  • The latest North American route is out for Train Simulator. Back to the east coast via the Allegheny Mountains in the form of Baltimore & Ohio's West End Mountain Subdivision, set in the 1970's featuring old standards (TS and otherwise) such as the GP-9, SD35, GP40-2 and SW series switchers - from Grafton, West Virginia to Cumberland, Maryland.
    Join me as I take a look at over 100 route miles from end to end as well as the rolling stock that comes along with.

      Indeed we do, if it weren't for the likes of a few payware devs and freeware devs I'd prob be on to somthing else.
      I just dont understand how these same old devs keep churning out the same msts quality stock and expect ppl to be ok w it.

I think they should just focus on the route which is very nice but their rolling stock needs some improvement . Just have to use Jointed Rails stuff on the route like always ! Thanks for the review.

    Not to cause a War between anyone but B&O wasn't the first railroad in the United States, Wikipedia says it is when that's false info as DC Congress Library fire insurance land title says Honesdale PA is the first all working railroad in the United States, B&O may have laid the first stone but Honesdale Ran the first Steam Locomotive in all the United States on their 9mile line, used at the time to transport coal from the mill to the river barrages in 1829. B&O didn't start running any locomotives until 1832

    The pipes were once from the towers to the switches at one time in real life. Cannot remember what time though, if it was Armstrong levers or not. Out in that part of the world, there is lots of cliffs and rocks in the rivers and creeks thus creating rapids that they obviously tried to recreate. Not sure where you are from, but I have been up there on that Subdivision once to see that area and it is rugged like that up there.

    I couldn't fight the temptation. Got it and love it since I really like that area and B&O. However I will with the rest of you on rolling stock. It would be nice for the era on the "Trailer Jets" esp. to have some 89' flats. Amtrak believe it or not ran the route from 1976 to 1981 with a train called the "Shenandoah", so it would be neat having the Amtrak trains in there. I am new to all this, so I don't know if it's possible to add more to these as they are purchased or not.
    How do you do the pass over in your video for the tour? I want to tour the simulator on my own at certain locations without actually having to use a scenario using a train (if it's possible). I'm okay with the old look of TS routes, but the pricing is insane! I just can't justify spending $40 on a DLC that looks like this. (Horseshoe curve 2.0) It's worth about $5 in my opinion. If they want more money, they need to update their game engine to a somewhat modern standard. $40 is a whole, brand new videogame, not one super dated DLC map with a few recycled vehicles. It's ridiculous. Also, I don't get what people do with these huge yards, if you get an OOM error every 5 minutes while using the editor. On a 32GB machine. Ridiculous. So if I'm unable to explore or use the map, why should I buy it in the first place...
    edit: The video is great tho. No intros, no begging for subs, what a gem lol

    • @schnauzahpowahz
      @schnauzahpowahz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha thank you, and I totally agree. I'm holding out hope for SimRail. Best option ftmp in TS is to wait for sales because the fact that we get the same garbage rolling stock time and time again isn't work 40 alone.
      As far as subs and likes, I figure if people enjoy the content they know what they can do - I feel the same as you, can't much stand stuff like that
      all entrée, no appetizer 😉 (def not fancy restaurant entrée, more like Burger King or something lol)

    • @medienprojekt5214

      @@schnauzahpowahz I think I was a bit too harsh, because the Mountain Sub is one of the more valuable and complex routes, and I'm an Eagle Dynamics customer, haha.
      SimRail looks like the average low budget indie game, if you ask me.. :)
      I think it's impossible to make a solid base-sim without some serious $$$, from a big company like MS. I kinda lost faith in all those indie/low budget games. It takes dozens of people and 50-200 million dollars to make a serious sim these days. With all the licencing, translations, research, documentation
      So I'll stick to good old TS classic and Run8, until someone comes up with a "AAA train sim" with decent US content.
