As big fans of the original Helldivers, when we heard that there was a sequel coming we knew it was something we had to cover on this channel. In a game like this I'm totally the 3rd wheel between him and his friends, but I don't hear any complaints about having an extra supply pack on deck!

The servers seem to fixed at this point, haven’t heard anyone complain yet so it should be fine to buy the game.

This is the starship troopers like game I've been begging for since I was a kid. And I don't mean movie-verse, but book verse. Now all they need to fulfill my childhood dreams is manheld nuclear devices

It seems like there is a whole new subgenre of co-op shooters. This, Deep Rock Galactic, Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Starship Troopers: Extermination, seem to have a lot of similarities. Including the fact that you are not really playing the good guys, but that doesn't matter as long as it doesn't take itself too seriously.

You work for a company that's insane enough to mine Hoxxes, doesn't really care about the dwarves lives (though granted, the dwarfs are so insane that they probably don't care all that much either), and all in all, Management is definitely evil through being Suits: They don't care. They might not be the good guys, but you're just fighting against the nature hellzone that is Hoxxes
The thing in common is that in all cases you might not be "good", but your enemies are worse. Or at the very least vicious bugs.

I love that you were calling resupplies snacks, I also often lean towards support but have been going for more automation with turrets or support weapons, but will definitely be getting the resource pack

Yup, thats one of those games that ive played for only 2-3 hours with friends once, but a few of its tracks on my regular rotation. Rain Formerly Known As Purple being my fav!

Speaking of Arrowhead, you REALLY need to give their earlier games a try, like magicka! Its Helldivers with a single player campaign, on STEROIDS! And there's just so much content for it! Its one of my favourite games of all time!

Main issue I had with the first Helldivers was how sticking together was mandatory given everyone had to fit on the screen, so it now being optional (even if highly recommended) would definitely make me check it out as I can now charge ahead with reckless abandon and probably die trying

If I'm not mistaken, can't a 'support' also do a 'mortar squad' formation with teammates? One person can carry an ammo pack for rockets, then join a teammate with a rocket launcher to give extreme rate of fire!
Technically it's a recoilless rifle not a rocket launcher but yes there are squad weapons like the recoilless and the auto cannon where one carries the gun the other the ammo backpack, allowing you to operate faster then lugging along both alone.

interesting thing about the beginning equipment is that it's not that bad in higher levels if you use it right. My partner and I did a few level 9's with just us two only using the stock gear just to see how far we could get and it was actually a bit easier than, for example, the all electric loadout.
That's because all weapons, armoursets and stratagems in this game are sidegrades to each other and none of them are (supposed to be) marginally better than any others in general.

Fun fact: if you share an empty supply pack when everyone grabs a resupply, they'll refill the snacks for you!
The problem with the game is the choice of Anti-cheat. They chose Nprotect, a kernel-level anti-cheat that hasn't been updated in years.
