Thanks for your superb videos. I build a lot of model kits (currently the 1:24 scale Spitfire from Airfix) and your videos are a fantastic source of reference material covering many things that the instructions miss out. Really appreciate the time and effort you put into them.

Another superb video. These videos are like the walk around books modellers use for reference only better.
It was interesting to see a selection of mark V’s to make a comparison.

Another great video- In the 70's BL614 was at RAF Colerne, While on BBMF I removed the undercarriage mounting pintles to replace those cracked on AB910, The actual undercarriage Oleo's were actually filled with concrete, as they were in such a poor state.

Fantastic. Thank you so much Brian. If you ever have the chance to do a video like this on a Mk.VIII... ;)

Excellent videos and as the previous person mentioned I am building the Airfix 1/24 Spitfire MK1V and trying to determine the correct period seat details, primarily the colour?

My photos of the seat illustrate how it looked. I hope it proves helpful to you. Thanks

Hi Brian, thanks for the videos, very good. One question, from the pictures, it seems that some Mk V models had the internal bulletproof windscreen whilst others have the older external screen and curved plexiglass quarterlights. I had always thought that the internal and more streamlined windscreen came in with the Mk V. Can you clarify. Thanks

Thanks for your feedback, I'm pleased you like my videos. The external windscreen in my photographs is fitted to the Historic Aircraft Collection's BM597 and is the earlier version of the windscreen. Later Mk.Vs, such as AR501 were fitted with the internal more streamlined version. If you take a look at my video covering the Spitfire Mk.V's Fuselage, near the beginning is an explanation and two AP diagrams, showing the internal and external versions. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

The pilot's microphone / telephone socket is fitted on the right-hand side of the pilot's seat.
