I love the husbandry on the homestead, even though some animals will be for food it's no reason to give them a terrible unloved life. Compassion and empathy to all 💕
Was the 400th like on this video. Thanks for showing the setting up of the Electric fence for the animals. I've often wondered how hard it was to setup, so seems pretty straight forward. Nice calming way to end the video by the cows grazing on green grass. It is amazing how they know exactly what different greens are best for them to eat.
We walked all the way to the top of the hill to start pulling the electric wire and then I looked at Ashlyn and said " we should have started pulling it from down there". She gave me a hilarious look as we walked all the way back down again! lol. It does snow here, not a ton though.
@@ThePasturedHomestead 🤣😂🤣 You guys are lucky to have all 4 seasons. Where i live on the Eastern Side of Australia we get all 4 seasons but there's no snow.. Never actually seen snow in my life and I'm 30 🥲fun fact though: the Australian Snowy Mountains receive more snow each year than Switzerland 😶 closest thing to snow I've ever seen is a tiny bit of "frost" on the grass. The Winter where I am is a joke.. I wear a t-shirt, shorts and thongs (Flip Flops) all year round! How's the chooks and Animals doing? Are you prepared for Winter?
@@Kristian_Hudson I love the snow, but not too much of it! Chooks and the herd are doing great lol. The winters aren’t very harsh here so we don’t have to prepare too much for winter thankfully!
@@lesiacessna4097 thank you! It’s a hard part of having a farm but it’s apart of life. The people we bought her from didn’t take very good care of them. Thankfully Rosie and Buddy are still with us and doing amazing! I think we saved them!
I haven't watched but two of the vids so far..but your wife actually picked something out of the black bottle fed cow/steer whatever but if she gets too attached well, from painful experience love and cows intended for slaughter doesnt make for a happy wife and cooking a Sunday beef roast..If you love someone you pick lint or are the one to tell you about spinich in your teeth.

Absolutely! All animals deserve respect and a good life!

Its interesting seeing what the cows like to eat! It helps me know what is "good" grass and what isnt!
Enjoyed the video
If you decide to build more fence. The bucket on the front end loader will push your posts right on down in the ground
That’s a great note. Going to use that next time. I would have though it would bend it.
It's nice to see your wife out and about
Another great video! I was getting tired just watching lol does it snow where you guys are?

Agreed! We will be keeping our Angus bull (buddy) for breeding purposes. The offspring will then be our beef supply.
Agreed. This is why I just can’t do a beef cow. I know I would get attached. Glad Buddy will be a breeder 😊
@@terrimccullough724 yeah so does Ashlyn lol. She made sure to tell me we aren’t ever butchering him 😂
