Thank you all for the feedback on the teaser!
We were pleasantly surprised at the impact it's having! However, we would like to clarify some points about it:
About the controversy on the "Amstrad Supremacy" comment, we don't want to upset anyone, please don't misunderstand us, all platforms are wonderful and our intention is to motivate developers to create more and more amazing things. Let's take the competition with sportsmanship to make a vibrant scene!
Regarding game requirements, it is still at an early stage of development so we still can't give exact info, but the goal is to launch it in 2 versions: disk(s) and cartridge. Disk version will be a lite version and will not support 464 without memory expansion, cartridge version will run on any CPC and this is why we say that it will be compatible with all CPC models. This is mainly a cartridge project, whose storage capacity will allow us to provide all the content, variety of cars and scenarios, game modes and other features that we want to include to make a great game!
Thanks!
Everyone knows the KIM-1 beats all systems anyway :P
Joking aside, this is an awesome project and I'm looking forward to seeing more than this tiny teaser!
BG Prods Do you mean cassette rather than cartridge?
About the "Amstrad Supremacy"... C64 users and coders are arrogant towards the Amstrad : they deserve what they deserve !
So um.... Did it get finished?
#FakeFootage #VapourWare #BatmanForNever
It's been two years, any progress on this?
Hi, are there any updates regarding this project?
Er, that looks rather impressive!!...
I'm guessing the ingame road is some clever CRTC work, showing and manipulating different predrawn 'lines' of the road to effect a fast 3d display... I know techniques like that have been used in demos for a while - but I don't think anyone's done it in a game before?
And I guess the 3D rotating cars are compiled sprites... I mean, they have to be for that speed surely...
Just one thought, Do you expect the game to work on 128k systems, or will it require a memory upgrade?
One year later, where are we ?
What happened to this game?
Unbelievable, guys! Unbelievable! You are the greatest
Any further developments on this?
2022 and I'm still here hoping for news on this legendary project.♥️
New footage just posted to Twitter, I will be happy to be proven wrong on this...
@@fLaMePr0oF Xyphoe beat you to it :D
@@LordmonkeyTRM Yup I had just watched his video 😀

@@dna9838I might be back to comment more when it get released. This isn't your typical C64 developer
Wow, that is truly stunning, want exclusive behind the scenes info on this gem. I still love the covenant and movie game on CPC.
Is it possible to be a patreon supporter for Rhino/BG Prods?
Thank you for your interest, we appreciate your offer!
At the moment we don't have any way of funding, we try to do everything for love of art and non-profit.

You are simply the BEST !
Such games really can CHANGE HISTORY in 8bit computing!
I suspect this "miracle" in game scrolling involves the 6845 CRT controller hardware scrolling capabilities, right?
No matter how efficient and fast your code might be, frankly i CANT imagine any other way you can produce this AMAZING scrolling on a CPC!
RESPECT! ;-)
This is incredible!! Amazing, erstauntlich, uncroyable, incrível.... Es increíble!! Ça sera le jeu le plus ambitieux que jamais ne soit fait pour un ordinateur de 8-bit... Gracias Batman Group!!
Wow that looks super promising! I'm guessing the nice looking rotating car models depend a lot on extra cartridge storage, but the real meat seems to be where the actual game is running. And that just looks effing amazing!
Not only '16 bit perfomance', but better performing than most 16 bit racing games were performing at the time.
More than two years later, nothing happened. I guess it was just that promising trailer.
New footage has been released - three or so weeks ago - just to disprove claims of it being a hoax etc. :)
any update ? hope the project still live
You mention something about being the last masterpiece. Please don't let it be.
Yes please BG don't let it be !!!
Bearing in mind 3 years have passed and we still haven't had any updates on this project, it takes a large amount of effort over a long period of time to get these things working as intended on the hardware. I'm not surprised BG don't want to go through it all again!
How can it be possible?
Oh my oh my...... Rhino and co are wizards! How is this magic working? Would be happy to be one of the first to review this like I did with PD. Cannot wait!
Amstrad CPC lo mejoh !! Enhorabuena Batman group!!
Just amazing! I'm a C64 guy but I just love this! Impressive beyond words!
An amazing feat. One can only imagine what this could have looked like on the 6128 Plus..!
It will run on a 6128 Plus! Looking forward to this.

just unbelievable
Wouuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa incredible !!!
Wow!!! I can't believe my eyes!!! 😀 What an incredible framerate also!!!
Hi ! Any news ?
I can't wait... 🤤😊😍
One year ago... To Rhino: What have you been doing?
Patience is a virtue.
@@GenMaster silence even more so
@@fygarOnTheRun Really? Rhino is a virtuous one, then.
Coding!
I was referring to a text in Batman Forever demo, where Rhino aksed the CPC scene what they have been doing all the years.
Ouch! Looks amazing!
Compare this to Outrun on the Amiga.. Man, the framerate is low on the Amiga
Any update on this????
It is being worked on. 2016... Pinball dreams preview. 2019 release.
Nice! And a Amiga version?! Please!!!
when's this out then?
Is this 464 plus, it would be good to sell a gx 4000 cartridge. Does this use extra hardware on the cartridge?
Thank you for your interest!
The development is still in a very early stage, but we can say that the game will be for CPC old, no plus, and although it will be compatible will not use the additional hardware of the plus models.
The cartridge version will only need 64kb of RAM, so it could be compatible with the 464 plus but the cartridge model is not yet decided, so far we are working without cartridge, but according to our estimates it will be necessary the additional rom of a cartridge so that the full game can have everything we want to do and to be compatible with all models!
Regards
Madre mía! 😳😳😳 ¿Dónde compro un CPC?
We only had the Commodore 64 Here in America But that looks incredible
I have no words... If you can do this with a cpc.. What can you do with an amiga? Are you doing something for the amiga?
I love the humbleness of this presentation!
Any news on this?
Some are saying that it is cheating when a program uses ROM for storage. I remember well that the 464 brouchures from 1984/85 told that up to 4 MB of ROM software could be accessed
xanvision needs some ointment after that 🔥🔥🔥
Will this run on a STOCK CPC ?
BG Prods writes: "Disk version will be a lite version and will not support 464 without memory expansion, cartridge version will run on any CPC and this is why we say that it will be compatible with all CPC models"
Pity they don't state what level of memory expansion. 128k? 512k? 1024k?
@@ivarfiske1913 So the answer is: No. It doesn't
No. It doesn't. They cannot make it run neither in 64kb nor with just a diskette. They use additional memory and fast loads from modern disks, so it's a cheat
@@xanvision The answer yes it will run on a stock CPC like the CPC 6128 and 6128 plus. With a cartridge it will run on all CPCs
Hola. When this masterpiece will be available? Can't wait to see it when it is finished. Congratulations for your Pinball Dreams conversion by the way.
Very impressive engine! Not sure how it's actually done, since I'm not a CPC expert, but if I were to try to do something like this, I guess palette changes controlled with line interrupts could be used for the "road moving forward" effect, and the horizontal lines out of which the road is made, can be probably precomputed, so they only need to be fast copied if needed in every frame. Which only leaves the car and decorations. Since the action mostly happens on the bottom part of the screen, I think 25fps is definitively achievable! Very nice!!! Looking forward to the final game! But if I were you I would have refrained from adding all of those "supremacy" and "best 8 bit platform" messages in the video. You are just calling for a flame war here... but oh well, what is done is done...
It's their opinion, no need for c64 fanboys to get all bent out of shape over it, right? 😏
All they have to do is...not watch these videos.
Realmente es digno de ver , gracias por el esfuerzo en realizar estas maravillas :)
Amazing!!!!!
1:14 - 1:25 You have GOT to be kidding me!
i guess not.
Quite good for a machine that is only a substandard Spectrum 😎
@@dartsma464 It's the opposite, the Spectrum is the CPC poor's man.
@@dlfrsilver When will Spectrum users see that? Still it's good that the Amstrad gets the best 8-bit pinball and car race game
That is just an animation using pre rendered 3D graphics, obviously modelled and rendered with PC and frames converted for CPC.
It's me or this game is inspired by the V-Rally that came out on GameBoy? (graphically)
MONSTRUEUX.

Of course you mean CPC Plus, right?
it's CPC

It even says in the trailer "Supports ALL models"
@@LordmonkeyTRMYes. but which model are they showcasing here
I believe that is a regular CPC just by looking at the colour palette. In plus probably they would have used gradients kinda as in Crazy Cars 2 for the sky

It is 25fps, the same as Lotus 2 on the Amiga.

I hope so Stéphane. You're probably right though. Noone with even the slightest understanding of old computers could possibly dislike this!
21 salty bitchbois and counting
Extremely impressive. Kinda want to refuse to believe it's running on the CPC, that bit of in-game footage is too smooth with all that stuff on screen. ;P
That's the power of the CRTC chip for you. 🤷
@@GenMaster 6845 rules! ;-)
If only they could unleash this power back at the days ,instead of crappy porting spectrum games...
@@ikonsgr They _could_ have, but what can you do. Better late than never, eh? :) The CPC got the short end of the stick in terms of game development, because it didn't sell as much as the other 8-bits. From a business standpoint, it kind of makes sense that software houses wouldn't give it the time of day. When they _did_ , however, the CPC got the best versions of games out of all the 8-bit micros.
Development for the 6128 Plus is also at an all-time high lately, what with the two Ghosts 'n' Goblins remakes and the upcoming Shadow of the Beast remake and I'm looking forward to that as well!
@@GenMaster It's true that later games (of late 80's early 90's) were generally better than early day games, but still, nothing like this or super edge grinder was ever created. And the irony is that the time and effort needed to "unlock" amstrad cpc TRUE powers, was eventually made by NON profit hobbyists rather than software houses... Having said that, someone could say that from a business standpoint, it kind of NOT make sense that software houses wouldn't give CPC the time of day :-) Just imagine how much a game like this, would sell on amstrad cpc (not to mention how this could impact on MUCH further selling of the machine....)
As for plus models, it was a classic case of :"too little too late" , so i'm afraid they sell so little and for so short time, that i don't know if there are more than a few 100's left in working order... On the other hand, cpc models, and especially 6128 sold in millions, and even today i'm pretty sure there are many thousands (even 10 of thousands) still live and kicking all over the world (i happen to make and sell many things for 80's home micros especially amstrad and amiga so i know this "first hand" ;-) )
@@ikonsgr Well, that's the thing; they didn't want to put in the extra effort, because of the smaller install base. From their viewpoint, it was Amstrad's job to sell more CPC's, not theirs. A narrow-minded attitude, to be sure, but it's the bitter truth. Do not forget, the c64 was also marketed in the U.S., two years prior, so it was already the most well established 8-bit, along with the Atari.
I agree with you, of course, that this shouldn't have happened.
As for the Plus...I don't get this "too little, too late" argument.
"too little" - the 6128 Plus is the most advanced 8-bit system, so how is it "too little"?
"too late" - Amstrad obviously started working on the CPC successor long before it was released in 1990, I'm guessing at least two years prior. The 8-bits were still alive and kicking in 1990, you even had commodore release the 64GS in 1992 (which was, by that logic, an even more severe case of "too little, too late", since it was just a repackaged c64...).
What caused the failure of the Plus/GX4000 was the lack of dedicated software, i.e. games built from the ground up for those systems, not the specs or the time the systems were released.
8-bits, after all, will never die!
I love my 6128 Plus to (8) bits! :)
Que chulo.
Omg 😍though for real if this weren't BG I would be calling BS. Also has PD even been released yet??
I'm blown away by the promised features...

All retroheads best get ready to worship the CPC and BG games.
If anyone is having trouble believing this I suggest you go look at Batman Begins again...and that was 8years ago.
Lo dicen claro, EL MEJOR 8 BIT!!! 👏😱
17 thumbs down so far. My guess is that there are seventeen C64/Spectrum owners slithering in pain somewhere
21 and counting! The butthurt is real! 😂
Colour me impressed
If anyone else told be it will be a real game. I would have called them a liar. but here ... I will just wait and download an emulator.
..and PLEASE make a game for the Amiga!! :-P
C64 fanboys are going to cry (again).
😏 😭
WOW and OMG! :-P
The racing engine is nice, but the clip shown looks like 8x8 to 16x16 pixel roadside objects that occur far less frequently than the enormous roadside objects of Chase HQ on the CPC so.................
Just for sharing some info, the max size of the sprites shown in the video are as follows: curve sign 88x48, bushes 64x64, but this does not mean that in the final version there are larger sprites. On the other hand, the engine supports up to 32 sprites on the set and 8 cars on the road simultaneously. But yes, Chase HQ is a great game!
Oh, whos, such a nice piece of vaporware. Behold the new Duke Nuken.
Have you seen Pinball Dreams and Batman demo from the same guys?
Still in development. Pinball Dreams preview... 2016. Release 2019. So vapourware? Dont think so.

#FakeFootage #VapourWare #BatmanForNever
Faaaaaaaaaaaaaakeee
Fake....
If it had been on a Spectrum or a C64 we would have known it was fake. The Batman demo and Pinball Dreams from the same guys, shows that they are capable to do more with the CPC than whats was thought possible
That is an incorrect answer.
hello ?? this is a SCAM or what ???? WHERE IS THE FUCKING GAME ???
I don't buy this. Either it will require 512kb of RAM or each level will be loaded from the disk. The road is simply precalculated data for each perspective view and the elements on the sides of the road are made with rhe same manner- precalculated images which are changed with the change of perspective and which are strictly bond with the road phase- you can see that when bushes on the left side end with the change of the road direction, and after that new bushes emerge on the right side. Its all just precalculations, which are drawn directly to the screen by stack copying method. Nothing to be exciting about. Cpc has a slightly better processor than Zx Spectrum but twice the number of screen ram, and there were no 25fps racing games on speccy whatsoever, maybe except for "wec le mans" which operated in 7-12,6 fps. Eclipse my ass.
eat your heart out !!!
Sure, for a moment I paused the video and tried to check if it was posted 1st April. But I guess it's real since it's BG, they wouldn't post a fake, and judging by their previous masterpieces they can do it.
"All models supported..." right there in the trailer dude.
But speccy own no crtc, that's a big difference.cpc could achieve this 25fps racing game, i'm impatient to see that for real..
get over it man, it's real :D
