My dad spent $200 on pills with his stimulus money and not even 2 weeks later he spent another $100 theres no way anyone can be financially stable and take pain pills at the same time and it leads to heroin but he won't listen to me

I wish I had this information 6 years ago, I remember the first time I tried an oxy 10, after my friend convinced me, took a year of me saying no until I was going through some rough stuff and caved in and tried them. his dad being terminally ill with cancer meant an easy hook up, instantly fell in love with that leaned out euphoric high, nothing mattered, felt amazing, everything was so easy, nothing was boring.
wish I knew how bad withdrawals could be years later, sniffing those Awesome old green oxy 80's, then when they were taken off the market, on to the new oxy neos. then methadone, then some fentanyl abuse, and now never knowing if ill be able to get off methadone...
I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, and hope everyone has the correct education for pain killers...

This stuff is truly depressing, most of those people started from an injury and legitimate prescription, but they're predisposed or vulnerable to addiction and suddenly their life spirals.
They have to watch their loved ones cry, they lose their wife, their kids, their homes, Wake up in Emergency, or a stranger trying to resuscitate them.
It's truly saddening, this vid didn't show the families who've lost their loved ones to overdoses. That is a bottomless barrel of tragedy.

People say, "Just Say No." I just say, "JUST RUN!!" I've never had that encounter with somebody offering me drugs, but I've had dreams of it, and in these dreams, my first instinct is to RUN, and RUN VERY FAST. Because If that ever happened to me, I'd feel that's the worst thing ever that could happen to me. Somebody offering something that if I take it is gonna destroy everything, I'm not gonna stay and Talk, I'm going to run. Dad asks me, "Where to are you gonna run Peter?" Well I don't know where, but I'm certainly not staying there where the encounter occured.

People don't deserve cancer or to suffer from life threatening injuries.

Drugs are not to blame for people's addictions. It's the people who want to take more of it.

Opiates are insidious that's true. I've used oxycodone and raw opium and while fun, I know how chipping works and I intend not to succumb to it. I mainly tried opiates for fun, so I know what I and others are talking about. Now that I know how it is, I have no need to do it again and most likely never will. There are other relaxing substances out there not as expensive, addicting or hard to get by as opiates.
This video is about how awful opiate (prescription or otherwise) _addiction_ is. Not every user is an addict, though in the case of opiates that does happen a lot more.
