I'd recommend; Putting the Drawer Pull (handles) Inserts that you have, starting with the top drawer. You may contact other restorers maybe one could 3D print replacement inserts ... just a thought....
This is gorgeous. I think the warm satin really brought out the grain. I wish you had used the inserts on the drawer pulls. I think the color would really pull out the grain patterns. I think you did a great job on the color matching on the veneer chips. GREAT ASMR video, I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to your next video. ❤
Thank you for the nice comments! I appreciate it. After reading everyone's comments, I'm definitely going to search for the inserts or for similar drawer pulls.
Those hand.e inserts are bakelite. Take one to someone who does 3D printing, and they can make an exact duplicate. They are valuable and a standard for this furniture. Nice job all around.
Your colour matching was good, but at first you matched your patches to the unfinished colour so when you applied the finish the timber changed tone. You can try dampening the surrounding timber with spirit to get the surrounding colour. You’ve done a fantastic job, it’s turned out really well
I realized after the whole thing was done where I went wrong. I should've known the paint wouldn't behave like the wood. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
Great job Sir! I loved your editing, "I will spare you the sound of the handscraper, have some relaxing music", and the "aaarghh" when you were removing the old wheel. What a beautiful finish. The whole piece is amazing. Xx
Turned out absolutely gorgeous! The wood grain is amazing! Love the two toned look, very elegant! Love the drawer pulls would've been nice to use the inserts if you'd had all of them. But using them without the inserts works very well to! It's a beautiful piece! 😊❤
Beautiful restoration! It was so satisfying to watch the old top coat sand off easily. Please, put the inserts on the handles, at least the ones you have and maybe leave the top drawer without... whatever seems appropriate.
I think you can find a replacement for the bake-light, or buy a complete set used . I found one on Etsy that looks just like the missing piece. Gorgeous! Great job!
To fix the missing pieces or sand throughs, use blendall pigments with a little shellac. Oil paints will bloom unless you wait several days to several weeks. Alternatively, acrylic paints can work. They’re not as easy or quite as good as the Blendall, but not bad. Generally, they will be dry in a few hours at most.
Seriously, that is amazing! I ,love your idea of using oil paints to match veneer damage. So, if I got this right, paint after the first coat of poly and it will work? That piece is gorgeous. Also, what is this “warm satin “ poly? Thanks.

I think you are right. Thank you for the input. The 3D printing is a good idea.
I saw a lady on another channel that had 1 missing insert so she casted a mold and made a new one with resin! I thought it was a great idea!
A very good job at restoring. Love the finish piece.
@@saraestridge3183yes, that is the way to go. You just have to tint the resin to match the Bakelite originals.
I saw that!
I would have bought that too even with my limited skills and worked on it. So pretty!
For $6, I couldn't pass it up. Thank you!

Thank you. Great idea.
How beautiful.....hard work patience and knowledge have restored a beautifully made item, without distracting silly music....thank you😮😅😊😊😊😊😊
Well, there was a little silly music. Haha! Thank you so much for the nice comment! Much appreciated!

Thank you! I can't help trying to put a little humor in the videos. I'm glad you liked it.
Love the 2 tone look! Beautiful job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Beautifully done!
Dust apparatus is BRILLIANT 🎉❤
Thanks! It'll work for now.

Thank you! There seems to be a general consensus on the handle inserts. I will do something. Thank you again for watching!
Very beautiful, love the contrast.
Thank you!
Qué barbaridad que gran trabajo.
Quedó hermoso el mueble.
Felicidades.

Thank you!
Beautiful piece. Not too bad to start with, but wonderful when it was finished. Great work.
Thank you so much! I appreciate it.
Love your sense of humor; I subbed. I can only echo what the others have said about the handle inserts.

I just looked. I couldn't find the exact ones, but I found some very nice alternatives. Thanks for the suggestion and the kind words!
@@BuilttoCreate The one I saw was from ‘Pattiandbobsporch’
Really good job, looks great 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much!
Beautiful job ❤
Thank you so much!
This was never my favorite furniture style, but they are lovely! Nice work.
It is a different style. It just recently earned my appreciation. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Imazing. Good filming. And I wish that I have the courage to take on such a piece.
Thank you! I just started restoring furniture. Just need to do it.
Шедевр! 😍👍🏻🔥
Looks better than original
What a bargain and beautifully done, just subscribed 👏

Thank you. I'll definitely look into that. I did use acrylics for the second touch-up.

Lovely 😊

Really good job!

Lovely!
Thank you!
It's beautiful, if u sanded the front face frame, and the i side of the drawers it would take it to the next level.
Thank you! I appreciate the comment.

Very nice

How about putting the inserts on either just the top drawer, or on the other three?
I think I might put the inserts on the top drawer. Thank you for the input!
@@BuilttoCreate They will make for a nice accent.
Lovely. It would probably be less work to just repair the veneer.
❤
I think that you should replace the missing side piece on the base.
I tried to. I couldn't find anything that would match the shape of the front of the base. A flat board didn't look right. Thank you for watching.
When I saw you re-useing the old rusty nails and useing filler on the veneer, than I quit
There was no re-using of old rusty nails in the making of this video. I see your point on the wood filler, though. Thank you!
Nope, i would much rather hear the work being done. That’s why i stopped by. 👍🏼
Thank you. I'm happy to hear viewer's opinions. I will keep that in mind for the future.
Not all 1940s furniture is art deco and this is certainly not
Beautiful
