I'm a veteran of Naval Action, finally had enough of the devs ridiculous decisions about six weeks ago. Returned to Skyrim, playing survival mode for the first time, and having great fun.
I don't like the kiss ass part, even a single solo player with no clan should have access to all items in the game , what's the point of the game if some get more and others cant?
I purchased this game just a few days before they reduced the price and made it free in 2022. I began to grind for better resources and ships. I was terrified to leave the harbor several times since I had to face bullies who departed in their small elite ships. I once dealt with bullies successfully. I had a difficult time because my ships were occasionally destroyed by veteran gamers, which made me sad. I told myself: Is a hard game but it will be more fun when I will be more experienced. I was horrified until I clicked to see what a DLC meant in this game! By purchasing a DLC, I was able to receive a FREE ship every day, and if I'm not mistaken, with the needed components. That was the tipping point for me when I saw I was fighting an uphill battle against players who had purchased DLC and thus had unlimited resources against me. Today, I downloaded the game with high anticipation. I suppose not much had changed.
Yes, the developers have been playing favorites with player groups for years.

I laughed so hard when you mentioned Civ 5 which I am playing at the moment, instead of sailing with my Prince de Neufchatel to hunt traders (which I used to do over the weekends). Privateering was so much fun with small ships now almost everyone sails 4th rates and above.
Have you ever looked at Pirate of the Burning Sea? Watched this since I am trying to find a good pirate / sea battle game and sadly doesn't seem to be any. Sad that this game failed, it had such a great potential.
just did a "naval action in 2024" search here to see whats new about the game as I was thinking of jumping back in but now im feeling like its not worth it. Was going to get my group in to it but idk
Had 15-20 guys playing Naval Action with me in April. In May the devs proposed some changes. None of us play it anymore. The devs of Naval Action change it sooo darn much it is very difficult to keep a group excited about playing the game. I cannot recommend Naval Action for a group experience. It is so aggravating.
11:49 for your information, that was a pirate ship captured by a CFS player ^^ I'm actually shocked tho, some parts of your video are infact true and make sence! I hope I'll see you back in the game when they (devs) made some urgent needed economic changes (no sarcasm by the way)
Good comment. Thanks for the back story on the ship. I know I rag on Spain a lot, but pirates do the same thing. GB and France would love to do the same, but in GB's case it's impossible.
I do feel 5 nations would be healthier than 4... Odd numbers allow 3 weaker nations to fight the inevitable two powerful nations. Having two super powers and multiple lesser powers is a well understood occurrence of gaming social structures, but these devs don't have the requisite experience to know how MMO's work.
Hey Isy! What would you recommend to fix this issue? I personally think that if the devs are insistent on keeping the port resources, they should definitely increase permit drops for higher ships. As you said, people should be able to play this game without having to turn into a politician or without joining some Spanish super clan to get the ships they want to use.
Remove port taxes altogether, or make it so ALL nations have valuable revenue ports. The point of a game is to promote conflict. Therefore all players need roughly equal economics. Currently Puerto Rico is just a dangling carrot which gives Spain a very big stick to destroy any DLC fleets that come against them.
The problem is that the pirate nation is the most numerous by a large margin and it has no less super clans such as Panda and WTF. Switch to Britain or France and create a challenge for the super clans. The only one of the super clans that I respect are Toxic/Havoc, who last season competed with France and pirates on equal footing, while being short of resources. We need perhaps some balancer of the number of people in nations, and then a balancer of power in nations. At least enter the rating of players and for the destruction of high-rated players there will be a greater reward - then the hunt will quickly begin) Battle problems are: Reduced accuracy when it's impossible to make leaks even with long guns and all upgrades and perks for an accuracy, although in the last season it was perfect - not very easy but possible! It was really good baalnce between risk to shot in water and to sink the ship from 1 broadside. Second problem is useless of skillshots now, it's really better to wait enemy ship will finish maneur and you can make a broadside to a side! Not to nose or stern! Side(!) It's really sad seeing your cannons going anywhere but only not to enemy's stern
Welcome to modern gaming. All my favorite games are going downhill due to bad developer decisions. Makes me feel like I’m the crazy one. It’s like a generation of developers have retired and nobody knows how to make good games anymore.
Is there any trading or maintaing in this game...you know to intice players to convoy trade, use smaller cost efficient ships, and only do large line battles when really important. No its just spam line ships (as far i can see in youtube clips)
There are like seven people who play this game. Finding a trader will be impossible. And yes there are like two viable ship choices otherwise you are at a straight disadvantage
I umm just started playing daily for about 4 weeks And i gotta say .. i love it so much Simple gameplay but enough depth to keep me coming back And instead of hsving to grind levels i just capture a ship i want
As a returning player I’ve actually enjoyed the game and whist it can be overwhelming at first most of the players I’ve encountered has been really nice to me and I must say it’s a shame to see the current decline in the game since as of the release of skull and bones I’ve been looking for that pirate sort of naval game and unfortunately life and her many challenges ended up getting in the way and so I eventually forgot about it until recently 😂
Yes.. War and Peace Servers had 12 Nations. The "new and improved" Caribbean "main" Server has 4. The typical Game-Labs over tweak. I think 6-7 would be ideal. But they kind of need more players first... Running off customers is their biggest issue.
@@MostlyHarmlessEntertainment Well, one can hope that they are doing all these iterations to find the best and most optimal game. Who knows, maybe in 2050 we have an actual fun and immersive NA Edit: I giggled when I saw the "UI" (in lack of better term for this) is exactly the same

this game is boring as hell. No weather system, ship psyhics available only in battles. Lot of potential wasted.
I left the game right after the beta ended. It was a train wreck right off the bat.

Will be sad to see you leave. Agree with much of what you say.
Took forever to level, got boring and became a job with no fun. I quit years ago.
It was fun 9 years ago. For a bit. But it got too grindy, and it's basically still just the same game with a slightly less crappy UI
The lack of real development is a problem.

Pirate nation has been home to me for many years, and my clan members prefer it. In all other regards I agree.

Just wait. Capturing a ship works for a limited time. In about 3-5 months you'll be locked out of progressing to line ships.

what is your opinion about this game World of Sea Battle
Interested too about it
This game is to much time consuming to achieve something.
Yes. It is barely rewarding. It is slightly better than Star Citizen, but only just.
Needs singleplayer, story etc...
what lol?
They'r doing the worst marketing ever....
