    I’m not usually a fan of custom coloured seat belts but those are absolutely spot on and actually enhance rather than compromise the interior👍 That dash looks like an absolute animal to do. Kudos to you Chris. SRS module?

    Aaahhhh!!! Interiors are my Achilles heel as well. So many hidden fasteners and specific ways that components need to be removed & replaced in a particular order. Also so many wires that create such a mess that makes me wonder if I’ll ever get it all back in place every single time. I’ve been putting off replacing my airbag deployed dashboard for months for this reason. Great content as always.

  • @TimppTV
    @TimppTV ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The Tech Tip you showed for Development Code 1 is for the fault being stored in the front camera R242, which is located in the top of the windscreen. Not for the front sensor you showed. It most likely doesn't have anything to do with the airbag error. Also yes, the radar needs calibration after disassembly.

  • @dc1564

    Don't you have to reset the srs module to get the airbag light away? And also from my experience I don't think you have to recode it to the car if its the same one off the car original, you may need to do a ADAS calibration to get the lane assist etc to work. Keep up the good work

    • @SuperrNoodles
      @SuperrNoodles ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Vag ECU’s you can clear the crash dtc with a diagnostic tool, however it still stores a record of the crash via a counter in live data.

    Those big clips in the a pillar is a safety pro caution. I just replaced tweeters in my own golf 7,5. I was frustrated as well until I figured out how to easily get them out. If the curtain airbags go off, the clip will move out that inch so that the airbag moves in the right direction, without the driver or passenger getting the a-pillar trim in the face.

  • @jscmedia3714
    @jscmedia3714 ปีที่แล้ว

    From memory, with the 7.5 golf R, the front radar needed to be behind the VW badge to not show any errors. If you were to remove the badge but still have everything connected, you'd still get the error so get the front end on first before potentially paying extra for calibration as I've heard it isn't cheap.

  • @aaaaplay
    @aaaaplay ปีที่แล้ว

    This is awesome, truely! If I were concerned about smoke though, I would have taken the opportunity to wipe behind all the removed trim pieces. Smoke tends to get in all the worst places, like door cards and pillar trims etc..
    In terms of the radar sensor, you'll likely need to recalibrate that because it was disconnected. A retrofitter like VW Retrofit should be able to help with that if you can't figure it out yourself. Best to get the front end finished first.

  • @djsiuk

    I know I'm late but on the cars I deal with on my channel, the radar sensor has a level sensor inside so they have to be mounted securely and adjusted to be sitting in a horizontal and vertical range. Then you just have to drive the car and it recalibrates. VWs could be different.
    With the airbag light, it wouldn't surprise me if VW store crash data in the airbag controller. Specialists can connect to the chip directly and remove the recorded crash data.

    I was well pissed off.
    Only wanted to clean the turbo, I went in through the exhaust cooler, and at least it seemed to have worked.
    I just think ok ... I'm better than I was, but this is my current level. I have to find a way to overcome this, because everybody else did as well. But it's so frustrating.

    Deffo needs adas calibration its also all linked to the steering wheel angle sensor
    There so sensitive , adas needs calibration after a routine alignment. Espically bumper removal
    Just to pre warn you Chris, if after fixing everything u find u still have travel assist and sos errors you may have a faulty steering wheel The captive sensors in the steering wheel become faulty, basically can't detect your hands on the wheel there's a revised steering wheel available but a very long wait at Vw there all on back order. Also get yourself onto the new 1941 software for the infotainment its available online to download fixes a load of bugs and make it a lot faster.

The wires to the crashsensors are usually yellow and brown and has yellow connectors so im pretty sure that those wires goes to a crashsensor. I had a crashed damaged 2021 crv, I replaced the rad pack and with it the radar that came with the rad pack, the lights on the dash would not go off no matter what we done. Eventually Honda said the radar was mismatched so we put the old one and it all the lights went off, no recalibrating had to be done after that
