Loved Rhule's comment at the very end. He's playing the LONG game for next season right NOW. He knows we only need 1 more win to go bowling (of course we'd all love to win 3) and how that would then give NU those December practices....all with Dana already in the building instead of bringing him or someone else in over the off-season. Love his urgency and willingness to be humble.
I get the point but when he announced Holgerson as the OC for the last 3 games he also added that he had no idea if Holgerson would be here come next Fall and beyond because he could take a head coaching gig at any time....meaning it's still uncertain who will be calling the offense next season and that this is the landscape of the modern college football....so for me it's kinda hard to get too worked up about Holgerson being here when that possibility is hanging over the team all the time. That has to be tough on the team too especially if they get personally invested in a Coach and then poof that Coach is gone in the blink of an eye....it's gotta be tough on young guys who look for that kind of coach - player relationship....hell alot of these kids....the only Father figure they ever knew was their FREAKIN FOOTBALL COACH !....
I care about the 6th win more for the extra month of practice and player development than anything else. If it’s a good game and a win, that’s just a thin bit of icing on the cake.
Keep working Coach.... You are on the right track.... Next year you will have more young guys hungry to play and fewer older guys that are just dead weight, wanting to milk the program for all the perks, with the minimum amount of effort, desire or commitment.
My opinion it's crazy how everyone thinks a new OC can come in overnight and turn over the offense there's a lot of factors that will play into it will he be calling sats plays or are they trying to make the offense learn his plays overnight it'll take time to get going
No one is thinking he's going to completely turn it around. What he can do is better play calling and a better flow to the offense. Also he can come a simplify things. You're the crazy one for thinking everyone expects a total turn around
Having Dana Holgerson ain't gonna mean doodley squat if we still can't RUN THE DAMNED BALL FOR CRYIN IN A BUCKET ! Now there is absolutely no reason .....none whatsoever that we shouldnt win the last 3 and thats a championship mind set. We had it under Coach Osborne when the dam broke and we had the right defense and players to run Coach McBrides version of the Attacking 4-3 Defense. We were built to out physical opposing offenses particularly the pass happy offenses of the ACC and SEC. Our offense was built to move the ball with a punishing ground game that held onto the ball and ate the clock....Our Offensive line in particular was made up of some real badass dudes who would honestly beat up and lean on the smaller quicker defenses for 4 quarters that were so popular in that time. Hell alot of the time late in games in the 4th Quarter our Offensive Linemen were just starting to get warmed up and the other team was ..... A. Beat up and tired from the shellacking our linemen had been giving them all game long. B. They were winded and wore out from chasing a speed triple option offense from sideline to sideline. Something they were not used to doing... something that forced them out of their comfort zone. C. Once you started to see the Defensive linemen of the other team take a knee and the linebackers standing around with their hands on their knees or hips between plays....that was Coach Osborne's signal to really start to dish out the punishment for the rest of the game and turn it up a notch by making them chase us....the same plays that were getting stopped in the first quarter for no gain or only 2-3 yards.....were now starting to yeild runs of 8-9-10 yards per snap.... Coach would see this and REALLY POUR IT ON EM THEN....! THIS WAS CHAMPIONSHIP MINDSET FOOTBALL ...SEE THE COACHES AND THE TEAM HAD SEEN IT, FELT IT IN GAMES ALL FALL....THATS WHAT MADE US SO DANGEROUS....WE KNEW WE WERE TOUGHER AND THE BETTER CONDITIONED TEAM PERIOD NO MATTER WHO WE PLAYED....THAT GAVE US CONFIDENCE AND A CONFIDENT TEAM....THAT BELIEVES IN ITSELF.... IS VERY VERY HARD TO BEAT....
Matt knows that Nebraska doesnt have Big Ten level players. This USC QB coming over from UNLV should highlight to Nebraska fans that an unheralded sophmore from the Mountain West is really way closer to being an NFL QB than Dylan.
Let this sink in, Rhule continues to play the long game while IU came in and just dominated with far less resources. This fan base is yearning for a lower tier bowl game. Smh

What a relief to hear straight out of the gate that Dylan would play and that he had a good week of practice.
Is it though??? HH can at least run 🤷🏻♂️
It sounds like Matt wants to sign Dana to a long-term contract after the season. Hope it can get done. GBR!
Imagine if we win a 6th game and Dana has a whole other month of teaching and coaching! I believe we can do it. Go big red!!

Please get that 6th win. This fanbase is begging to be able to look forward for a game in December.
got 3 decent chances
Im 100% with you GBR!
I think it would be fitting and well deserved if HH went out and got us our 6th win.
HH doesn’t deserve anything. He’s not good enough. Not a QB.
Dude should be at UNK 😂😂😂
What’s crazier to me is that is best attribute is speed but Fidone is faster than him 🤣
Except he wouldnt. At RB or WR maybe.
GBR
Please stop praising the other team so much, start talking about how well your team is going to do. Speak wining into existence.

@@userp101top5 I have actually. You obviously just have selective memory
@HuskerPower97 I guess so crazy lincoln riley is the new offense coordinator

Or. You are completely wrong? Yeah I think Ohio St would agree with me. In fact I know, I was there. We Don't need or want your negativity

@jamieshotkoski8518 it is where they are talking from that is the problem 🤣
@@brianh4669 not you lol. The guy with the original comment. 😂 I actually agree with you 🤙
@jamieshotkoski8518 no. I know
Rhule looks stressed/ anxious. Damn. Wonder if there is something going on behind the scenes we don't know about?
It’s called high level coaching. Plus you fans aren’t helping any.

Rhule looks stressed, battered, and low energy. Starting to turn into scott frost clone!
Maybe you're just a douche!

Does any of this really matter anymore? Neb will not win any of the last three games. No bowl again.. Nebraska-There is always next year!
