 256GB. Stuff like this I don’t buy used, avoid surprises!

Brian Crawford I am coming from a 6s plus. The home button there was more stable. When i bought the8 plus i noticed that the Home Button has a strange click sound and i am afraid it wont last for long
if i was gonna get 8 series over the x, then i'd get standard 8 to save a lot of weight and girth. 202 grams and the dimensions of the 8+ are just absurd. Even the 174 of the x is pushing my comfort limits. I'm happy with my x, but the standard 8 is a VERY close runner up. The 8+ is absurd.

I switched from the X to 8+ red best decision. The 8+ lasts me longer and and some iPhone X came with defects so some people actually have really overheated phones for no reason
I'm so glad the PWM issue is raised in videos. Most reviewers complain when new phones don't have OLED but for those of us sensitive to flicker it's a pain that flagships and even mid range phones are going OLED. I hope the rumored 6.1" iPhone with LCD display won't be cheated of important features. Even though rumors suggest it won't have 3D touch or a that nice stainless steel bezel. I'm kinda betting on the 6.1" since Google has cut of my upgrade path with all the pixels using OLED.
I’m sticking with my iPhone 8plus. I had it for only a year and I’m not wasting my money on another iPhone until they can incorporate the the Touch ID on the upcoming devices.
Troy Trav I spent hours upon hours watching and reading reviews because I was so conflicted about whether I wanted to upgrade to the 8+ or the X (from a 6+). I eventually decided on the 8+ and couldn’t be happier. In the end it came down to size and Touch ID as crucial factors in choosing the 8+. Good luck making a choice! If it’s the 8+ you shouldn’t regret it.
You are already late to the party to upgrade, might as wait for the next gen iPhone. Try to upgrade in the beginning to be on time. iPhone X design is the future. The iPhone 8 Plus design is outdated now.

I bought an 8plus, loved it. Tried out the X returned it a week later. It was giving me some pretty bad eye strain and headaches I couldn’t even use my $1000 iPhone . Back to the iPhone 8 Plus.
I got 8 plus was thinking about Xr anyone have thoughts?
Joshmakey12 I have the XR, it is amazing phone regarding the price, I don’t mind the display at all and battery life is awesome. Personally the whole phone is too big and heavy (192 grams) and u need a big case to protect it. Apart from that, it is a great buy.

1.) I prefer the Touch ID
2.) I don’t like the notch on the X
3.) I like having the home button
4.) It’s better value and has 99% of the good features that the X has such as the cameras & processor
5.) just a seem less upgrade experience from the iPhone 6

Greenmonkey552 I’ve had 2 top of the range Samsung’s when they came out. The Note and the Samsung S7 edge. They are good phones but:
1. The screens break really easily from my experience
2. The iPhone works much more seamlessly in user experience opening apps and use.
3. Android phones crash a lot and have never had a crash with my iPhone 8 Plus in the first few months of having it.
4. The battery life is really good on iPhone 8 Plus
5. Using the iPhone with DJI Mavic Pro as a controller is far far more reliable than the Samsung phones which always had problems when I used with the Mavic.
I could carry on but for others things to do. I’m not really bothered Apple, Samsung, Sony I just buy the product that works best for me.

I came from a 6plus to the X and I would always drop the 6 plus because of how chunky and wide the phone is. The iphone X feels better in the hand and for the last two months of having the X all the gestures feels normal.

OMG!! You are the 1st person on TH-cam that I have come across that mentioned the red/white eye problem with the camera on the iPhone X. Like you, I shoot a lot of pics and video of my kids and it’s normally in low light. In every video, my kids have white eyes. I actually wanted to throw the X through a window. It’s a design flaw with the iPhone X that Apple won’t acknowledge. Thank you for pointing this out.
Yes, it’s just so sad that many consumers are willing to put up with this crap from Apple. It’s definitely a design flaw because I’ve tested it very throughly and it always does the same thing. Now, I did shoot some videos in lowlight with the iPhone X using the flash my my iPhone 8 Plus at the same time and the red eyes and white eyes go away. So it’s definitely the flash design being to close the the lens. If you pay attention closely you can also see that the iPhone X picks up a lot of lint when using the flash in low light. I can’t believe this past the testing lab when this phone was in the early testing stages. I guess Apple couldn’t afford to push this phone back to this fall. That would be a big loss for the investors and Apple. I hope those video gets the attention from Apple. Thanks for watching.

iPhone 8/8+ is better overall. Does the optical stabilisation on the X make a real world difference? Even if it did, the red/white eyes on photos and video are a big no-go for me at least. Gonna be upgrading from an old iPhone 5 and as of now everything points out iPhone 8/8+. Thanks for this video, very useful.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus has optical image stabilization too. The only difference is the telephoto lens on the iPhone X is stabilized as well. Yes, the red eyes issue is a really serious problem on the X. It has not been talked about yet and people are unaware of the issue. A lot of my holiday photos and videos were ruined because of the flash on the X. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the long time support. Yeah, DXo mark did mention that the iPhone X quad Led flash did suffer from red eyes and it was underexposed compared to iPhone 8 Plus. I just didn’t think it would be this serious with the red eyes.

I agree with your choice. I think that the iPhone X is great, but it makes too many sacrifices to be excellent. I am personally using a Moto E4 Plus I got at $100 because I feel as though it does not compromise anything for a phone and is at a great price, especially if you get the Amazon Offers and Ads like I did

I completely agree with you and thats why after going back and forth with both, I stuck with the 8 Plus and returned my X. The plus has a bigger/wider screen perfect for watching videos, faster touch id, and the multitasking is a mess too, why do you have to long press to dismiss an app.

Hi! Those are exactly some of the reasons why I've choosen the 8+ instead of the X. I never believed in face ID, the fingerprint is so fast and reliable. By the way, I had the phone since december 2017 and I'm super satisfied. Never ran out of battery. IMHO it's a shame they didn't include at least the quick charge cable usb-c to lightning, but I guess that's just the Apple's style we're all used to. Quick charge makes a huge difference.

While I liked the iPhone 8 Plus, it's 2018, I'm not going back to the big bezels of 2015. Simple as that mate.
My Amiga 1500 still works from 1993 but I moved on to a PS4 Pro! I used every Plus model from 6 to 8 Plus, that I kept for 2 months until I touched the X for the first time and I ditched the 8 Plus. It felt right, I was very tired of the same design every year, I think it is to move on a bit. While I still miss some things from the Plus classic design and features I'm still perfectly fine with the X. It's not perfect but it's a step forward. I can't understand all this negativity and hate for it. And it works! When I first bought the Samsung Note 3 I realized that I cant go back to smaller screen anymore, now that I got my first bezel-less phone it's hard for me to go back to bezels too...
George CNTech The new models don’t come out for another 5 months so I don’t see why someone should be driven to wait unless they really didn’t have the need for a cutting edge phone. Models only last for 1 year anyway so it’s only slightly more than halfway through the period.

PWM (plus width modulation) is such an underrated topic! More tech youtubers need to talk about it more often, as many people are using OLED panel screen phones, but can’t figure out why they’re getting eye strains/headaches. Thanks for bringing awareness to this! I wish Apple finally just made a Super Retina LCD panel already for those who don’t want OLED.

Had my Iphone 8 plus for years now, with case all the time. It is in great condition, no scratches or dents. The only thing is that the lightning connector may be going bad inside after more than 3 years.
My battery’s health is at 82% still a great charge and lasts all day. The touch ID is awesome, I use it for most of my apps, from banking to purchases..
And I’m actually about to buy a another one, as we speak. Brand new, but this time with 256GB. Stuff like this I don’t buy used, avoid surprises!
I have had many iPhones my last one was a 6 Plus... the 8 Plus is a beast, smooth tons of power good battery, and I like the home button ... no complaints.
Brian Crawford I am coming from a 6s plus. The home button there was more stable. When i bought the8 plus i noticed that the Home Button has a strange click sound and i am afraid it wont last for long

if i was gonna get 8 series over the x, then i'd get standard 8 to save a lot of weight and girth. 202 grams and the dimensions of the 8+ are just absurd. Even the 174 of the x is pushing my comfort limits. I'm happy with my x, but the standard 8 is a VERY close runner up. The 8+ is absurd.

I bought the iPhone X, after a month, I missed the iPhone 8 Plus. Sold the IPhone X and went back to the 8 Plus. Battery life is insane, and although the iPhone 8 Plus has a 5.5 screen, it provides more real estate on apps and videos versus the iPhone X

I switched from the X to 8+ red best decision. The 8+ lasts me longer and and some iPhone X came with defects so some people actually have really overheated phones for no reason

I'm so glad the PWM issue is raised in videos. Most reviewers complain when new phones don't have OLED but for those of us sensitive to flicker it's a pain that flagships and even mid range phones are going OLED. I hope the rumored 6.1" iPhone with LCD display won't be cheated of important features. Even though rumors suggest it won't have 3D touch or a that nice stainless steel bezel. I'm kinda betting on the 6.1" since Google has cut of my upgrade path with all the pixels using OLED.

Troy Trav I spent hours upon hours watching and reading reviews because I was so conflicted about whether I wanted to upgrade to the 8+ or the X (from a 6+). I eventually decided on the 8+ and couldn’t be happier. In the end it came down to size and Touch ID as crucial factors in choosing the 8+. Good luck making a choice! If it’s the 8+ you shouldn’t regret it.
Skip the upgrade and wait til 2018 models come.
