when i used to play defcon i used to fool people into thinking i'd launched all my nukes and then when everyones destroyed each other BAM 50 nukes incoming!
How to Rythian:
Step 1: Play a game in which you win by nuking people.
Step 2: Expect people not to nuke you because you didn't do well at the game.
Step 3: Get nuked.
Step 4: Whine and call people traitors.

But duncan used magic, he manipulated points and nukes, and defences, and allowed people to hit him at the end to make it look like brilliant strategy

Why is it that every time there is a multiplayer yogscast thing I always root for Sips, or whatever team he's on?

Technically this isn't even close to how devastating nuclear would would be, they didn't even use 5% of the worlds nuclear arsenal, imagine America unleashing all its 6,800 nukes at once
Also, missile defence systems are far less common and less effective.
Australia is safe! Well, it probably isn't much of a target in the game. There are 22 million people if memory serves me right, and this country is about the size of Europe.
Yeah but don't forget that most of them live in a few big cities.
Also damn, I knew only a relatively small amount of people live in Australia but only 24 million (as of the writing of this comment)? That is about 1/4 of germany...

the initial blasts of the nukes only killed 3.97083333333% of the current world population, which is a lot less than it looks like in the game, although the fallout could possibly kill a lot more, possibly up to 10% of the population, possibly more, (it depends how far the fallout is spread across the globe, what sort of effects it has). Either way, the hundred or so nukes that managed to hit their target likely wouldn't cause a disaster of apocalyptic proportions. However, many global governments would be destroyed, causing anarchy in various parts of the world. This may not be the case in North America, due to the Continuity of Government (COG) contingency plan.

I learned 2 things from this video. 1) if you live in a 3rd world country or the southern part of asia in WW3 your ok, 2) nobody ever listens to rythian when it comes to strategy games.
